arrived home after a lovely week. After reading reviews I did nearly move to another hotel. However a couple of things. Seaside grill good for preferred breakfast and lunch although extremely slow service all the time. However, terrible food for dinner. We walked out it was that bad. Waiter service round pools was hit and miss..usually miss. Other Al a carte good. Don't understand the no wrist bands. It just means those that haven't paid the extra for preferred can quite easy get the premium drinks and use lounges no questions asked. I saw it happen and was told that what people did. It's a shame when most have paid extra for the preferred.
Words cannot express how INCREDIBLE the staff at the kids explorer club are… very genuine… kind… caring… always smiling & so happy… very welcoming and amazing with the kids… they include them in all activities from morning to night… they did face painting… movie nights… Olympic Games… cookie & donut decorating… dance games… bingo & let’s not forget the piñata & dance shows at night! This was by far the BEST vacation I have ever had with my girls… they said these two beautiful women named Stephani & Leidy from the kids club made all the fun! From the bottom of our hearts… Gia & Maria wanna give them a BIG thank you! We will miss them so much:-)) I would definitely come back just to have these ladies a part of our next vacation! Thank You Lucy
Sorry in advance for the long review! We stayed at Dreams Palm Beach with a group of 27 people for our wedding. I can not say enough good things about this resort. The rooms may be slightly outdated, but we hardly spend any time in our room anyways. I thought the food was great, the staff was amazing, and the service was amazing. The staff were always smiling. There was never a moment in our 11 day stay where I felt the staff were pushing for tips, if anything, they did not get the tips they deserved. Everyone there is very hard working. A special shout out to Rafael, we met him the night of our wedding as a server. This man works incredibly hard. We would see him morning to night. He is one of the nicest resort workers we’ve met, and we’ve been to a lot of resorts! Another special shout out to Richard, he was also a waiter at our wedding. Richard had an amazing energy and our group loved him. He served drinks while dancing with a huge smile on his face, and had some great moves. Another big thank you to the bartender at our wedding (I didn’t catch his name) and our buffet chef Danny. Thank you both for supplying everyone with food and drinks! Our wedding food was amazing. A special shout out to Orayda, she worked our wedding and made sure to keep our wedding private. She kept on lookers from walking through our event which is something I was very worried about when booking a destination wedding. Even when people were not so understanding, she was very professional and kind. Not to mention she is a lovely person as well! Always smiling and so friendly. The biggest thank you of all goes to Eunice and Vangie, our wedding planners. I was a little hesitant booking a wedding from across the world through email. But these two ladies went above and beyond expectations. They answered every concern, they made me feel so confident that my wedding would be amazing. The set up was my exact vision, I could not have asked for it to be more perfect. Vangie was so comforting and they both ensured me everything was going to go smoothly. Thank you both for creating the perfect day for us! And a huge thank you to all the staff who set up our special day! If this resort wasn’t closing, I would go back in a heart beat for our anniversary. The morning after our wedding we had an amazing breakfast in bed with champagne. We also received a special turn down service our wedding night. This resort made us feel very special for our wedding. The beach did have seaweed, but there was a crew of guys who worked from 6am until the afternoon cleaning it up. They worked very hard trying to keep the beach clean, out in the +30 temperatures. We were in preferred club, and I would say it’s 100% worth it. The two lounges had amazing snacks, better alcohol, and very friendly staff. The preferred pool was nice and quiet when you wanted a break from the louder main pools. The preferred beach always had the seaweed cleaned up first, and there was a security guard there all day. He would remove the brown towels so the preferred was kept to preferred members. He also did a great job making sure beach vendors did not come up where the loungers were. The vendors were also very friendly and mostly respectful when we said “no thanks.” I did not find them to be overly pushy or annoying. Preferred club also has private check in and check out, which made that process go very quickly. The main lobby check in was always packed with people. Another perk of preferred was being able to have breakfast and lunch at the seaside grill. Service was a little slow, but the staff seemed to be doing their best. I also wanted to mention, despite this resort closing in January, you would never be able to tell. They have the resort fully decorated for Christmas, the grounds are immaculate, and the staff is happy as ever. They seem to be making sure that everyone has an amazing vacation despite the closure. We appreciate that they have not let anything go with the impending closure. Thank you Dreams Palm Beach staff for making our wedding trip one to remember!…
Just returned from Dreams Palm beach and would like to say what a great time we had there, the staff were all brilliant and very welcoming. A special thank you to Francis, the coffee coffee guy and Maria in the restaurant, but everyone was great. Food was varied and tasty and staying for two weeks never got too repetitive. The only disappointing thing was the seaweed on the beach, as much as the guys tried to clean it up it was a thankless task. All in all dont be put off by some of the negative reviews especially the one by alexis, that review was so far from the truth, someone must have really upset her. We would go back in a heartbeat. Thanks for a great stay
Spent some good quality time with family Pamela aka Tiny was very helpful with letting us know about all the activities going thru the day and night especially with the kids staff was very supportive
Loved the vibe here! Everyone was friendly, we wasn’t able to get rooms close to one another so two rooms were ok one side and the other was on the opposite side… the pool activities were amazing. The water Zumba was great … the spa was amazing!
It was amazing staff was very friendly and kind the hotel was clean beautiful and food was great. would definitely recommend to anyone travelling to Dominican Republic to come to dreams palm beach punta cana.
We visited this resort about 4 years ago. Apparently, there has been no investment in maintenance and upkeep since then. Everything has gone downhill. Rumor has it that the place will be torn down. We originally had three rooms booked. A party of 8. When we arrived in our 2 "Preferred Club" rooms, we were shocked to see that our balconies overlooked a construction site. When we complained, we were told that the only other rooms available were suites, and we had to pay an extra $140 per night, Not wanting to ruin our vacation, we were forced to pay. The next problem was the third room. This was for my 82-year-old Mother in Law, who required a room that was handicap-accessible. There are only two on the property. The room they gave her was horrid! Water all over the bathroom floor from a leaky toilet, no towels, the TV didn't work, no AC control, just totally unacceptable. When we complained about this, we were then told that the only other room available was a suite and we needed to pay $175 extra dollars per night! Ridiculous! I went to the main lobby and asked for the manager, whose name was Franklin. He agreed that we should not have to pay more because of the problem in the room. It took a couple of hours, but he got her into another room. By that time, they had given the suite to someone else. The new room t wasn't handicap-accessible, but at least the bathroom floor wasn't covered in water and the TV worked. The only good things to report were Franklin, Patricia in the Kids Club, and the service at the Seaside Grill. Even that was dampened by the fact that we had to spend $1000 more than planned, and they tried to get more! Unreal! After all that, it would be very unlikely that we visit another Dreams resort, or even recommend it to anyone …
Our family stayed at dreams palm beach for 2 weeks. We had a really enjoyable vacation. We wrote an email before leaving requesting a king size bed but due to availability there was none so we have been upgraded without asking. Even though it’s a older hotel, it’s was always clean!! Our room maid Carmen Rondon Camarista did an amazing job. Always smiling and cleaning on our convenience. Food was delicious and staff very nice
Hotel and preferred room was great. Staff were fantastic or as they say” Excellente”. Beach was good but had seaweed on some days but that’s not the Hotel”s fault. They had men cleaning up the seaweed when it would come in. Pools were great, all restaurants had great choices and the food was great. The trip was fantastic and I would like to thank 3 employees which made our stay even better. My first praise goes to Robin (Restaurant Sommelier) He was fantastic. He helped us out almost every day and made our restaurant experience fantastic!! Very hard worker and always happy with a smile. 2nd was Estefany, she helped us at CoCo cafe and also at the restaurants. 3rd was Cristian a server which we saw at the buffet and also in the restaurants. Great staff overall.
