We stayed here with our two kids (3.5 years and 1.5 years) and we all loved it. The kids went to the activity clubs (Bébé Club and Petit Club) during the day, so my husband and I could really relax and enjoy the resort. The kids loved the club, especially the show at the end of the week and the carers could not have been better. My son keeps asking to go back! The resort has lots of activities for kids and for adults but also places for quiet and relaxation, as well as trips to visit Guadeloupe, including one we could go on with the kids. Almost all the staff will speak English but a little bit of French will go a long way.

Just spent 11 days at La Caravelle with my two kids . The place is beautiful ; the rooms are spacious and very nice . The food is also quite good . I would like to start my review by saying a special thanks to Estelle, the GO responsible for the tennis activity . She has made our stay really unique ! She went above and beyond her duty as the tennis activity manager . I took some private tennis lessons with her and I can say that I have made great progress thanks to her patience and expertise . She has been amazing with me and my kids ! Thanks a lot Estelle and I wish the best for you ! I would also like to thank the mini club team as my kids spent some great moments with them ( in particular Tigrou, Piop Piop and the 4-5 years team). I have also tried the kite surf lessons and I was very impressed by the professionalism of Greg and his team , Greg gave me great lessons and I would definitely recommend him . Last but not least, I would like also to thank Olivier, the person responsible for the diving activity . He was very patient with my 8 year old for his first diving experience and I am very grateful for that as my son is now passionate about diving .…

I stayed at the club Med for 2 weeks from May 6 to May 20. As many have stated this is an all French resort with limited bilingual English French Service. That being said I had a wonderful time at the resort as the workers were overly kind though I had limited French speaking capabilities. To help facilitate communication I would use google translate and pass notes at the reception, bars, or restaurant which worked effectively well. It avoided confusion and probably helped give better service. I give this resort a 4 star for one reason only, the room. The food was amazing, the beach was the best on the island with limited seaweed, the workers were extremely kind, but for approximately the same money spent, when I stayed at the Royalton in Saint Lucia, there I had a luxury room, much larger in size, everything newer. I did choose the smaller Club Med size room, which was my choice, as it was situated closer to the beach, but it would have been nice had the room been updated. Other than the odd mosquito getting in, the room had no bugs, and though the building generally had its entry doors open to access the beach, there were no bugs in the hallway either. There was a wide variety of food that was endless and never ran out. If you like your hamburgers well done versus red/bloody, you just have to tell the chef and they will prepare it for you. Finding a table was a little different than other resorts I have been too where they seat you. At this resort you found your own table which is Ok and I understand why as there are just too many guests to give that level of service. There was one bar that made excellent drinks while the other bars I found just gave too much liquor and the drinks ended up tasting bitter. Perhaps it was the local rum used I don't know. Every morning the beach was cleaned of guests debris and for the limited seaweed that came on shore. Security was amazing as I watched them remove non guests from the chairs. It was done in a professional manner but I watched one non guest freak out for having to sit on the sand. If you don't pay you don't deserve a chair. I do feel that there should be more umbrellas or cabana loungers on the beach. To get a Cabana lounger on the beach it was best to get up early. The sun is intensely hot and you need shade. For me however it was the friendliness of the staff that would make me go back. It was also the friendliness of other guests from either Quebec or France whom at times volunteered and translated on my behalf. They did not have to but that kindness I appreciated. The power did go out a couple of times and my air conditioning system I feel acted up but the resort did get it working better. I do think however that the resort should have more English programming on tv. There were 3 English channels I believe but they were all news channels. I would have preferred to have at least one English channel like NBC, ABC, CBS or Fox to watch in the evening. Overall I loved the resort though I thought the room could have been better. We were a groupe of 28. A stay of 5 days and 4 nights . $ 1000.00 a night for me and my husband. Air conditioning didn't work 27.5 (very humid) ceiling fan ,fridge, hair blower coffe maker nothing worked Grrrr. First day i went to the desk to have make a complaint about my AC and ceiling fan. Asked to change room and was told with a bit of rudness that somebody will come by during the day to fix the Ac and check for the fan. Came back to the room NOTHING Grrr. Went a second time 2 days after told another person of the staff my story again . We will send someone a gain Guess what ?? Haha it's if they dont give a sh.. about you at all still 27.5 . I speak canadienne french but not there francais it seems to get on there nerves .Its if there fed up with tourists :( But there is no way i will be going to this place again. Club Med my gosh i have been to 3 star hotels that were way better than this for alot less money . Always liked Spending money for a vacation but give me what its worth and dont laugh to my face about it. The rest was ok we had fun with our groupe. But don't waste your money on this place there are soooo many places that are worth alot more then this place and alot more friendly. First time ever that i make complaint . But worth it .…

Time to write my review of Club Med Caravelle. This is going to be a tough review to do, at the end I will be giving it a full 5 stars but there are some details that need to be discussed. First of all this is a French resort that caters to French and Canadian French. I think we were the whole American contingency at the club, so 6 of us. This is much different than 30 years ago when 2 737s brought planes of Americans to Caravelle. The staff is mostly locals and French. Everyone is very nice, but there is limited English. If you cannot deal with that, go to Columbus Isle. We arrived and had a lot of trouble checking in, we got put on a bus with the Canadian flight and that seemed to cause a lot of confusion. Once reception figured it out we were on our way to our rooms. Checkout was another story, reception could not get our flight time correct (and I showed them my flight on my phone) and if not for us repeatably checking and finally just going to a bus with our luggage we would still be there. We were in Marie Gallant, wonderful view, nice room, but on Monday night there is a beach party. Our room was rocking. We complained to reception and were told, if you think you are upset you should see how upset the people in the Zen Oasis are. I guess someone being more upset was meant to make us feel better? I was not impressed with the women on the sailing team. I have done a LOT of sailing and I was following the tack most of the boats were taking. This was my third time out and for some reason she was not happy with my tack. She was in a follow boat and spoke no English so I was working at communicating and finally she just made me come in. I was unable to find out what I did wrong. Now if you are still reading this you wonder how I can give this place 5 stars. It is because most of the issues come down to language and that is not the fault of a resort that caters to French. So lets get to what makes Club Med wonderful. FIrst and formost the beach was amazing. As you may have read sargassum has attacked the Carribean. Every morning they completely cleared the beach. We saw other beaches that would have been unusable. The water is fantastic. There were plenty of chairs to be had and a lot of shade. The sailboats are 15 foot Hobie Cats, a blast to sail and the wind was good every day. The Zen pool is something to see. It would be nice to have a bar at it, but the Almandin is close by. As for bar tenders the local staff seems to make the best drinks. Several really go the extra mile to make a great drink (Lyvio, Jonas, Diedrick, and a couple others whose names I forget) Get the Ti Punch, NO ice. The food was good, there was always a good option, and the barbeque area always was a good choice. The Marie Galant rooms were good, air conditioning worked well. We did a half day tour, I suggest doing a full doing a tour as it is a long bus ride to spend 45 minutes at a small waterfall. The Gardens they took us too were fantastic. OK - so the majority of my less than ideal vacation comments are my own fault. I didn't properly process the fact that this is a French Club Med in the Caribbean. I should have learned a few phrases, written out my drink requests, etc. to make a more enjoyable week. The location is gorgeous; the facilities are good; most staff members were friendly and helpful. My lack of French limited activities, but, again, that's on me. The restaurant was a highlight - Jeremy and his staff create an exceptional dinner experience. There were plenty of cabanas available on the beach. Room was comfortable; there was always something interesting on the buffet. We enjoyed a great week. On the negative side, the Monday beach party went on until after 1 a.m. - too long and too loud. The excursion was too long on a bus for too little sightseeing. And the biggest issue was the incompetence of the reception desk - they seemed surprised by our arrival and completely botched our transport to the airport. We visited drawn by the British TV series "Death in Paradise" which showed a beautiful island, and we weren't disappointed. Club Med set us up with Greg of Guadeloupe Guide PRO who was GREAT. He showed us the rain forests, water falls, plantations, the plants and animals as well as the sets used in the TV series. Beautiful clear water, great beaches and friendly people. Greg was knowledgeable and showed us what we wanted and more. We really enjoyed our trip with him. The Club Med was nice - great beach (could use some umbrellas for shade), and great food. Not everyone spoke English (or Texan in our case) but we got by. Good trip.

This was a makeup trip following a horrible experience at Caravelles resort in Guadeloupe pre-COVID. Caravelles did not respect conditions agreed to during booking, were rude about their failure and following far too much drama offered our 2 families $1,000 vouchers. Vouchers conveniently expired due to COVID. Despite requests at booking for March 2023 these were not applied. Follow up post trip has Guest Relations blaming everyone else and ignoring these. I have no interest in giving them a third chance at making things right. The foul taste from Caravelles should have been addressed immediately. The corporate culture is generally rude given their industry. There are far kinder and more caring operators for you to choose from.

I had the best time at club med but especially the circus!! Going on the trapeze is really scary but I was always supported and encouraged by all the staff. The experience at the circus was even more fun because I got to connect with Evan, Shona and Hamza during the trapeze as well as the evenings. They are all incredible people and even better GO’s! Just love this Club Med. The food was good, not 5 stars but I would give it a 4. The GEO where really helpfull and present when you needed them. And just adorable. The beach was really nice and clean, just a bit of sargass but on one day only and it was concentrate towards the end of the beach. What made that place interesting was also the people, wow everyone is so nice, carrying and helpful.
