The Mill Resort & Suites garners appreciation for its cleanliness and well-kept facilities, from the rooms to the pool, which features a popular swim-up bar. Nestled in a prime location, the resort offers a peaceful atmosphere complete with great music and food, making it a family-friendly haven.
However, some guests have expressed concerns over booking issues and occasional service mishaps. Despite these hiccups, the hotel's convenient shuttle to the beach and its vibrant atmosphere continue to be a hit among travelers.

Detailed Reviews
The Marriott Courtyard (Mill) resort in Aruba will eventually be a really good option to stay at in Aruba, but there are a few things that still need to be worked out. The property looks very updated and they have done a really good job on making it seem like a quality resort. Rooms, beds, showers and space are all very nice. With the recent takeover by Marriott, I expect there are still changes to come. On day one the room was not ready and when we did get in the floor had not been mopped and was really dirty, but this was resolved on day two and there were no other issues. The food at the pool is at most a 5 out of 10 and they were out of most local beef choices all week. All this being said, they do have several staff members that make it a great experience. Alba, Albert and Nicole are awesome. Great recommendations and conversations with all. We typically stay at the Marriott Stellaris and I am not sure that it is fair to compare the 2 properties, but that being said for not being on the beach, the location is really good and we would probably consider it again for the price and experience. The only other negative is the pool chair situation. There are only 39, yes I counted, lounge chairs at the pool and they are all "claimed" by 7:00 AM. They really need to find a way to make the pool deck space accommodate more people. I look forward to seeing what Marriott can do with this property. There is a lot of potential.

My husband and I spent a week at The Mill back in October for our 5th wedding anniversary. The room was lovely and decorated beautifully for our anniversary. We had a view of the pool which is all lit up on an evening. All of the staff were lovely and even lent us some champagne glasses so we could go to the beach with a bottle of wine one evening.
We hired a car whilst we were there and could park it easily in the hotel car park.
We took the shuttle bus to the beach on the first day but when we realised how close it was, decided to walk it on the other days. The hotel have an employee here who is happy to help. The hotel is close to restaurants, bars, shops etc but in a peaceful area. We visited a restaurant round the corner (mimosas) which does beautiful breakfasts and is affordable - we highly recommend.
The pool, jacuzzi and pool bar are amazing, I wish we'd had more time there.
Overall, our stay here was brilliant and we can't wait to go back.

Great time (Jan.) to go to Aruba. Weather was around 28 *C but did not find it too hot. There is always a good breeze on the Island. We got a room on the second floor facing the pool and it had a couple palm trees in front to give it a little privacy. We did not get a balcony. At first we thought we would miss it , but actually we did not. The room was spacious with one queen bed, a sitting area, a decent kitchen, and a decent bathroom. The shower door setup made it leak a bit, but we just used a rolled up towel on the floor to create a dam. It's fine. Having a kitchen and a sitting area made it ore spacious and the stay more comfortable. The air conditioning unit does not have an auto shut off but you can manually shut it off. There is a thermostat setting to set the temperature, but we wish it would auto shut off so that it would be quieter when we were sleeping. I would turn it off when we slept but sometimes I would need to turn it on in the middle of the night to cool it down. The pool always looked clean and felt clean. Also because it not a large hotel there was plenty of space around the pool. it did not feel crowded. Always return you pool towels for the towel card at the end of the day to avoid any difficulties. This includes if you borrow the towels at the beach .. return them to the beach hut for the towel card before you head back to the hotel. It is within walking distance to the main strip of Palm Beach hotels and restaurants (about 5 minutes) and i like the fact that I was not on the strip but close enough to it. They have a shuttle to the beach or you can walk (about 7 minutes). The best shuttle driver is name Sandy. She is friendly, makes you laugh and will make great conversation with you. Ask Sandy anything about the island .. places to go , food. Sandy makes a point to learn your name and really makes you feel like a friend. There is also 3 great restaurants just in front of the hotel ... you will see a large mill when you arrive .. just walk over and enjoy.

This resort was bought and turned into a Marriott. The new owner is screwing over all the time share owners who have been coming here for years with their families. He increased the maintenance fee by 50%, started charging more fees, assessed each owner a special assessment of $1000 per unit per week owned, and owners lost their originally purchased rooms to name a few things.
Most of the staff here are nice but the food and beverages are overpriced!

As other reviews have mentioned, "The Mill" resort doesn't actually exist - this is a Courtyard by Marriott. That didn't really matter all that much to us, but it did add an extra layer of confusion to the frustration cake that was the booking experience with this hotel.
I usually always book with the hotels themselves, but we had to book through Priceline because we tried to email the hotel to ask for their cancellation policy and it took them a month to respond. So, for peace of mind we took advantage of the Priceline cancellation policy.
We then emailed The Mill to confirm that they received our booking at the correct price and a week or so later, they responded to that email. All good, but the slowness was annoying again.
Then, a week before we were scheduled to fly in, we received an email from Priceline saying that The Mill was attempting to cancel our booking because we hadn't paid yet (they never charged us or attempted to charge us). Despite multiple emails to fix the issue, we were eventually forced to pay international calling fees to call their front desk to basically beg them not to cancel us. We had to call 3 times to get to a human who could help us. They confirmed we were fine and said they'd email us a link where we could pay (since this was supposedly the problem). Of course, never received any email.
TL;DR is that on the day we flew into Aruba, I wasn't actually 100% sure we had somewhere to stay despite our consistent attempts to contact the hotel. I have never experienced that kind of lack of communication before and hopefully won't have to again.
BUT, once we got there, we had a fantastic time. The room was clean and large-ish. We had a small outdoor balcony looking into the bird sanctuary which was really amazing. The pool is wonderful and the swim up bar was a lot of fun. In terms of location, the beach shuttle was convenient despite the beach sitting area being a bit packed (but that's the vibe of Palm Beach). Eagle beach and the butterfly farm are very walkable, as is the main hotel area strip with a ton of (very touristy, but convenient) restaurants and bars.
We would probably come here again if we could confirm that their communication "style" changed a lot.

As Marriott has classified all their other properties as "Class 5 Resorts" with hefty point usage charges, they purchased the bankrupt, long abandoned, non-beach hotel located at the end of a very busy street known as the "The Mill" as an outlet for Marriott Honored Guest Members to cash in their points. While they have spent some money to clean the old joint up to look especially good in photos for Tourists that have never been to Aruba to judge, please be aware that The Mill is not in the same league as most other island resorts and located at the far end of hotel row. You'll need your walking shoes to get to the beach or a decent meal. Even in the Marriott / Regency Hotel world of hotels in Aruba, not to speak of all the other hotel chains, you'd be smart to pick another place to stay. If money is that tight for vacation, consider the Holiday Inn on Aruba's Palm Beach (it is the opposite end of the High-Rise Strip as The Mill), has a great beach, reasonable room prices with all-inclusive option (sorry but I can't recommend it) and right in the middle of the action.

This was our 2nd time staying at the Mill. We love it here. Its a small resort but has everything you need right here, bar, swim up bar, restaurant, hot tub, spa services and shopping. The Mill is not on the beach but there is a trolley to take you to the beach, which is just across the street. Shopping, restaurants and entertainment is within walking distance. The only thing I thought the Mill was lacking was entertainment. There was no entertainment while we where there. I would like to mention how wonderful the housekeeping staff was to us, especially Elaine, she went above and beyond to make our stay at the Mill comfortable and amazing. Elaine has worked at the Mill for 13 years and it shows that she really enjoys her job. We really appreciated everything Elaine did for us while we were there.

The hotel excellent location, very varied and complete breakfast, very polite and attentive staff. The
Attention by Ronny Castro and Julio César on the beach was spectacular, we were provided with restrooms, towels and cold water, plus we were also oriented from places to have lunch on the beach and rest of the island. Highly recommended, very nice experience.

We stayed at The Mill which is now a Marriot (Courtyard). It has a good value for money, close to the beach (shouttle car - golf cart that provides pick-up and drop-off service), rooms with comfortable beds, refrigerator and stove (mini kitchen). We had problems with check-in, which was scheduled for 4pm and we only managed to get in after 5pm. Another negative point was that the “laundry” was not working, and no repairs were expected.

This is a very problematic trend as I see others in the reviews have experienced this too.
You will be charged a daily rate for this property upfront and immediately after they take your payment they will send you to a 'sister site' which will be a lower starred property.
They'll make up any reason for doing this (I was told it was because it was their Carnival season that they gave my room away) and if you're unwilling to fight and go back and forth with managers and security hovering over you in the lobby, you'll get stuck with the bill upfront for a lesser experience.
They won't respond when you call them back from the other site either.
Book with caution.
