Great place with a fantastic view right in the middle of Cap Cana. It’s better if you have a car so that you can take advantage of everything Cap Cana has to offer, the service was great and the place is beautiful.
This is a golf resort and I would say not worth visiting unless you play golf. It was like a ghost town with no other guests visible and I thought I may have been the only guest staying. No doubt great if I was with a golfing group... At reception I was given an envelope of poorly photocopied documentation that was entirely in Spanish. Lucky I speak Spanish. No phone in room so had to call reception on my mobile. No answer. No cash machine so no way to access cash but taxis come within a few minutes of being called. The room was not very clean and was rather tired. One cupboard door was broken and didn’t close. There was however a little kitchen with plates and cutlery etc but no tea or coffee things which for me are important. The main light in the bathroom was falling out of the ceiling and didn’t work but there was hot water. The aircon was surprisingly effective! In short, I would really not recommend this place. My view was not great compared to other hotels here and clearly the place needs a facelift but won’t get it with so little business and no guests.…
I recently stayed at Xeliter Golden Bear Lodge 1 week ago in Cap Cana & loved it. If you are looking to relax and totally decompress this is the place for you. Talk about quiet - you could hear a pin drop. Sliding patio doors wide open and all you hear are the birds & see the golf course and ocean. Very close to Punta Cana and easy to find. I really enjoyed the pool which was also very very quiet. If you are looking to relax this is the place to go. I was on the 3rd floor, the bedrooms were cool for sleeping and the accommodation was more than comfortable. I highly recommend it!
I actually cannot believe the restaurant and bar are closed. But are advertised on their website and I was given a brochure about it upon arrival. This has been the case for some time. There is no phone in my deluxe room so you have to use your cellphone. ... by the way this is a Saturday night and there are people staying here. I hope this will help you avoid a horrible experience.
I'll start with the good thing I appreciated the most about this hotel: for the price we payed, the apartment I stayed in (two bedrooms with a living room and a kitchen) is huge. Things I didn't like: - When you arrive, the young man at the check in is very kind and welcoming, but once you are in your room, if you have any issues you won't receive any help and your issue won't be fixed. We had to call twice because there was no hot water (For me, hot water is very important), after they finally sent a guy to fix it... Whatever he did, didn't work so we ended up just accepting the fact. - The rooms are dusty and we found many insects (cockroaches and spiders)
