Spent February 14-22nd with my wife. The Owners, James and Amanda run a true Jamaican experience .From the daily made to order cuisine to the garden type atmosphere. It fit our needs perfectly. Their staff was always attentive and made us feel secure .The beach was raked daily and chairs placed out beachfront for the guests .Meals are served very...

Wonderful authentic Jamaican food coupled with some regular favorites provide appetizing meal options on property. Great beach view, friendly staff and unique surroundings make this a taste of Jamaica full of personality and local flavor. Comfortable mattresses and powerful fans create a pleasant sleeping environment despite the humidity and heat. Can't wait to be back at the Whistling Bird!

If you want to really experience jamaican hospitality this is the place. Major renovations, upgrades, and training have occurred since the original owners have passed and left the property to their son James. Food is good. Mattresses are good. Staff is awesome including round the clock securit. Not the best water pressure or temperatures, bugs, lizards, people selling stuff on...

It was the perfect place for my partner and I. The staff was very kind and accommodating. We got engaged on the beach at sunset and the staff went out of their way to make it extra special and romantic. This was our first time to Jamaica and in the future the whistling bird will always be the place where...

I recently went to Jamaica for the 1st time and stayed at Whistling Bird for a few nights. What a delight! No...this is not Sandals...THANK GOD! This is a family-owned and operated business that has been around for a long time. Amanda and James were so friendly and always eager to make everything just right for us. The open air...

I just went there with a big group and I felt like I was in heaven. I think a lot of the negative reviews of this hotel stem out of people who may not understand that the hotel is not like Sandals where there is a first-world style of service, whereas the whistling bird is run by Jamaicans and the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Beach cottages in a unique enclave. Totally immersed in nature, intensively landscaped. The cottages can be large or small, simple or deluxe. Whistling Bird offers amenities, several are unique. It's a small family business - an UNhotel, yet we have a pretty full slate of service to offer. We can do food and drink, a simple breakfast or dinner for example. What we really like to do is show off fine dining with our five course meal plan of refined Jamaican dishes. ... more   less
