Casa Clolonial Armando 1900 is a fabulous place to stay in Havana. Armando has only owned the casa for 7 years and he has restored it beautifully!!! We were a group of 13 and enjoyed rooms on the "main floor" and a room on the terrace. The terrace and pool are nice places to relax before or after a busy day in Havana. Armando's love of gardening is evident in the plants on the terrace. The casa is located about 2 blocks from the Malecon which is wonderful. I loved that we were in a neighborhood where Cubans live. I especially loved the sounds of the children's voices at the two elementary schools near the casa that used the street as their playground. Armando was amazing. He arranged a salsa class for us on the terrace and prepared a fabulous dinner one night, which I had previously arranged with him. Yamika and Christopher served wonderful breakfasts and were so nice to all of us. There is a mini fridge in each room with water, sodas, and beer at very reasonable prices. We did not use the air conditioner in our room but others did and they worked perfectly. I so enjoyed sitting on the balcony in a rocking chair with Armando while waiting for the young adults to return home after a fun night out. We never felt unsafe in this neighborhood. The flight for my daughter and a friend returning to Boston was cancelled due to weather and she said "we'll just go back to Armando's". They were welcomed with open arms by Yamika and enjoyed an extra night in Havana. If I lived on the East Coast I would travel to Havana just to stay at Armando's casa and enjoy the beauty of Havana.…
Very high standard for a Casa. Nice terrace, excellent breakfast, even a pool, nice rooms, very friendly. I have been in Havanna four times and this is the best I ´ve found. Our room vas big and had a fresh flow of air.
Stayed 5 nights and found everyone very friendly and helpful. Comfortable room with a great breakfast with choice - better than other places in Havana. Roof area for relaxing and cooling off in the pool.
My partner and I booked this casa for 2 nights before the start of our 2 week tour of Cuba. We were very pleased with our choice. The lady in charge speaks good English and was very helpful and friendly. Although quite a basic room, it was clean and certainly suitable for our needs. The breakfast was huge with fruit, eggs, ham and cheese and lots of bread. A very nice stay.
I cannot express the joy of being able to stay here and be treated like family. The price is good, the location better and the staff AMAZING. If I ever get back to Havana, this is the only place I will stay.
This is an amazing casa with a roof top terrace that you can enjoy the warm nights at, and the terrace even got a small pool you can cool down in. There's a lot of stairs though, so if you have a hard time walking in stairs this is not the place. But other than that it is impossible to find nice and comfortable beds and pillows in Cuba, this is as good as it gets. It's a magical house and they have washing possibilities and good breakfast. And very clean and lots of good working air-con and fans.
About a 20 minute walk into Havana Viejo and in a fairly peaceful part of the city. Breakfast was brilliant!!! As much fruit as you can eat with juice, hot chocolate, bread, jam & then egg served how you like it with a cheese roll. The rooftop terrace is a little oasis of tranquility complete with two hammocks under a shaded area and three small tables overlooking the streets below. Rustic and old fashioned building but surprisingly modern and clean inside. Armando is a very gracious host and will do whatever he can to help!
We enjoyed our stay at Armado's casa. The appartement has beautiful high ceilings, comfortable room, air conditioning and a big terrace with an amazing view! Yamika made us really delicious breakfast. They arranged us taxis and casa for our continued trip around cuba. Highly recommend!
Casa Armando is a cheap, comfortable and well-located spot in Centro Habana, that stands out for its generous and fun hosts, Armando and Yiamika. Rates are way below those of the hotels nearby, with a fair amount of comfortable, with air conditioning, hot shower, good noise isolation (breakfast is charged separately) and a swimming pool on the rooftop. Location is another plus: you really get to experience a little of Cubans' life in Centro Habana and will be really close to Habana Vieja and Malecón, walking distance from practically all the touristic spots in Havana. The hosts also deserve praises. Yiamika does a great effort to keep the house running and exceed all customers' expectations. Armando knows all the ways around Havana and is a great guy to have a good talk. Had a great time spending a week there! Would not it trade it for fancy hotels at all! …
We stayed at Armando's loft - the apartment that opens onto the rooftop terrace with views over Havana, the Malecon and even the ocean! Armando is a great host with helpful tips and recommendations. Breakfast was served upon request, incl. fresh tropical fruit. WiFi is available and it's good for Cuban standards ;) a beautiful house with a wonderful host!
