The Antigua Yacht Club is managed by Tia. Tia and her team delivered an experience that was more than 5 stars in every way, and for that, my wife and I are more than happy and grateful to her. Let me tell you why.
My wife and I were just days away from celebrating our 25th Silver Wedding Anniversary when we arrived at the Yacht Club, and naturally want to make the best of our stay in this beautiful country. Jason, the general all-round assistant for the hotel knew we were here for a special occasion but didn’t let on he knew. We were given a lovely room with a sea and marina view. However, a few days later, a person in the next room to ours had, let’s say certain morning habits that we couldn’t tolerate, and so we kindly asked to be moved to another room. Tia the manager took care of it. When I say ‘took care of it’, I mean TOOK CARE OF IT!! We were moved to a location within the complex that gave us a level of privacy and quiet that was special. The views were what people dream of when they imagine staying in the Caribbean - beautiful sea views. On the day of our anniversary, we went out for a low-key dinner at a local restaurant on the waters edge of the marina, so all is good and love is in the air… until we get back to our room! Tia had arranged for our room to be decorated with flowers, petals, little touches here and there and once we were in, Jason personally delivered an ice bucket and champagne to our room with all the celebration wishes from Tia and the rest of the team!
Now we’ve reached the end of our holiday and our celebrations, Tia, Jason and the rest of the beautiful and friendly team members of Antigua Yacht Club have left us with a beautiful and very treasured memory of Antigua that will live with us forever.
Thank you Tia and Jason for all that you have done, even though the words ‘thank you’ doesn’t seem like enough.

Can't fault this hotel for location, size of room and view. There is no pool or restaurant but within a few minutes walk are lots of very good restaurants and just around the corner around 10 min walk away is Pigeon Beach.
Nearby Catherine's Cafe on the beach was very good.
English Harbour is a 10 minute walk away or if you fancy a trip further afield, the local bus gets you into St John's within about 45 minutes.
While the room itself was basic, there was a kitchen and a large balcony making it perfect for breakfasts overlooking the Harbour.
Shirley Heights BBQ on a Sunday is a must see, the cab from the hotel was around $10 US

Overall, we had a great stay at here. The staff, especially Carrie at the front desk, were friendly and helpful. This hotel is located on the side of the hill overlooking the marina and offers amazing views of the water, boats and surrounding area! It is within walking distance of many great restaurants, the grocery store and Nelson’s Dock. Security guards located at the entrance made us feel welcome and secure. We stayed in a one bedroom suite. Our only complaint is that it was very tired, especially the bathroom. The mirror had multiple streaks, tiles chipped, grout dirty … just need to be redone. Floors throughout were dirty even after mopping. Be aware that the hairdryer provided is very small and old.

Booked two nights and decided by the middle of night one we weren’t staying another night. Rooms are old and if you are unlucky enough to be on the bottom floor your neighbors footsteps above reverberate like pounding thuds echoing around your room; if they close a door, it’s like artillery going off.
Room was ready an hour late which suggests the owners are stingy and don’t pay to have enough hands for efficient room changes. The adornment of the rooms underlines the stinginess; no way this is a four star hotel when they don’t offer more than a pot of drip coffee, too.
Hotel is adjacent to concert venue where the tackiest music plays to about 2:00 AM. Don’t bother calling front desk to ask about ear plugs, they don’t staff it anyway.
There are dogs that people have complained about here and be warned they are still barking literally all night. It is no wonder this hotel was the only one available on the island when $500-$1000/night hotels are all booked.

Stayed at AYC Marina Hotel for a few days during low season and was alarmed by the multiple emails I received alerting me to loud music and the need for good earplugs. At check-in, the very warm and friendly receptionist said those warnings are more for high season.
Hotel is quaint, room is decent size with a straight-on view of the marina. Very walkable location right on the marina surrounded by restaurants, bars and close to the dive shops.
Room cleanliness was just okay with some visible stains on the tiles and grubby switches, but easy to forgive because linens were spotless and smelled freshly laundered. Mattress was very very firm.
Earplugs were not needed for music, however, the walls are the thinnest I have ever experienced to the point of feeling like I was sharing a room with my neighbors. I could literally hear my neighbor open and eat a bag of chips, roll over in bed, and adjust the AC. I was awoken multiple times by their snoring and night terrors. You hear everything that happens in the common areas as well. Don't plan on having any private conversations while you're here.
If you don't rent a car, a taxi from the airport is a flat rate of $48 USD, or shuttle is $60 USD.

The Antigua Yacht Club Marina Resort is in a great location. It’s a short walk to the Boom restaurant on a hill nearby. It’s also a close walk to Nelson’s Dockyard, which includes Pillar’s restaurant, Copper & Lumber restaurant, the boats you can take to Brasserie & Incanto (if you call the restaurants they will send the boats), some boutique shops, & a dock boatyard.
The hotel was exactly what we were looking for: we didn’t need anything too fancy and wanted something that wasn’t too expensive. Our room was nice with a view of the Harbour and a yacht. The hotel was low on amenities- no pool or gym (got burned down in a fire) but did have a spa.
I got a great 1-hour deep tissue massage and I highly recommend it. I would go back to get a massage there if I was staying at this hotel or one in the area!
The only complaint I have for this hotel is that the shower water was cold. I would have given a 4-star review except my room had cold water for both nights. I would only stay at this hotel again if they improved the shower temperature or else I’d rather pay more per night at a hotel and get a warmer shower.
If you’re looking for a fancier hotel that is more expensive but has all amenities, I recommend The Inn right on Galleon Beach or Admiral Inn in Falmouth.

Our stay at this hotel was horrible. Nowhere on the website does it say as you are booking that the room you pay extra for to get a harborside view is flush against a concert venue. We did not sleep a minute that night. The music was so loud the bed was shaking from it. What's worse, there are no staff working at night, so there is no possibility of getting a room change. When we left the next morning and complained that the hotel did not fulfill their end of the bargain of giving us a place to sleep at night, since there was no possibility of sleep, we were told that they would follow up with us via email about a discount on the room. It's been a week and that never happened. So not only is this hotel dishonest for knowing that the room they charged me a lot of money for was going to be miserable, but they are dishonest for saying they are going to help me but never did. The man at the desk just said what he needed to to get me out of his hair. I paid extra for this hotel on the last night of our vacation because we would be traveling home for the next 24 hours and would not be able to sleep, and we wanted a good nights rest the day before. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We booked an Executive Suite room via Virgin Atlantic Holidays on a bed and breakfast basis . These are in fact one bedroom serviced apartments . At the resort there is no information about the facilités, local amenities or optional excursions.
There is a very steep access to the apartments and use of the resort “golf buggy” was needed on many occasions .
We had to report to reception every morning to get a voucher for breakfast at a local restaurant the voucher did not even cover the full cost of coffee, orange juice and croissant .
The executive suite room is tired it did give a view of the harbour but not a sweeping view as advertised. it was situated in the middle row not the top as advertised . The hobb and oven were not working.there is no facility for clothes washing .
On arrival I (late evening and raining ) there was no water in the room I telephoned reception to request 2 bottles ,these were duly delivered ( 2 small ) and I was told they would be charged to my room.
On departure our pick up did not arrive despite 2 text previous confirming a pick up time the reception staff had to call a local taxi to take us to the airport .
The best thing about the resort is the lovely staff and location for bars and restaurants .

We visited AYM Club in Jan 22, we were using the hotel as a base to travel around the island. We didn’t expect The Ritz, we expected the room to be basic, which it was, but we were not disappointed with the room, because the bed was comfy, the room spacious and the shower really nice.
One problem is due to the walls being so thin, we could hear both rooms either side of us, whenever they spoke we could hear them, especially at night time when they were drunk and on the phone for ages! Plus the room above us sounded like a pig farm… the guy snored very loudly!
The main reason for 3 stars is due to the very loud noise from the outside all night, people shouting and screaming so it’s very difficult to get to sleep - especially if you are a light sleeper! It honestly felt that we were in San Antonio, Ibiza, on the strip - trying to get to sleep at Club Tropicana… it was like a nightclub was on our balcony!! Loud music - Boom Boom Boom… All night from Club House and other establishments nearby.
In the end we checked out early and moved on to another B&B near Turners Beach. I would only use the place to stay 1 or 2 nights max, because you won’t get much sleep when people (who mostly come from off the boats) are partying. But it’s in a great area to explore Shirley Heights, Pigeon Point Beach, Fort Berkeley and there are many restaurants you can choose from.

Very upset and disappointed. Booked a twin room with 2 beds as travelling with a friend. My booking clearly stated 2 beds preferred but the hotel insisted that we had to share a double bed or pay for an extra room. Totally unacceptable and ruined my holiday.

The hotel does not have a lift but there are round floor rooms. I didn't stay in the apartments but they are built on a hill so not accessible for those with walking difficulties.
Worth noting there is no pool and the nearest beach is a decent walk down a hill there but upwards coming home
There are more places to choose from in the English Harbour area.
