It started a bit awkwardly when our room lacked water bottles and shampoo and the safe did not work, but this was promptly fixed on request. The location is very good, right on a spacious beach. Swimming in the sea, however, was red-flagged most of the four days we spent there and the sand on the beach soon turned into rocks that I encountered when swept back by a powerful wave. I kept to the pool after that. There is a wide choice of restaurants and we particularly enjoyed La Cabane which is right on the beach. I had a memorable Mahi-Mahi there. The locatin makes it easy to walk into Bridgetown as well.
The staff at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is beautiful and walking distance to Clarise Beach. The room was very clean with a balcony and ocean view. Dinner at the Hotel restaurant was very tasteful. I will book this hotel again.
Comfortable room with good aircondition. The beach is beautiful with white sand and big waves. There are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas, no need to rush down early. Staff at the bars are not too helpful and friendly. Breakfast is boring, nothing exciting.
I booked this Hotel through a Travel agent and paid for a premium room with a balcony and ocean view . The room was on the six floor. All the other floors had balustrade railings with uninterrupted views , which meant in those rooms you could sit on the balcony with views of the ocean and beyond . Our room had a concrete balustrade /wall which meant the views were restricted and you had to stand up to see the ocean . If you were sat on the balcony all you could see at eye view was the wall . When we approached the front desk to complain ,it was all down to the discounted rooms that they give third party agents and therefore only allocate this type of room for these companies . Advice if you book through a travel agent this is what you may get. If you book direct through Hilton which is a lot more expensive ,they give there guest better choice . However even though we are Hilton members it made no difference. On another note this particular hotel has stopped cleaning rooms on a daily basis , we were there 5 nights with the same sheets and towels etc . If you wanted to acquire more basic essentials ie loo rolls you to had to ask the front desk. We had friends staying at a nearby alternative hotel who said there Hotel were doing there full cleaning service . So if you want a proper daily cleaning service stay elsewhere . We found generally that this Hotel was very dated and not the normal quantity of the Hilton Group . We also discovered that the Hotel is owned by the Barbados government and is run on a Hilton Franchise and is actually up for sale . The location beach front was fabulous. The staff were incredibly helpful. The Breakfast and bar food was also great. The downfall is the price and the establishment who manage the Hotel.…
Hotel is located on a peninsula, allowing for easy access to the beach. Food in the restaurants was good, and nice selection from the bar. A cab to get around was only a thought away, as the the hotel staff was exceptional. Only wish for a screen door on the sliding glass door in our room so we could sleep with the door open. (small sparrows kept wanting to come in our room!)
We stayed here a couple days before a cruise. Great place to stay not far from the cruise port. Room was nice with a lovely view. Beach was nice, pool area was good, the bar in the evening was just okay. It would have been nice to come in after a late flight and grab a drink down by the pool area. The hotel assisted with arranging a private tour and transfers. That worked out really well. Thank you for that. It took away the worry of how to get around. Caleb (our driver) was awesome! I would recommend this hotel for a couple nights.
The hotel was adequate at best. There was supposed to be a coffee maker in the room. there was not. we asked for one and one was delivered but it did not work and we did not get another one. the "amenties" were laughable. this was so unexpected of a Hilton. However the worst of it was that there were three restaurants, each one more expensive than the next. we opted for the bar/restaurant and after waiting 50 minutes got an unedible hamburger(I'm still not sure what the meat was) and fries with so much pepper on them you couldn't eat them and a plate with three ribs on it. 2 beers and this unedible dinner later cost us $60 US dollars. absolutely ridiculous.
We had previously dined here for lunch and this time we ended our two week trip with two nights here on points in a panoramic view king suite. After reading some reviews it actually exceeded our expectations with the views, the beach and the South coast location being the pluses. It is a large property so there is a less personable feel to the staff and while all was clean it, like many, is in need of an upgrade. We did notice that almost every major airline crew stays here on their stopovers.
We found ourselves at the Hilton having booked via booking.com to find that upon arrival, the hotel was fully booked. Samara and Stefan at reception called every hotel in the region to find us somewhere to stay. It was that or the street and it happened to be the busiest time of the year for the island. If it hadn't been for these two incredible humans, we would have been on the street all night as the airport wasn't able to let us back in. The final call from Samara to a hotel with just one room left was our savor. Thank you x
The majority of staff are very pleasant and happy, and cannot do enough for you. The exception are the staff at Reception who are rude, curt and not very helpful. Someone needs to teach them how to smile. Also, need more staff at reception - there is always a long queue. I was lied to by reception staff. I asked a few times about the possibility of a late check out on the day of my departure. I kept getting told to come back and ask again. I did ask again at 7am on the day of departure, only to be told that the hotel was full and that no late check outs were available. BUT, while sitting in the lobby area that afternoon, I saw 2 separate couples check out between 1pm and 2pm (I had to vacate at 11am!)- I then checked online whether the hotel was indeed full - it wasn’t, it showed availability. Not impressed ! Food is a bit hit and miss. ‘The Grill’ was very good and I would recommend. The buffet breakfast at ‘Lighthouse’ is not the best. The freshly cooked omelettes are good, but the other food is not hot (barely warm). This is a large and impersonal hotel. Perhaps ok for a couple of days pre or post cruise, but not for a holiday in itself. There are much better places to stay on Barbados.…
