Resort was very clean but a little run down, maids were awesome, bar staff were great, front desk very helpful. Food was lousy, looked good but tasteless, unapatizing to look at, we had to leave the resort to find good food. we all got diaharea from the food

Loved this place. Yes the rooms are dated but the staff at the resort are amazing! The grounds are kept very well. Bring pepper but I am not picky so i loved the food. Bread and pastry amazing. Thanks to Birelle and yesnelly at the bar. Beautiful people and Tony (look for him) he is a wonderful person so sad...

This was our second trip to Cuba. There are many positive things about Playa de Oro, and a couple of negatives. We returned yesterday and are still basking in our post Cuba glow! The positives! I would have to say I loved the blue water and the beach with the soft sand. The food was good as well. Anything you would normally eat at home. There was only 2 bars on resort but it was good enough for me. I didn't end up doing any excursions when I was there. Going shopping was good. Also...
