This is only a 2 star hotel, so let's be reasonable in the expectations.Since we did not intend to spend much time inside the room it was adequate in the circumstances. The room was comfortable and the bathroom modern. Good pressure in the shower . Soundproofing is not great and we could hear our neighbours. WiFi worked well in the room and at the pool. Good buffet breakfast. Parking turned out OK despite our worries when we arrived since there is a lot of traffic on the beach road. The only problem is price (100 euros) but everything in Guadeloupe is expensive.
This place is very basic I guess you could say. The rooms are very dark. Walls are dingy and stained. Beds are somewhat dilapidated. Although, it is very close to a very nice beach and just down the road from a very nice restaurant. If you don’t care much about where you’re sleeping, then this is the place for you. It does have great surroundings. The AC works great and the rooms seem clean. However, they are like I said before.. dingy. WiFi does not reach the rooms very well. The staff is very polite on the bright side.
We stayed one night, not expected, and actually really enjoyed the 2 days spent there. The staff was particularly helpfull on arrival (early arrival) and at check-out (late check-out), and throughout our little stay. L'et's be clear, it is 2 stars, so not perfect, but clean and functional, located next to a beautiful beach. Breakfast is basis but good, very good quality/ratio price. Good air conditioning, basic but clean bathroom with good water pressure and hot water in the shower :)
When review a hotel you need to take the star rating and price into consideration. This is a 2 star hotel in the Caribbean so opinions must be realistic given the property. Certainly the best thing about the hotel is its location right next to the beach at Caravelle/Club Med. This is one of the nicest beaches and given that all beaches are open to the public, one of the most popular. Many people drive to the road where Le Rotabas is located and it gets very congested and a huge hassle. But if you stay at this hotel you just leave the property, walk 100 yards and you are at the beach! The hotel itself is nothing special but the rooms and lobby are very clean, though the room is one the 'basic side'. There are few amenities but the air conditioner works well and the shower was hot. Given the great beach, not much time was spent in the room. The continental breakfast was nothing elaborate but it was a more than adequate. The level of service from the staff is not great but that might have been partly because of the language issues. There is mostly someone there who speaks English but it might take a while to get your point across. Also there is no Wifi in the rooms and I am not sure how good it was in the lobby since I have T-Mobile and you get unlimited data just about anywhere in the world. We didn't have a car but it was only a 15 minute walk into town that we did regularly. A few times we walked home late but always felt safe. The Kote Sud restaurant right near our hotel was the best meal we had in Guadeloupe. So if you want to save money by staying in a 2 star hotel, don't like a lot of creature comforts and want to be near the beach, this hotel is not a bad choice.…
Stranded by Liat in Guadeloupe, the helpful airport staff finally found 9 rooms in this hotel (am not surprised). Long way from the airport. Hotel very tired and dilapidated with very small and constricted rooms (see photo of langouste 2.3), the bar is the reception and the restaurant was empty apart from us. The Chef tried hard but chicken and rice is not difficult. As we were being picked up at 06.00 breakfast was not an option. Staff try hard but suspect they feel like the rest of us. Avoid.
The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is the location is convenient, walkable to the club med beach and the Kote Sud restaurant up the street which is fabulous. Rooms are very old (although clean) , no hot water and overall impression very dated and tired. Not worth the cost.
This place has very little going for it except proximity to a decent restaurant up the road and a beach about 10min away. They don't speak English and are minimally helpful. There is nowhere nearby to get Euros so if you came in without them (as we did, on a boat from Dominica) then you're out of luck to pay for anything in the area, or even for a brief phone call to order a taxi, for which the front desk will ask for cash. The accommodations themselves were just ok. There are a ton of mosquitoes around and the pool is pretty basic. The area behind the place is run down and dumpy. The restaurant shack/stand looked far from appetizing and I am really at a loss to come up with any major positive characteristics of this property itself (except, as mentioned above, that it's *near* a few decent things).…
Pros: BEST BEACH right around the corner. People come from far and wide to go here, from all over the planet and from all over the island they travel to sit on this particular stretch of beach... perfect if this is what you mostly want to do. Easy walk on tree lined path along a breezy stretch of beach to chairs, food, drinks, music... ENOUGH ENGLISH to get by, better if you speak some French, but not necessary here. The people are warm and kind and willing to help. FOOD is not great, but coffee is hot enough to get you up and going... I ate fresh cut mango and coconut on the beach for my breakfast, and crepes for lunch, and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance for dinner, cheap enough if you want, classy if you prefer. ACTIVITIES are not right near here, but rental cars and taxi's certainly are! The island is not really big so you can drive around it in a day. Some people chose to stay on the other side, but they said WEATHER was not as nice as this side, especially in this cove!!! And we had cover of many trees, so a break from the sun or the occasional raindrops that where very brief. Cons: AIRPORT is only about 30 minutes in the morning when the traffic is down. If you go at commuter time, it will be double. CLEANLINESS is not perfect, but adequate enough if you plan to just sleep and shower off your sand from the beach. AMENITIES - well, if you are expecting anything like we have in the states, then just stay in the states.... this is a Island culture with European facilities. I'm open to it, why no? WiFI only available in the lobby, and TV only in French, but I didn't go to be connected to anything but the ocean... so what!?!…
Very bad, it says on booking.com that they speak English but I think there's only one person that do, and she's not here that much. The breakfast is included in the price but it's extremely bad, almost nothing. The price is way to high for this bad service and bad breakfast. They don't make the beds when they clean the rooms. And the Internet, it works for like a minute before you get logged out, and then you have to log on again, and it's a very long password.
Really enjoyed our stay here! Amelie the owner/manager was extremely accommodating and spoke great English which was essential for us. Our flight got in later than the check-in time but Amelie stayed open late to show us to our room. The breakfast was light but perfect for a day on the beach. The room was clean, spacious and very quaint, perfect for a beach get-away. It was a 5 min walk to the best beach in Sainte Anne, Plague La Caravalle. It was 1.5 miles from the center of Sainte Anne where you can find shops, restaurants, bars and another great beach. The airport is about a 50 Euro, 25 minute taxi ride away from Le Rotabas and Amelie had a taxi waiting for us at 5:00 am on our check-out day. Overall, we were extremely happy with our stay here and recommend it to anyone traveling to Guadeloupe. We didn't know much about Guadeloupe going into this trip but this spot was the perfect location and price.…
