I'm from Chicago and the sockets were the same as here- US. At the resort it was quite windy and I didn't get bit there. I stopped wearing insect repellant after our second day. However, we went out one evening, off resort, on the strip of restaurants where it was less windy and I was bitten by something. Not sure it was a mosquito or not. I'm very prone to get bug bites though.
