I rated them 4/5 because it was wonderful. The staff went out of their way to make me feel at home. They respected us and took care of us. Even the manager found some ackee to give me when I told her the USA prices for a can. The help staff kept the place clean, and was always there without me asking if I needed a towel, chair or something. So the service was very good. The only thing was that when we arrived our room was not set up with a telephone and the safe was not working. By the next day all was fixed to our satisfaction. We also had to ask for a few details that were not provided upon check in.
I stayed at the Idle Awhile Cliffs property and it was so relaxing. Very friendly people and the food that Jody (Chef) prepared was to die for. Definitely worth coming again in March with my girlfriend ☺️
What an absolute gem. I can't say enough good things about this place and our experience. They truly make you feel at home and it is almost as if you have your own personal resort. Nacko did wonders in the kitchen and everything was fresh and delicious. We were super sad when it was time to say goodbye. Until next time. Respect to the entire staff. FYI - Be sure to have cash for tips. The closest ATM is in town and they were not allowing us to leave tips on the receipts for anything at the bar or restaurant.
We enjoyed a few days between the holidays at this beautiful, intimate, cliff side resort. The grounds are lovely, the staff is attentive and friendly, and the made to order breakfasts were delicious. Our garden view suite was large, had a very nice open shower/large bathroom. The wraparound veranda with hammock was a nice place to enjoy a red stripe and the constant breeze. The sliding double doors can be fully opened and allow for fresh air to come in. The in suite kitchen is also appreciated and convenient. We loved being able to take the daily shuttle to Idle Awhile Beach and we spent quite a lot of time using the beach and bar there. Claudia at the bar and Aaron at the beach are especially great. We also appreciated the convenience of charging food and beverage back to our room account at the Cliffs. Overall we loved our time at Idle Awhile and look forward to returning. A few small suggestions that would improve the experience, in my opinion. First, put a French press or drip coffeemaker in each room. You have kitchens with blenders, fridges, stoves, and toaster ovens, but no coffeemaker? It doesn’t make sense, particularly with how delicious Jamaican coffee is. The kitchens could also use towels or paper towels. Second, put some music on down at the pool area in the afternoons. Some low reggae would make it a little more inviting and fun. Again, these are small suggestions. We hope to return soon. Thanks for a great vacation. …
Went for a long weekend and though it wasn’t long enough-I will return. Quiet, beautiful serene. Sandra -aNd the whole staff there treat you like family.. Food is excellent and so are the accommodations. I think it’s my 3rd time there... it’s still Hide awhile to me. My love to Monday...
