The hotel staff are great, friendly and welcoming. The food was good as well as the drinks. I loved that the hotel had everything for someone like me traveling solo for the first time. It had the high end stores like Louis Vuitton, a Starbucks as well as other shops in the marketplace a 3 minute walk away if you stay in the adult only Marina hotel. The highlight was the private island and the water taxi that takes you to the island about a 7-8 minute ride. I rented the cabana and would definitely do it again. I’m definitely going to go back and stay again at the Renaissance. I didn’t do all inclusive since it was just me traveling however I think the prices of food/drink was not at all expensive.

It was a great experience staying there. Everyone had the best customer service especially Yanick. He was someone that brought food around and cleaned dishes but when out of the way for us when he did not have to. The Island is amazing and renting the cabana is worth. The only thing I would change is how soft the pillows are.

We had a great time at The Rennissance when we visited in March. The overall service was very good. The only issue we had was that the bell desk and the front desk did not seem to speak to each other. When we arrived they took our bags, we went up to our room and then we waited, and waited, and waited. Until after about 35 mins my husband went down to check. The suitcases were just sitting there and the bellman just said he didn’t know where we went and didn’t think to ask the front desk what room we were in. This was strange because at every other hotel generally they speak to each other to send bags up. Other than that mishap it was fine. The food was better than we expected but there are plenty of different restaurants within a 5 minute walk. They were great with kid’s preferences and helping out.  Room was always very clean and spacious for our family of 3, it had a microwave and small fridge.  The private island was a great addition and very lovely before 1pm then it got loud with the airport. We went there several times during our trip. We did a cabana one day which was amazing (I wish we did it everyday)! Service was phenomenal. Make sure each person from your room (even kids) have their keycards. Otherwise they won’t let you on the boat.  The one thing the hotel was missing which would prevent us returning until we have an older child was organized kids activities. On the island or at at pool please, please get a kids club or organized kids activities on the family side so adults can relax!

First know there are two very different hotels. One is the Ocean suites and the other is Marina. The ocean side is family friendly and marina is adults only. The ocean side is currently being renovated and the Marriott site has not updated the photos. The craftsmanship is terrible. When we got in our room there was a part of the ceiling on the counter. It was never repaired or removed during our stay. There are gaps in the flooring throughout the suite. One day the curtain rod to move curtain came off in our hand. There are double sinks and one leaked every day to the point we left a hand towel around it to make sure the water did not get on our stuff. Suites have mini fridge, microwave, two stove tops, plates, cups, etc. Soap but no sponge to do dishes. The resort uses Aveda which is a plus. They are reusable on the wall of the shower. We had to ask for ours to be refilled. The pool is nice but there is a DJ blaring music all afternoon. It takes away from the relaxing experience. There is also not enough shade. You are close to the equator and the sun is intense. If you didn’t get to pool area by 9am you were not going to have shade. They have more room for umbrellas and/or huts, they need to build them. Pool has a happy hour around 4:30pm. They need more hooks or places to dry things in the room. The shower had good pressure and we had plenty of hot water. WiFi worked well. Bed and pillows were comfortable. The remodel seems to put curtains on backwards. They cover the last window vs covering the wall. As such you lose 1/3 of your view. I want to praise the cleaning staff. They came twice a day, took used towels and trash. At night would leave chocolates. The resort before we arrived ask if we had an allergies and we said yes nuts. However, any time we are on site we had to fill out another allergy card and the chocolate left in our room had nuts in them?!?! Why ask? The best thing about the resort is their private island. Do note you do not need to stay at resort to go to island. We met people on the private island from other resorts and cruise ships. We spent a few days on this island. One day we had a cabana, the last on flamingo beach side, 3001. Worth every penny! Cabana comes with sparkling wine, fruit & nuts. A butler, floats, towels. Once we had our cabana day I wish I had booked another couple of days. It is extremely relaxing and you have so much shade. They have recently installed a slide in the last one on the iguana side. Do note the boat drop off is visible from a few of the iguana side cabanas. Also note you must book the cabanas in advance. If you don’t have a cabanas there is more shade from a coconut grove on the iguana side. That side the lagoon is also more shallow. You can get mats to float on. We walked over to gym and did a workout before spending the day being lazy. Do note the tennis court is not in good condition and you will not be playing tennis. We also did the nature trail on the flamingo side. Bug spray would be smart if you decide to do it. Mosquitoes are really bad. The hotel requires you to wear a wrist band while you stay there. They have security walking around making sure everyone has a wrist band on. The colors determine status. Timeshare, all inclusive, guest, platinum member. My father in law is the one who gave us the stay. He is high in the Marriott family. This resort did not care. They gave us the black wrist bands so no discounts, etc. OK but the front desk clerk; Janice was extremely rude about it. She was training a person the day we checked in. As such, I assume she is one of the better employees. I hope not how she treated us. Honestly, almost left but my husband was not 100% and needed to lay down. We avoided the front desk & lobby the rest of our stay. Overall it was a fine place to stay for free. They are working on it but I doubt the work will last long. It is a poor quality renovation. I would not spend the nightly rate to stay here. It was not nice enough for what they are charging. I am glad we got to do the private island. However, I would not stay here again to go to the island. I would buy a day pass. We had a blast on their private island but the rest is average at best.

I vacationed at the Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba Ocean Suites. I booked through Expedia after placing All-Inclusive in the search. When I checked in, I was told I must pay $2,148 to have the all-inclusive benefits. At this point, I'm wandering what my $627 per night (hotel rate plus fees) included. I NEVER would have booked this hotel if the price given on this site didn't state all-inclusive. It's false advertisement. When you're out of the country and standing at the check-in desk, it pretty much ruins your trip.

Dear W8337KRstephanieb, We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience you experienced regarding the all-inclusive benefits during your stay at Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba Ocean Suites. We understand that the situation was frustrating, especially when you expected the all-inclusive package based on the information provided by Expedia. It's a frustrating issue for both parties, since we didn't receive that the all inclusive was included in the booking. We appreciate your understanding, and we hope that despite this initial setback, you were able to enjoy your overall vacation experience on the island. regards,

Stayed there for five days on our 25 Anniversary. Nice location in the middle of Oranjestad with a small private beach and nice pool area. The room was comfortable and has everything you may need. The staff is also very accommodating. The breakfast buffet is very nice but you will be competing with very aggressive birds in the food every morning so watch out. The city of Oranjestad pretty much shuts down after dark so there is not much to do at night. (Nothing the hotel can do about it.) Their major selling point is the "private island". At first it sounds great, and it is, if you can get a reservation and pay for a private cabana. It is over the top great! We had amazing service for the day. We did this one day and returned to the island another day without the cabana and it was not so great. First of all the ferry leaves from two locations in the harbor. The location nearest this hotel is the second stop. As a result the boat is usually full from the first location in front of the Renaissance Harbor view. The private island has two beaches, one small adult only, and one large family beach. A total of about 300 chairs. Shaded thatched areas are first come, first serve, and fill up almost immediately. They also supply foam floating lounge mats for free; however there are only about 12 total mats for 300 people and they are first come first serve also. They are gone after the first or second boat arrives. The water is also not conducive to snorkeling. It is very murky and nothing alive to see. Great for swimming though. The worse part about the island is it is NOT exclusive to Renaissance guests. They sell guest passes to anyone, including visiting cruise ship passengers making the entire island very crowded when cruise ships are in. (There were two docked) After the second day on the island and the bad experience we decided to stay around the hotel at their private beach the third day and it was almost empty. We assumed everyone went out to the island which worked out for us. Pro-tip, skip eating at Papagoes and eat at the Fish Shack on the island. Amazing food and a hidden gem. Overall, if you want a nicer beach, much much better snorkeling, and better night life outside the hotel, we would recommend staying on, or closer, to the other more popular beaches on Aruba.

Dear Bucky1790, Thank you for sharing your experience during your 25th-anniversary stay. We're glad you enjoyed the nice location, comfortable room, and accommodating staff. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the aggressive birds during breakfast. We understand your feedback regarding the limited availability of cabanas and amenities on the private island, as well as the crowded conditions, which is usually when we have a high occupancy at the hotel, we have a minimum amount of day passes we sell so the island doesn't get too crowded. We value your feedback and hope you had a memorable anniversary overall. regards,

This was the third time in a row I stayed at the Renaissance. I love this hotel, excellent service, centrally situated, beautiful beach and clean. I always book the same room with a balcony and it's nice watching all the cruise guests walking below after a day spent reading on the beach. The staff is so friendly and within a couple of days they knew my chamber number and what I wish to order while on the beach.
