Travelled here as a couple in December 2018 and stayed until the first Saturday in January 2019. At first we weren’t overly impressed with having a room with 2 double beds but we understood it was a peak period plus the room was a good size and it was convenient to have various

We booked Kalinago because during Christmas week many of the hotels on Grand Anse beach were very expensive. Overall we got good value for our money. The beach is fantastic and our ground floor room gave easy access to the beach and the pool and pool bar. They have some

The taxis are RIDICULOUS. It's $10-$14 USD each way to the market. Since it's about a mile each way (and up an incredibly steep hill) there's no way to walk it. I did find out there's a "bus" that might come to the hotel or meet you at the top of the hill if you can get the schedule. But it's all very unorganized so you should try to track it down before you get there. The market also has a couple decent restaurants there including a really good Chinese one (generic but tasty). My recommendation is the island food just on the other side of the supermarket (can't recall the name). You go in and order a main dish along with a couple of sides for $6-$8 plus they have really good fresh made smoothies. I loved their fish.

It's a brisk and slightly steep ten minute walk to the nearest bus stop, but I'd take a cab into town and take the bus back to the hotel. The wonderful location does compensate for this!
