We stayed for 5 nights in February 2021 (2 friends, girls trip) and absolutely loved everything about our stay! -The hotel is beautiful, pristine and very well-kept 🌴 -Staff are very helpful, accommodating, and respectful of COVID regulations -COVID tests are administered on-site (free for American travelers) 😷 -As platinum members we were upgraded to a beautiful oceanfront suite, free breakfast, and given complimentary late checkout 🛌 -They utilize the bonvoy app for chat and service requests which is incredibly convenient for requesting housekeeping, asking questions, etc 🛎 -The breakfast (complimentary for platinum) was wonderful (buffet some days and a la carte others) 🥓 -All menus are scannable via QR code, available via their app, and are emailed after checkin which is very convenient for planning -We enjoyed dinner at Brassa, sushi and drinks at Playa Blanca (walk down the beach to the left), and drinks and lunch by the pool at Kite Bar. There are also restaurants on the greater property that the team can drive you to free of charge 🍤🍻🍹 We are not golfers but there are fabulous golf courses all around, the spa has great reviews, and there are water sports on the beach (kite surfing 🏄♀️). Loved it and we will be back! …
5 Stars in all areas, all staff friendly, helpful, courteous, attentive, free breakfast delicious and full of variety, very clean and well maintained resort, hot tub water cold to warm never hot, lot’s of wind every day this time of year, main restaurant at beach is wind blown, was an issue for us, in general a first class experience.
You won't be disappointed with your stay here. Some areas which stood out: The staff is excellent. Happy hour at the lobby bar from 5-8 was a nice benefit. Free covid testing on site with 5 minute results helped a lot. However, every business can improve and here are the deficiencies we noticed while visiting in Feb 2021. 1) The pillows are horrible. You can literally squeeze them down to a size 5 times smaller than where they start. No support. 2) The hot tub was never hot, just luke warm, barely warmer than the regular pool. 3) Fridge is actually a mini-fridge available for purchase. No room for guests beverages or food, so not usable at all. 4) Bottled water only. The ice machines have filters so the ice is drinkable, why not station a filtered water dispenser right next to the ice machines? This would eliminate HUNDREDS of empty plastic waters bottle every day. 5) They ask you what time you want housekeeping but they were never on time. Not that we care, just don't make us leave the room at a specific time for someone not to show up. 6) You can't Uber from the airport, but you can Uber anywhere else and back to the airport. It's the cheapest, best way to get around. Hope that helps manage guest expectations and gives the resort some ideas for improvement.…
Being a Platinum Bonvoy member I’ve stayed at my fair share of Marriott Properties including this one several times however this last time was terrible! From the moment of our arrival, the front desk staff showed no hospitality to the Beach workers harassing my party even prior to their services beginning. Having stayed at this location in the past, I specifically chose this property considering the location and environment now with Covid would guarantee us not in high traffic areas. While sitting on the beach starting at 6:30AM to catch the sun rise we decided to have a glass of champagne after a few hours! I understand you’d typically pay a corking fee on personal bottles which is fine! However being approached by staff at 9:00AM without even the slightest salutation of good morning but being interrogated about where this bottle came from and requiring a fee was a bit ridiculous. Considering their services didn’t begin for another 2 hours what were we suppose to do! I would’ve gladly paid the fee if it would have been approached with customer service ie.... “Good morning! We don’t open for 2 hours however let me get you a few glasses and ice to make you’re comfortable! Also we do charge a $15 fee for personal bottles!” That simple! Moving on...we met a few other guest and had very pleasant interactions, however there was one common question among the minorities. “Are y’all noticing any discrimination?” I’ll address that in the most direct way possible....There are definitely a few staff members that could benefit from diversity training! Like with most bad experiences there were a few bright spots to include: Hector Perez -Teylor Custodio and Jose Ventura. Again, Although I’m an extremely loyal Platinum Bonvoy member I will not be rushing back to stay here until I feel as though I’d receive the normal Westin treatment.…
