Stayed here at short notice after travelling around Cuba staying in different casa's, we stopped in Havana for 3 days and was made to feel very welcome by Acnery, speaks good English and delicious coffee, the apartment is modern and very clean, highly recommend staying here when in Havana. On the morning of getting back on the road at 5am Acnary was there at 4.30am making sure we had enough coffee to keep us going and to say our goodbyes, if we are ever in Havana this is the place we will be staying, Thank you Acnery from Paul and Sharon.

We arrived in Havana with delay and no suitcases. The taxidriver who brought us from the airport waited untill someone answered. Although we were 2 hours late, there was still someone waiting for us. The exterior of the building isn't nice and the elevator is broke or seems not save, but the interior makes it worthwhile. We don't speak Spanish but Justina made us feel very welcome. With a lot of patience and some hand gestures we understood were we had to go for breakfast and we only needed a shower and a bed. And the big shower was clean and the matrass was good. The next morning we found the nice restaurant near the sea to have breakfast. It opens at 8:30 and has low prices. We went early to explore Havana. We learned that a taxi is expensive and the casa is far from the old center. When we came back we met Acnery, she is the one who speaks English. How nice, now we could explain about our lost suitcases. She offers her help and suggests that we could pick them up when we have our rental car picked up. She also gave the tip to pick a hop on hop off bus instead of cabs, which is cheaper during the day. The bus stops around 18:00.

We had a wonderful one-night stay at Casa Acnery, and wished that we could have stayed longer. Justina met us with a cold drink upon our arrival at her Miramar apartment, and although our communication was a little hampered by our inability to speak much Spanish, her smile made us feel very welcome. The apartment is only a block away from the waterfront, and our room had great views of the crashing waves. Both rooms used by our party were extremely clean, nicely decorated, and very comfortable. Justina serves a delicious breakfast, and we felt like friends dining with her. In fact, we initially forgot to give our room keys back upon departure, we felt so at home! We had plans to drive to Trinidad right after breakfast, so couldn't stay and chat longer-but we wanted to. The apartment's Miramar location makes it a little far to walk to Old Havana, but our taxi ride to dinner was inexpensive. Don't pass up the opportunity to stay at the wonderful Casa Acnery. The beautiful apartment and the wonderful hostess more than make up for taxi fare. We would gladly return for another stay (or just to visit with Justina)!

When we walked into this beautiful apartment in Miramar, we were overjoyed! It's spacious, welcoming and completely updated. On the fourth floor, there is a lovely view of the water only a block away and a large, comfortable terrace to enjoy it from. Justina, our hostess, welcomed us with warmth that overcame any small language issues and we immediately became friends! First, the physical setting: the rooms are perfectly clean and the bathrooms are modern and filled with amenities that we had not been seeing in other casas. There are shampoo, soap and other toiletries as well as a hair dryer that worked well. Plenty of light and a/c that cooled very well. Also a mini-bar with cold water. The rooms were large, comfortable and lovely. We used two of the bedrooms and there seems to be at least one other room available, making this a wonderful option for a family or several couples traveling together. There is an elevator as well as an easily negotiated staircase and the fourth floor location offers both quiet and a view! Breakfast was a small additional charge (5 CUCs) and more than worth it. It was both abundant and delicious, prepared for us by Justina who kept trying to give us even more food! Miramar is a gracious, elegant suburb and Casa Acnery embodies those qualities perfectly. You may need to take taxis to some locations, but that should not deter you from staying here. It is a wonderful place and you will enjoy it. One small example of the thoughtfulness of our hostess: we went out to dinner and when we returned, I found that the windows in my room had been closed, the drapes drawn and the a/c turned on so that I would walk into a private, comfortably cool oasis. I really appreciated that kindness. You cannot go wrong staying at this beautiful property. Highly recommended.

I just got back from Cuba and wanted to get this review in ASAP. I visited Casa Acnery with my Mom and we felt so comfortable and well treated that we would go back there again. We are picky travelers and were concerned with the conditions of the place but were pleasantly surprised by the interior. Our room had a private bathroom, fully renovated. The room was cleaned on a daily basis and the towels changed like in a real hotel. Justina, Acnery's mother was an amazing host. She prepared coffee for us each morning and helped us with anything we needed. It felt great to be there. As a suggestion, please know that you will incur extra expenses in transportation and you have to budget aprox 15 CUC/day if you want to go back and forth from Havana. Always try to negotiate with the taxi drivers for a better fee and if you are able to catch the colectivos, then you will be in perfect shape. It's a shame that the building exteriors around Havana are not maintained as nicely as the interiors but I guess that is the room for improvement that Cuba has. Thanks to our hosts in Cuba for an unforgettable stay!

My wife and I stayed at this place twice, first 5 days before leaving for Vinales and then one more day before our flight back to the US. The room at the apartment was neat, clean and quiet. The neighborhood was really nice, a block from the beach and walking distance to many places to eat. Our host Mrs Justina, Acnery's daughter was great. She guided us on places to eat, visit and ways to move around to and from Havana. We had very pleasant conversations each morning and Mrs. Justina told my wife and I about the cuban culture, history and their values. We highly recommend this apartment for renting a room. Thanks Justina and Acnery, you made our trip much more enjoyable. Rafael & Har Lee

For 50 Cuc/night you get hotel like quality and comfort! No breakfast included. The family is friendly and helpful. The neighborhood represents a different Havana from the main tourist spots and is worth a walk. Taxi to Habana vieja is an extra 10 Cuc/ride.

I concur with what others have said about Casa Acnery - warm and hospitable owners who will do anything for you, a spacious room with an ensuite bathroom, a delightful breakfast, a quiet environment, a nice view of the ocean. However, on the night that I spent there - my first night in Cuba - only Justina and her husband were present. They don't speak English, and my Spanish was very rudimentary. This was a little unfortunate, because I arrived there somewhat distraught after having left my smartphone on the plane and realising that I'd brought the wrong travel adapter with me (not their fault, of course) - which meant that I was unable to get their advice as to what to do. Nevertheless, they helped me out as much as they could with finding my way around Miramar.

My husband and I, along with our son and his wife stayed at Casa Acnery Jan 15-18, 2016. Located In Miramar, this Casa is in a quiet and safe neighbourhood. Its proximity to Consulates and Embassies provides access to a surprising number of quality restaurants that are within walking distance. The apartment is spotlessly clean with updated private bathrooms. Acnery speaks English very well and we were very comfortable here. Old Havana is a short cab ride away. I highly recommend it!!

We had a wonderful few days in Havana - our first trip to Cuba. After being met at the airport by, a very friendly, kind and helpful Tamara, she brought us to stay with her friend Justina and her daughter Acnery in Casa Acnery, a very large and spotless apartment. The large bedroom ensuit, overlooking the ocean was very comfortable, the bed linen changed daily. The family were so friendly and couldn't do enough to make us more comfortable. We would definitely recommend Casa Acnery and if we do return to Cuba we will certainly be staying here. Thank you for a great few days. Robert and Eileen (Dublin, Ireland)
