I would love to give this resort a 5 star review but covid stole the last star. Here are some pros and cons of this resort: Pros - grounds and pool are absolutely fabulous! I have never seen such a gorgeous pool that extended the entire length of the resort. The grounds are beautiful and there are some really cool animals such as flamingos, a large tortoise and a beautiful Macaw parrot that all live wild outdoors on the property. Our room was quite amazing as it was a ground level swim out and we were literally 15 steps from our slider to the pool. Worth every penny we spent for the upgrade. The staff knew it was our anniversary and decorated our room with some special things like rose petals on the bed and a happy anniversary sign on our door. The drinks at this resort are super. There is a large number of choices and the bartenders are very good at what they do. There was one evening show with very talented people that we enjoyed every night after dinner. Now the cons. I believe some of the problems with this resort was simply the fact that we went in Feb 2021 during the pandemic and this resort was only at about 10-15% capacity while we were there. This was somewhat of a positive as we did not have to wait in line at the bar or fight for a good table during dinner or the show. However, it in fact was a con because many things were closed or shut down due to lack of people. There were approximately 5 main restaurants on this property but they only had 2 open each night for dinner. The main pool had a really cool swim up bar that we were super excited to go to but it was closed the entire week. Most of the fun activities that we were told generally occur when this resort is at full capacity were not taking place such as a poolside BBQ and beach dance parties. Another downfall of this resort that could be easily corrected are the mediocre meals and the AWFUL desserts. My husband and I literally tried every dessert at each of the restaurants and did not have one single choice that was remotely good. Another issue that we had was the location of the resort. We generally like to take a taxi or bus into town when we travel to take in the culture and to shop at some of the local areas. We were told that it would cost $100 US dollars for a round trip taxi to Punta Cana because the resort is so remote. In general, we really liked the resort, found it to be very relaxing and felt that it would've been even better without the crash of 2020.

Upon arrival, we met Isabel Rueda. She met us with a warm reception and provided us with the smoothest check in I've ever experienced. Soon after, we were blessed with meeting Ariady Dominguez Reyes. He was always there to help us whenever we needed anything. He is an absolute gem. Employees like Isabel & Ariady are the reason I would love to return to this resort. And I can't forget Luis, our bartender. What a sweet & hard working man. I would have given Dreams Punta Cana a 5 star rating, but the buffet was closed, due to COVID. Although they did offer several alternatives to make up for this unfortunate circumstance.

Great resort. We come here every year. The entertainment team works really hard. Benjamin Franklin , Chocolate and others make sure you get involved whether it's dancing, beach volleyball or other activities. Also, great beach and beautiful grounds.
