Don't go, everything is closed. Food is terrible. They overcrowd the few restaurants that are open & the cooks they didn't let go don't seem to know how to cook. They ran out of can beer every day & the tap beer was disgusting, the lines are probably dirty.
We came to the Grand Palladium in Punta Cana for my birthday celebration and a much needed break. The location is great in the Bavarro Beach area is beautiful but the resort itself is horrible. This is their slow season, not sure if that is why the service all the way around is so poor. Our room had AC and electrical problems with the breaker cutting on and off every 5-10 min, a leaky refrigerator. Just a hot mess. Cost of the room is $300 US a night so it’s not cheap. Due to covid pandemic or maybe being the slow season most of the restaurants on the property were closed. So forcing every guest only one option to have most meals. There were two other restaurants open with reservations only and they had minimal available appointments. The one restaurant that most guests had access to daily has poor food quality, it is just really really bad. We had to get up and leave on a couple of occasions without eating. The all inclusive part that they advertise is also a huge scam. There are extra fees for room service which on our case we tried to use due to the restaurant available had really bad food. Also other fees for wine bottles, or to access the pool area at the spa amongst other fees. The bars on the property heavily waters down the alcohol they serve. Extremely weak cocktails. You can’t even taste or smell any alcoholic content in the drinks that you order and the drinks tasted like diluted versions of themselves. There is a supposedly high end version hotel on the property called the TRS, which is an adult only hotel so not sure if that hotel is better then the Grand Palladium hotels but try that one instead if you are planning to visit Punta Cana. …
I had an amazing time here. William and Francisco were amazing servers. And Carlos A from Guest Service helped me find my Bluetooth speaker when I lost it not once but twice. He was fantastic. I would definitely come back. And they decorated my room for my birthday!!
Only one restaurant open with a varied menu, no evening buffet, activities cancelled but no change in price. Very disappointing. It would have been nice to be informed how much was closed. We are club members and with limited food choices, some nights I couldn't find food I liked!
Covid19 is a tremendous setback for many hotels and the Grand Palladium is not an exception...occupation rate about 20-25%. Although quality control is nowhere near what it should be vs. The situation before Covid19, after days of hick-ups we had to realize that the Public Relations staff, workers, service personnel at the restaurant...all were very friendly, helpful and focused on your needs and rectify deficiencies. A big recommendation is directed to the top management to listen intensively to their staff and the customers at this point in time in order not to loose the excellent image the hotel enjoyed so far. Please get back to the basics and do not invent funny ways of operating the quality and services at the restaurants...you may loose customers more quickly than you think and a lot of them onlymake the fist in their pockets and don't return...…
