Very nice, new resort. Rooms are large with a lot of storage. Balconies are huge. I took the Luxurious room and it was worth it. Great food, colourful drinks, great service. Delicious cake offered to my son on his birthday.
We stayed in a swim out suite and it was beautiful. They never leave wash cloths so I had to chase down a housekeeper daily for new ones. The beach was beautiful but the pools were always cloudy. They need to keep kids in the kids area. Many days kids were sitting at the swim up bar and that’s ridiculous. The selling of vacations is insane. They stalk you in the pool and walkways. The food was good but if you have allergies be careful. The Thai food send me into a lactose intolerant trip to the restroom. The liquor is horrible at the bars. They should have brand named companies not these Dominican ones. They need more employees that speak English. The entertainment at the first bar was very good.
PROS - [ ] Servers, bartenders, housekeeping and groundskeepers are very friendly and consistent - [ ] Very nice room, luxury swim-out with pool was a great feature, very clean and well appointed - [ ] Loved the size of the resort, not too big making getting around very quick and easy - [ ] Nice beach - [ ] Quick drive from the airport (15 min) - [ ] Excellent masseurs, very friendly and skilled; highly recommend getting a massage! - [ ] Restaurants were nice, buffet, snack bar and sports bar were our favourites despite doing the a la carte restaurants 3 times - [ ] Drinks made generously - [ ] Yessica, (Pool bar, Snack bar, sports bar), Jacqueline (buffet) and Mileno (?) (buffet) were the best! - [ ] Plenty of seating at the pools; great the kids pool area and more adult pools were separated; pools are grounds were spotless - [ ] Gary Price (red shirt, sells excursions to people around the pool) is awesome and a great, funny, sales person - [ ] The food at the snack bar and sports bar were by far our favourite! The pizza at the sports bar hits the spot on late nights CONS - [ ] VIP sales guys were obnoxious and so annoying and creepy. We were literally stalked for half our trip; one day the one sales person stood and watched us eat breakfast at the buffet for over an hour, kept approaching us, and told us not to book our massages afterwards but to go talk with him instead. He refused to take no for an answer - all day, every day. We were made VERY uncomfortable continually and it started the first 3 or so days of our honeymoon off on a very bad foot. If you see these guys, RUN. We ended up having to be very firm and almost rude to make him finally leave us alone. He got angry with us and said he’d get in trouble if we don’t go with him. Avoid these guys at all costs!!! (Discussed with many other guests and they all had the same experience). It was a full time job just trying to avoid him - [ ] Literally had to use used Kleenex or toilet paper from the garbage in the bathroom near the pool because all the stalls were out of toilet paper. Also bathrooms by the booking tables for the a la carte restaurants were constantly gross and unusable. Not really 5 star facilities - [ ] Definitely did not feel like a 5 star resort, from the quality of food to a lot of the service (excluding servers etc). - [ ] Had to coordinate our own transportation to/from airport, which I’ve never had to do at any other 5 star resorts, as there is no dedicated airport shuttle provided by the resort - [ ] Be warned the catamaran is a 2 HOUR DRIVE AWAY. There is no music, water or anything offered on the bus. We were told it was a 30-40 minute drive; it’s two hours, and that we’d be back at the resort by 5:30 - we didn’t get back until 7:30 or later. Both “islands” we went to were heavily staffed with people who just tried selling us stuff; it wasn’t a very relaxing day trip at all. Avoid this excursion. (Discussed with many other guests and they all had the same experience) - [ ] “Stocked mini bar” means 2 tiny cans of Presidente beer in your room, restocked daily. (Plus bottled water and soda) - [ ] A la carte meals were NOT good - the Mediterranean made us physically sick for days (Discussed with many other guests and they all had the same experience) - [ ] Front desk refused to break larger bills (even a $20 into $5’s) most days despite pulling out wads of $1’s from their cash box. It was very hit or miss; if you go later in the day/evening you’ll likely be luckier if you didn’t plan well and bring enough small bills. We tipped on all drinks, refills and meals, and it made tipping all the staff appropriately much more difficult. This is also our fault for not bringing enough $1’s or $5’s to begin with but knowing we can’t tip otherwise you’d think they’d try to be more accommodating so the staff could be properly tipped - [ ] Could just be the time of year we travelled (Nov 19-26) but many many guests were just very rude to other guests and the staff - [ ] The beds were very uncomfortable and the pillows were a weird lumbar type without any normal larger pillows on the bed - [ ] A la carte meals are definitely not as advertised or described on the menu. ie: the “Tagliatelle with cremini mushrooms” at the Italian restaurant was spaghetti with canned mushrooms and olive oil (but the flow of wine at dinner was always great) (Discussed with many other guests and they all had the same experience) - [ ] Sat for over 30 minutes in front of 3 people at the desks who book the a la carte restaurants without even one acknowledging I, or other couples, were sitting there. Booking the a la carte restaurants is a very long, disorganized and frustrating process (discussed with other guests, they had the same experience) …
The only good thing about it is the service of the staff members. The cleaning service is terrible, the hotel despite having leaks in many parts. In the upstairs toilet it leaks all the time. Being able to enjoy the tours of the country and receiving the attention of Yades Michael,Marlene, Corpo, Octavio (an excellent supervisor who was fired on thanksgiving day) Javier, Villa, Alexandra. And better care of our kids with Ana and Minerva It is the only special thing that we take with us. The attention of the Spa was excellent.
Excellent service, excellent staff, clean and tidy, high quality and varied food, everything available is delicious and wonderful... the bars are open all the time, food is available until midnight, central restaurants and by order
I loved our stay at Serenade. Check in process was quick and we were given an instant upgrade to their Family Suite which include a separate bedroom for my kids and it was swim out room. The property was kept clean at all times. We tried the Greek restaurant and it very good. The buffet could use a bit more variety, but it was good. The drinks were good, especially the passion fruit margarita which they use the actual fruit! My kids enjoyed the kid's club and kid's pool.
All the staff very kind and lovely. All the conditions at the hotel are very good, as the rooms, the bars, the restaurants. All good. Food and drinks really good! This hotel also has a lot of things to do during the day. The private beach it’s clean and very good to enjoy. The bar from the second pool (the one near the beach) it’s incredible, and all the people that work there are really nice and good at what they do
We have here perfect holidays with great service, food, all day drinks :-) and unforgettable entertainment team! I love your mood, dance, everything what you offer! We were here for the first time and I hope we will come back soon! Thanks a lot!
I want to start off by saying this could be a 5 star easy with a few adjustments. This is a newer resort with beautiful grounds. The pools are very nice and are perfectly divided for adults and families but you can use either but the kids seemed to stay mainly in the pool with the slides. We have been to several resorts in DR and this was the nicest cleanest room we have ever stayed in . No moldy smell at all . The beach is nice but unfortunately due to Mother Nature the water was not to clear due to seaweed everywhere. They did have guys raking it every day. Now this is the major issue we had !! We went to 3 restaurants and the menus was very limited with nothing appetizing . I ate my food at the Mediterranean Restaurant which was terrible . The steak house was just ok again limited menu . The French restaurant we left again due to limited menu. The staff at these restaurants were not friendly and rude. Two of these restaurants were made aware that it was my birthday and did nothing no cake no singing happy birthday or Happy Birthday to me .Which put a damper on celebrating my birthday 🙁. We were at the Buffets a lot which were good . The selection gets repetitious with the food selection but you’ll always be able to find something. The staff all around at the buffets are excellent and friendly. They must put the staff with the worst attitudes in the specialty Restaurants. Housekeeping service was great!! Be aware that there are sales teams in the Hotel that will try to sell you timeshares . They will approach you as soon as you enter hotel and then try to have breakfast with you . This is easy to fix just politely tell them your not interested and they will leave you alone or just keep walking they will get the point . Also to all you knew travelers when you are at the airport coming and going they will also approach you by trying to help you with your bags . Do not let anyone help you unless it’s your transportation company. Know who they are and the company your using . This will just slow you down and cause headaches for you . Look at there shirts if they have a resort shirt on at airport do not let them help you . This hotel can be so great if they just work on the couple things I mentioned. On a budget I still recommend this resort. Also the sports bar is good and open up late it could have a little more options to menu but the staff was good . Entertainment was great with comfortable seats. Club was good . Bar and lounges in lobby are very nice !!…
This resort was awesome! Everything was really clean and easy on the eyes!! The food was good with a lot of different restaurants to choose from and if you weren't satisfied with your food...there were other places to go for different food. You certainly won't go hungry! We met some of our favorite people who took great care of us! Juan at the Preferred desk was extremely helpful and always there to help. Jose at the lobby bar was awesome! He knew exactly how we liked our drinks and made them perfect! He also made suggestions when we weren't quite sure what we wanted! There were many other amazing staff members but I'm terrible with names so unfortunately can't mention them. While there, we planned some excursions. The trip to Saona Island was unforgettable, we highly recommend it! Take money to buy pictures from the photographer on the boat. We were cautious and didn't want to carry much cash and regretted not being able to buy the whole package (which was very reasonable). My husband was bummed because they had Stoli Gold at the bar but it wasn't included....he wants to know why?? I will definitely go back here and plan to send my son and his future wife here on their honeymoon! Overall a great experience.…
