This place should never be an option if you want a clean maintained place to stay. Don’t expect water or electricity on a regular basis. It went out every day multiple hours a day. Sucked after a long day exploring only to come back to a hot room with no water or electric. We changed rooms due to a trickle for a shower. Front desk said it was because they were full and lose pressure. At night electric came on between 9 and 10. Air conditioning only has one setting. High cold. Controls did nothing. So you will need extra blankets. Ours were filthy smelly along with extra pillows with body odor and dirt. Would not use them. There was mold in the bathroom along. With An ant problem which was in bothrooms. Warped and rotted doors that were painted over instead of replacing that wouldn’t shut. Dirty floors beds like sleeping on the floor . Rubbish and bad odors from areas where work was being done. But niot something you need to see on vacation. Grounds are bare not much landscaping not maintained walk ways. . The location is beautiful it really could be a gem. But after seeing reviews from 4 years ago in 2019. And seeing newly renovated gave it a try. Renovated to them is painting over furniture older or painted .we couldn’t keep much food in outside kitchen or refrigerator because of the electric going out daily. Plus the ants and cockroaches that are huge and hang by kitchen. The black mold on the ceiling in bathroom was disgusting we kept door shut. Well almost shut it was warped. The list goes on. Just pick a different place spend a little more. 4 years and same issues. Pool towels are NEVER available. We used towels 7 days asked for exchange only to get crap from towel woman saying it’s normal to use same dirty towels she finally exchanged one of the two. Even though shelf was half full . The landscaping is bare and beds are not well maintained. Steep walkways but good exercise. One word really explains this place. Dump. We had an ocean view but a work van parked on grass directly in front of our patio. The management is clueless or doesn’t give a damn . Poor poor management. Don’t stay here.

A large, sprawling property with many steps and steep grade walking paths. No bellman to help with luggage up all the stairs. The sleeping room needed updating, bed was rock hard. The outdoor kitchenette was unique and set up for 3 people, but had an ant problem. The pool area was very nice with a pool bar/restuarant with sandwhiches, pizzas, soft drinks, beer and wine. The real downfall for us, we don't speak French, and they speak very little English. Google Translator was our saviour. The island is beautiful.

This resort has pros and cons. For families with young kids, the pools, sports activities (archery, volleyball, etc.) and evening "animation" seemed to be great fun. The grounds are expansive, well-maintained and beautiful with hills and flowering tropical vegetation and beaches. Although a bit dated, we found the rooms clean and adequate. We had asked for a quiet studio on an upper level and were pleased that we were assigned one of the quietest units at the end of the property (Building 18). It was a long walk from the lobby and parking lot but worth the trek to get well away from the noisy pool area. The studio kitchen was outside on the very large balcony and we enjoyed this arrangement. Evenings on the balcony were very pleasant with the sound of tree frogs beside us and the ocean waves down the hill. However, some amenities expected for over $200 USD per night (without meals) were missing. The kitchen had no can opener and several of the cooking pots had no lids. We asked for ice-cube trays and were promised that these would be supplied but after 3 requests we gave up. The balcony chairs were uncomfortable and the room had only one dated chair. The TV was small and had only french channels. The twin beds were pushed together and reasonably comfortable. The white sand beach was pleasant and always had adequate chairs. The main swimming pool was always full of energetic young kids and the adult pool never had any space available. One day, a cruise-ship bus added a crowd of additional guests to the pool and beaches. It seemed that everyone arrived by rented car - the large parking lot was always almost full at night. The snack bar near the pool was open until late (10 PM?). They had thin-crust pizzas, fries and barbecue chicken at reasonable prices (for Guadeloupe). The half-chicken BBQ was particularly good value. We had read reviews that managed our expectations and we understood that this was a "self-catering" arrangement. Maid service was provided only once during the 7 days we were there. A basic small kit of kitchen cleaning supplies was provided and we made it last for the whole week. We found the staff polite and helpful - I suppose our basic french capability and appreciation for French and European customs helped. I would say that this 3 star resort is probably ideal for french-speaking families with young children but older couples should look at alternatives in Guadeloupe.

We are just finishing a week at this dump. Don’t expect anything and you might enjoy it? No single person here will help you in any way. Our air conditioning hasn’t worked and the only answer is a guy who shows up after two hours, fiddles with the unit, gets it working, and leaves...10 minutes later, no ac. The first night we went to the restaurant and asked to see the buffet before we decided. We were told “NON”!! Read the menu, you cannot see the food! (Haven’t had a single meal here.) The beaches are pretty but not swimmable. The pool is filled with kids. They haven’t cleaned our room once since we’ve been here. Without some French it will be even worse. If you do come, bring towels as you will have to buy them anyway. We came due to a deal with Norwegian and while here saw that they are closing down their discounts in March. I think they signed up dumps like this and paid the price. It is too bad that this was such a poor choice to stay. The area around, St Francois and St Anne are nice towns with good restaurants. There are also some nice beaches around. Don’t even try to visit this island without a rental car unless you’re young and willing to walk a long way or hitch hike; the buses are good but slow and unpredictable; taxis seem non existent. I expect like other reviews ( which I should have read) the idiot manager will write some long missive explaining why I am wrong. Get a car and a nice ab&b in either town I mentioned and skip paying $200eu a night for nothing. In advance to the manager, save your breath and time and don’t answer. It would be far better to spend a couple of thousand euros for towels for your GUESTS! Shame on you.

Hello, I want to thank you for your stay in our village Sainte-Anne in the wonderful Guadeloupe and for sharing your experience with the TripAdvisor community. I regret however to read about your dissatisfaction and I want to come back on some points of your comment. First of all, I want to precise that our teams always do their best to welcome you in perfect conditions and to please you during your entire stay. Your satisfaction and your welfare are our top priorities and we try to always be at your entire disposal to do so. Knowing this, I am sorry if your air conditioning didn’t work but most of all I am sorry if our maintenance agents couldn’t help you with this. I hope, despite this inconvenience, that you enjoyed your apartment, its comfort and its lovely atmosphere. About the accommodation, I also precise that cleaning is included but only after stay. Also, towels are included indeed, just as it is written on our website, so no need to buy some. It is weird you had to, we will have a discussion with our teams on site to know what happened about this. About your apartment, I want to precise that in Pierre & Vacances we propose self-catering holidays. So sure, our village propose a lot of services and activities, but when it comes to your accommodation, you have to take care of your own, whether it is cooking or keeping it clean, at least a little bit. Concerning our services and activities now, I regret you didn’t enjoy our buffet restaurant but it is actually pretty normal that your teams didn’t let you see the buffet, this is something common with all restaurants, you can sure look at the menu but you can’t get into the restaurant just to look. Despite your disappointment, I am glad you took pleasure to discover this incredible island full of treasures, authenticity and breathtaking landscapes. What a pleasure to also get some rest on the beaches from heaven! Ours, right next to our resort, are perfect too to relax underneath palm trees. Moreover, I hope you had a wonderful moment in our pools even if these ones were a little bit crowded and I truly wish you appreciated our activities and entertainments organized every day. We would be really honored to welcome you in our resort to prove you the quality of our services and to show you that our village is the perfect deal to discover Guadeloupe. Kind regards, Pierre & Vacances Villages – Sainte-Anne

Hello, I want to thank you for your stay in our village Sainte-Anne in the wonderful island of Guadeloupe and for haring your experience with the TripAdvisor community. I regret however to read that this moment in our facility hasn’t been satisfying. I apologize for the unusual lack of cleanliness and the other inconveniences you faced I your apartment. I insist on the exceptionality of this situation, our teams usually do everything they can to clean accommodations after every stay and check if all the equipment is functional and ready to be use by our guests. We do care about offering you the best holidays possible in a comfortable and warm apartment in a lovely and heavenly village. About our teams by the way, I am surprised and really sorry about your comment towards their behavior. Know that they are usually praised for their professionalism and their kindness, I regret you didn’t get all the great consideration they have for all of our visitors. They do their best to help you, even with the language barrier. Concerning the location of our village, first I hope you enjoyed the beach just right next to it, so good to rest underneath the palm trees, just listening to the waves sound. Plus, just at a few kilometers you can admire the Anse des Rochers or visiting the city Saint-François, a really typical city where you can discover Creole traditions. I hope you took pleasure to discover the entire island but also that you enjoyed, despite your disappointment, our village and its facilities such as our typical restaurants and our giant pools. Regards, Pierre & Vacances Resorts – Sainte-Anne

The room was so dirty. No cleaning at all during our stay. Our room had an awful smell of mold and our clothes got damp because of the lack of ventilation. The interior need an upgrade for sure. The TV hanging on the wall in front of the bed, had a size of a 15” laptop - you couldnt see anything. And the bed... its more comfortable laying on a towel at the beach than sleep in this bed. Awful nights with lack of sleep. The water was turned off a few times every day without any notice. We didnt eat at the restaurant since we were preaparing our own meals. When we checked in, we got a map and an envelope with inadequate information. No information from the staff what so ever. We needed to ask for trashbags to our room, with help from google translate! We wanted to do some of the activites we read that the hotel offered. However, the activity house on the beach didnt seem to be very interested in offering any guidelines, tips or even renting out equipment. They were busy with eating lunch and couldnt say when they could help us. There is not enough parkinglots for the guests. We saw several cars parked in the middle of the road, however I understand them. In the bathroom there is a dangerous saloon door in front of the toilet. The doors are smashing very hard when closing, I even injured my finger because of that. The only positive was that its located close to the beatiful beaches and the hotel has a decent wifi. Its definetely NOT worth the money. There are much better places to stay at in Guadeloupe. There is not even a point talking with the reception. The staff cant or are not willing talking english with you. Horrible place. Dont go there.

Arrogant, lazy, unprofessional staff and outdated hotel, need urgent renovation. Once you arrive at the hotel you start notice the amateurish service from everyone involved in serving customers together with the Director.. I have been all over the world but this hotel is out of order. - Reception took us over 40 min to get our documents ready and release the keys for the rooms. -What you got for studio for 3 people- 1 shampoo, 1 blanket, 1 toilet paper, once these runs out you are doomed to buy new ones yourself. - -Toilet leaking, AC cannot be switched off, shower head broken, toilet door cannot be closed???? - Water in the resort stops at around 5-6 pm, you cant get a shower??? are you really kidding me....I think I shouldn't be only refunded, I am entitled for compensation to experience the horror of absence of just basic things. - Despite complaining for all of the above, no action was taken from any of the staff. --During first night AC couldn't be turned off, called the reception 5 times and nobody seems to be interested, then went to the reception myself and asked for a blanket for my daughter, waited 1 hour at 1 am in the night , whilst my child was shivering from the broken AC. -- Next day I went to the reception and asked to see the manager, first member of staff told me that Remy Zacarrini is having day off on Sundays, then the second receptionist unaware that I have asked already his colleague said that he starts a10-30 am, I went to see the manager at 11am, staff said then that he is on his meal break R u kidding me???? - Mr Remy Zacarrini you are as a hotel manager are arrogant and unprofessional so your staff is. I think you are sitting too comfortably in your office chair and your guests are getting rubbish service. I think you are too comfortable in this position I hope you get audit from somebody above you. Unless you are part of some kind of establishment. - All hotel staff lazy, unprofessional, security at the barrier falling asleep and too tired from napping even to walk and open the gate, cleaners sleeping on the trolley on front of the guests, receptionist untrained rude and unprofessional. - Almost 80% of the pool doors out of service / broken you cant get in or out , broken handles on everyone of it. - No beach towels despite paying over 1000 euros, I have been refused to have those. They said that I should have minimum stay of 7 days , perhaps I have to pay over 2000 euros to get a beach towel, are you kidding me?????? - Good things were only Gregg the person who leads the aqua moves and sport activities. He seemed to be the only person who works hard to get paid.. -- beach is nice and quiet, nice swimming pools. The rest is a joke, rubbish and amateurish, and it is not value for money, the hotel needs also urgent renovation, all the appliances are crap and you can notice mean rotten door frames etc... which need painting. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone, breakfast even cost like 16 euros :) To the director : Instead installing golden plate on your door with your name on it use the hotel money rationally. -MR Remy Zakarrini if you call this slum heavenly place, for us it was a hell of a place, I have been to many hotel around the world but you shouldn't represent your company, as you and your staff need an extensive training as you are simply disgrace for your beautiful country. -Ignorant staff, nothing is worst than ignoring customer complaints, remember we are the one who paying your wages,, once we stop coming you will go.....

Dear Guest, I thank you for your stay in our village Sainte-Anne in Guadeloupe and for taking the time to share this experience with the TripAdvisor community. I regret however to read about your dissatisfaction and I would like to come back on some points of your comment. First of all, I want to apologize for the inconveniences you faced in your accommodation. I assure you this is an unusual situation, our teams always do their best to welcome you in a clean, comfortable and warm apartment. Actually, we do care about offering you the best stay ever in our heavenly place and if you meet some problems about AC, leaking or any type of issues, be sure that you can ask our teams for help. I want to precise however, that Pierre & Vacances Sainte-Anne, such as most of our facilities, are not hotels but self-catering holidays, where you have to deal with your own food to cook in the kitchen or your own shampoo, blanket and toilet paper. About our teams now, I am so sorry if you can’t testify of their great consideration but let me say that I am really surprised by your remark. In fact, whether it is Mr. Zacarrini , the security staff or the cleaning agents, be sure that everybody makes everything they can to help you and assist you with kindness and professionalism. Our top priority is your satisfaction and your welfare. They always try to be available and entirely yours in case of exceptional issues or to answer to any of your questions. Despite your disappointment I am glad your enjoyed the incredible beach just right next to our village and also our pools, even if on that point too, you haven’t been totally satisfying. By the way, I confirm that towels can be rent for guests that stay at least 7 days. But most of all, I will for sure forward your compliments to Greg. I want to thank you on its behalf, I am happy to read that you had a good time during our sport activities. I also hope, you took advantage of the location of our residence to discover this wonderful island of Guadeloupe and that you admired its landscapes and its treasures. We recently stayed for 7 days with our 3 daughters, all young adults. We had a 2 bedroom unit, with a kitchenette. Things are a little dated, but for the money, we made this property work very well. The pools were very pleasant, not crowded, and clean. The beach was beautiful to sit and watch the waves. Not really super swimmable, because it is shallow and roped off for the deeper parts. Proximity to St Anne and St Francois was nice for exploring, grocery shopping and eating out was nice. We made dinner in our room many nights, which was actually very pleasant. Eating on the kitchen patio was very nice. Room was located an uphill hike from the lobby and pool areas. If you do not want to do a lot of walking, this might not be the place for you. I feel like any extra exercise is a good thing while vacationing. I would not recommend the buffet. Price is high for the food. Selection was pretty limited. Overall I would say that if you are not high maintenance, and can live without frills, this hotel would be a good option. There is no maid service, and even toilet paper is not included.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 days. We asked for beach towels and the cleaning lady and were told that because we only stayed for 2 days we were not eligible for either one. We had to ration toilet paper and towels. Food was distasteful,we only ate bread and cheese for 2 days. Staff was rude and insulting speeking to us in Creole. Our son in law is from there and he told us that they were insulting us in Creole. All in all we travel at least 5 times a year and this is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. Stay away from this horrible hotel. Rooms are very old and musty.

Dear Guest, I want to thank you for your short stay in our village Sainte-Anne in the heavenly island of Guadeloupe. I take note of your TripAdvisor comment however and I regret to read about your disappointment. I also want to come back on some negative points that impacted your holidays. I want to precise that in Pierre & Vacances, unlike a hotel, we propose independent apartment to rent. Sure there is a lot of services, quality installations and activities but when it comes to your accommodation it is entirely yours. Then yes, you have to buy your own food to cook in the kitchen or use the towels provided at your arrival for your entire short stay. We do offer some hotel services such as new towels and mid-stay or daily cleaning but as our staff told you, this is only for guests who stay seven nights at least. About our staff by the way, I am really surprised by your remark and I apologize if you didn’t feel well considered by our teams. Know that they are usually well-known for their kindness and their professionalism. Your satisfaction is their top priority and they always do everything they can to offer you a wonderful stay. Be sure that we will have a point about this situation which is absolutely unacceptable. Moreover, I am sad you didn’t appreciate the food proposed in our restaurants. Our cooking teams make their best to make you discover Creole specialties and share a wonderful time gathering with your loved ones in such an amazing atmosphere. About that, I hope, despite your disappointment, that you enjoyed installations of our resort such as our giant pool but that you also took advantage of the beach situated just right next to our village.
