I will probably never go back to Jamaica. That may sound like I didn't enjoy my trip, but it couldn't be further from the truth. The thing is, my husband and I don't like to stay at the same place more than once. Part of the thrill of a vacation for us is the newness and the discovery. We learned... More

This property is simply breathtaking. No beaches, here. Rather, one may either jump off a 33', 30', 28', 20', 18', 10' or 5' cliff into the sea and float on stunning pristine waters. Somewhat ungainly ladders allow access back onto land so, for the elderly, refraining from water activities may be the better option. This resort is a handful of... More

....But when I found this place, it called me. Literally called me. I loved how small and intimate it is. I loved the personal service. I LOVED when the bartenders go off-shift they leave the bar open and you can help yourself. It's truly home away from home but with all these great new friends you meet. Our intention, initially,... This was everything that was advertised. Wonderful staff, beautiful views and delicious food. I don't have much to add to what I read in the reviews prior to my trip. The staff will call you by name during your entire stay. Paul and Clive were great. I loved snorkeling and jumping off the cliffs and socializing with them. The food... More

Paradise! Counting down the days until we can go back. Truly magical in every sense. Stayed for 8 days, didn't want or need to leave the resort once. Food was delicious (I have Celiac Disease and they are accommodating). Tip: wake up early to snag one of the enclaves to relax and suntan all day, there are only three and... More

We visited The Caves for a week in August. It is hot! Aside from that, this property and people are awesome! The View -It is hard to believe the views when eating breakfast and lunch and sitting in the sun chairs. It seems surreal. The Food - Each meal was different and the best food I have ever had at... This place is amazing. They make you feel welcome and like the entire property is yours. I love being able to help ourselves to whatever we wanted. Everything was immaculate. They food was also what you would expect from a coastal town. Very fresh and tasty. We spent three nights here but wished we had two or three more. My... More

This place is really nice, and it’s also not for everyone. While the vibe is cool and relaxing and unlike a typical resort, the limited air conditioning was harder for me to take than I thought it would be, especially because I don’t like over-air-conditioned rooms. Still, this is the place to come to drink in the gorgeous views and... More

We're a pretty well-traveled couple but have spent most of our vacations in Mexico All-Inclusives, cruises, or St. Martin. This was our first time trying Jamaica out. Boy - are we glad we did. This has popped up to the top of our must-do again vacations. We split our vacation between two Negril resorts - The Caves on the cliff... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Caves sits along the limestone cliffs of the West End of Negril, right next to the famous Negril Lighthouse in Jamaica. Although situated only a few miles away from the bustling town center, this private enclave is a world apart. Eleven handcrafted wood and stone thatched-roof cottages, plus a 4-bedroom fully self-contained luxury villa, are interwoven between ten acres of lush vegetation and naturally formed volcanic caves. Quaint stone pathways wind through the limestone cliffs dotted with palm, sea grape and dogwood trees overlooking the Caribbean Sea. An arrangement of coral stairs and walkways lead to sundecks with uninterrupted views of the sea and sky, and grottos with turquoise water pools and fossilized marine life. A tropical reef system comes right up to the edge of the cliff, perfect for snorkeling. Guests can climb down ladders into the sea or take a leap from several “jump points,” the highest of which is 30 feet! An intimate, private and unique resort, The Caves is perfect for romance and relaxation. The Caves generally does not accept children under 16 years old. Exceptions must be cleared with the hotel management. ... more   less
