3 day stay. Very happy with location, as a mature female travelling alone, 1 block from Prado. Room beautifully appointed, was given a triple as the double I'd reserved was occupied. Staff Saili and Alex especially obliging. * Due to shortages, despite common use of black market and ability of other casa operators to provide all breakfast components, breakfast lacked milk for coffee, whole eggs (unpalatable powdered egg omelet was served) and, (it seemed) the coffee was government issue ie cut with chicory. Discussed twice with proprietor, no resolution. Quality of breakfast did not match quality of accommodations. By far the worst breakfast I've ever been served in 8 visits to Cuba! I decided for 3rd morning to forgo the breakfast (included in price and already paid) for and ate out. Highly recommend El Pirate cafe on Calle San Ignacio in Havana Vieja, a short walk away, where I enjoyed excellent full breakfast of toast, butter, jam, 2 hardboiled eggs (my request), beet and greens salad garnished with carrot, fresh 3-fruit plate, slice each of cheese and very good ham, fruit juice for $3.90 USD. Coffee (cappuchino for me) was extra. Like day and night! Upon checking out, I was offered the house taxi at 12 USD to take me to bus station, but opted to walk the block to Prado where I easily flagged a yellow "official" taxi for the standard fare of $10 USD. This is a beautiful hostal with great infrastructurre that was experiencing challenges (or not trying hard enough) to provide an acceptable breakfast.…
We booked Hotel Peregrino for 3 night at our arriving in La Habana in El Cinar. It was perfect so we also booked our last day ( before to leave the country) and were proposed this second location. We traveled in family with little kids and was our first trip in Cuba. We also had the occasion to stay in two different locations (which are situated 800m far one from another). They are pretty different ( El Cinar near to the old Town and this one in the center of Habana) but both were very charming, very clean. (A beautiful view, especially in the one situated in old Habana. Our location had a very original decoration. The breakfast was copious and our hosts helpful and available for all our little need. A real Casa We will enjoy to meet again!!! We really appreciated the hospitality and kindness of our hostss which helped us with many councils before to come in Cuba, with the transferts and offered us two inforgottable stay. in la Habana. We love traveling in family and discover authentic people and location and for us Hostel Peregrino it was perfect. We really recommend it for one original and charming stay to discover la Habana!!…
I'm very glad I picked this hostel to stay in during my stay in Havana! I was very happy with the service they provided (airport pickup, bus dropoff, breakfast, everything). The room was very large and well cleaned and maintained and the staff were all amazingly friendly. The hostel is located conveniently just off Paseo del Prado, close enough that Havana Vieja is within walking distance, but it is not so busy outside the hostel itself. They also helped us with a great guide for a private walking tour of Havana. When our flight was delayed by almost 22 hours, the owners tracked the flight and were still there for us when it finally landed. It definitely took a load of my very tired mind. The owners have also been a great assistance during the rest of our trip in Cuba. They were able to recommend us other hostels in the cities we travelled to, helped us find our way around the complicated money situation, recommended great places to visit in Havana and helped us avoid known tourist scams. Our trip would not have been the same without their assistance. I will fully recommend this place to everyone.…
I stayed in the Hostal for 3 days at the end of my tour of Cuba. Everyone particularly Sally was amazing, she helped me find restaurants, printed some documents and shared her stories about life and family in Cuba. The room was really comfortable and clean and so close to both the old and new parts of Havana. It felt like home even after such a short stay. I would happily recommend the Hostal and would stay there again if I ever revisit Cuba. Just gorgeous.
It was great to stay at Hostal Peregrino. In the heart of Havana close to the highlights places such as Malecón, and Habana Vieja, and a lovely place to stay. The people from Hostal are wonderful, very helpful, kind, and friendly. It was very special for me and my friend to stay at Hostal Peregrino. A special thanks to Elsa & Julio that made our stay even more special and cared. They are so attentive and such lovely people. Definitely a great place to have the most of Havana. I can't wait to go back someday. I highly recommend it!
Very nice place to stay. Apart from great location and good cleanliness, the extremely helpful staff (Alex,Maria) needs to be mentioned. We stayed there for 3nights and would do the same again when we might come back to Havana
I highly recommend staying at the Hostel Peregrino. It's in a convenient location near the Malecon and the Old Town. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful in booking and advising on trips and places to go. The bedrooms and of a high quality and the sitting area is very nice. I loved being right in the centre of things.
Really Friendly. It was as if I had joined the family. They were keen to help me through learning the Cuban way. Pleasant sitting room with safe friendly vibe Central location. One word of advice for the country generally: get your currency arrangements right.
Lovely accommodations near Old Havana, a short walk to museums and the Parque Central. Excellent hosts, reasonably priced rooms and a filling (optional) breakfast for 5CUC extra per person. Lots of furnishings make for a cozy, old world ambiance. Location is excellent. Would definitely stay there again!
We were not allocated the room we had booked through one of the well-known global accommodation websites but I think this is commonplace in Cuba. However our room was attractively decorated with all the amenities we would expect in a hotel and was perfectly comfortable. Our room was located at the front of the building and even though there was a bus stop nearby it did not seem to operate overnight and the street below was very quiet. We enjoyed an ample-sized breakfast around a communal table. If you enjoy conversing with fellow travellers this is an ideal set up but it may not suit everyone. The bins in our room were emptied each day but the room was not cleaned nor the bedding changed during our stay. Our hosts were professional and efficient offering lots of helpful local knowledge. The location of the casa particular was very convenient, it exceeded our expectations and we would definitely stay here again.…
