English couple travelling for our first time to Havana! Booked the Deluxe room here which was very clean, beautifully designed with a safe, lovely en suite bathroom, TV, and a well stocked mini bar and reasonable pricelist. Breakfast was lovely - fantastic coffee and selection of fruits, toast butter and marmalade. Additional cooked breakfast is available for a very reasonable amount. The owners were very kind and made us feel welcome for our stay! Thank you Al Sol - it was a pleasure!
Hey this ist absolutely great. Lovely people with a really good Hostel.they made Everthing possible also the Airport Transfair was no Problem. I would Like to come back in this place. Greetings from Germany
We stayed at Al Sol during Christmas and it was just like a home away from home. The drive from/to the airport in a classic convertible was an awsome way to start/end our holiday :) They go beyond hospitality, what we felt was friendship and genuine helpfulness. Thanks to Alessio and his gorgeous wife we gathered so much information about the places nearby, restaurants & things to do from the start. The rooms are very big and modern (a rare find in Havana), the minibar has everything you might need, la casa is located close to every attraction you can think of. They even helped us to find a transfer to Varadero when the collectivo we booked didn’t show up. On this holiday we stayed in 5 places (hotels & casas) and Al Sol was by far the best. Congratulations for what you do and thank you for everything!…
We booked Al Sol on a bit of blind faith - it hasn’t been open that long so reviews were a bit scarce when I booked. Let me be clear: this place is awesome. Basically it’s a building in old Havana (which is 100% where you want to be) - the building doesn’t look like much but inside it’s been really nicely renovated with (I think) 3 large guest rooms. The rooms are huge and our room had a view over the convent next door (under restoration when we were there). But what made our stay was the owner: Daymed. We needed a transfer from the airport, so he picked us up in his classic car. We needed help booking a tour to Vinales, so he walked us to the tourism office and sorted it for us. He sorted Internet for us (the place has wifi, you just have to buy cards to access, roughly $2 usd per hour) and was there each morning to serve breakfast (coffee, fruit and toast for free, you can pay extra for some other things). Al Sol is just incredible though. There are still little issues (as theyre working out how to run a b&b type thing) but they get resolved fast and there are other benefits (for example the mini bar prices and their exchange rate is literally the prices you’ll pay outside the hotel, so it’s easy to sort things). I couldn’t recommend this place more highly. It’s clean, it’s safe (as is Cuba in general, but we regularly got back late and still didn’t feel unsafe) super friendly. It’s 1 block from one of the most important squares and a great starting point to exploring old Havana. Will book again 100%.…
We stayed at Al Sol for a week over New Year. The location is very convenient and the property very clean and comfortable. We felt safe and well cared for. The breakfasts were simple but delicious and additional options were available, but the fruit and toast was plenty for us. The owners are charming and friendly and very helpful with local advice. The only thing we really missed was a window with natural light in our room. I think only one of the rooms has a window, the others don’t due to the layout of the property. But this is a very minor issue. We really enjoyed our stay!
Really lovely place to stay at and is not too far from the heart of Havana. The couple that owns it was very welcoming and friendly and were a pleasure to meet. They also arranged to pick us up from the airport when we landed and couldn’t be more helpful. Definitely recommend as an amazing place to stay at whilst in Havana.
Alessio and Daymed are the most attentive, helpful and kindest hosts ever. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Totally recommend staying at their B&B. Their place is very well located for the old town's attractions, safe, clean, spacious, quiet at night, large, comfortable bed, hot shower, a minibar in the room, air conditioner in the room, good bed sheets and towels. Wish we had stayed a little longer. Definitely it was a pleasure to have met them both. We have just been to Havana (Nov 2019) and we loved it!!! Our last week in Varadero (sunny, clear warm waters of the Caribbean sea), having stayed a few days in Trinidad was a perfect ending to a lovely holiday. Love YOU Cuba!!!
Spend a wonderful couple of days in Al Sol over the last week, starting and end point for other adventures in Cuba. From the 1st moment, it was fantastic. The welcome was wonderfully warm and the room was a knockout, with the moreno glass chandelier, large comfy bed and spacious shower with abundant hot water. The owners couldn't have been more helpful also, with suggestions available if needed. A highlight for me, however, was simply the chat over breakfast with the hosts and other guests. Don't miss the chance to stay here.
Rooms: Really nice place! The rooms were just renovated in a modern style. High ceilings and the long corridor inside still give the place a traditional look. Location: We loved the old town district. The place is just 3 minutes the harbour, 5 minutes to Plaza de Armas and 10 minutes to the capital. Perfect to explore the city and very safe. Very quite in the night. Owners: The owner and his wife are very friendly and speak several languages: Italian, Spanish, Englisch (and maybe more :) )
- Super location (less than 100 meters from Plaza Vieja) and in the real center of Habana Vieja) - Alessandro and Aymed are top hosts ! (Helpful, dedicated, real facilitators for everything..) - Nice style and arrangement of the facilities. - Can also pick you up at the airport with a nice car Thanks both for your host! ... we also appreciated La Habana thanks to your host and help Guy and Hélèna
