The Westender Inn was a great start to my vacation. I booked a cottage for 3 nights before moving into Montego Bay to meet my travel group. I was very nervous at first being that I was traveling alone. Padgi the bartender made me fell very welcomed and put all my fears at ease. Tino was my driver. He took me shopping and stayed close by to make sure I was ok. I felt very safe and protected. Tino is a very knowledgeable man with a great sense of humor. Santoni is a very talented performer and will one day become a star. Mr Brown made sure of my safety and was very good company for me. The food was delicious! I tried all new foods. The curried goat, oxtails and the lobster omelet are things you must try. I felt peace and love during my stay. I will always return to the Westender. It will forever be my home away from home. One love Mon!

During our 8-nights stay (Grace storm came by…), we really could appreciate having cool interactions with staff, people here are so nice ( Coleen, Toni, San,…plus people from JUTA, Franklin, Robert), We had such an incredible view on the sea from our room, we could experience sunset, falling rain, high wind, amongst tropical plants and trees, The food there is amazing with national dishes every day (we had a bonfire on Sunday night), Then, it is such a peaceful place, out of the highly touristic resorts, Jamaican soul is living here, for sure.

Honeymoon suite was lovely and clean with a queen size bed. Ensuring that the room is fully prepared (TV is functioning, fridge, microwave, bedside lights are plugged in etc., hammocks are set-up ready for use), along with full complement of toiletries (including bathmats and face flannels), would enhance the welcoming experience. Also we suggest that the honeymoon suite be made to feel as such. For example include a coffeemaker along with cups and glasses; create a heart shaped towel on the bed, especially for newlyweds/special anniversaries etc., Provide a BIGGER table in the room that will enable to couple to eat together comfortably without concerns about the plates falling off the table; Provide brochures of things to do in Negril and surrounding areas. Food was great - plentiful and delicious and price was reasonable. It was better eating onsite rather than in the town, with respect to quality and price of food. Outside is well kept and clean. The four pools were lovely and warm. The staff were friendly. However, I would suggest that all staff be in uniform (including those at the office desk) so that we can distinguish them from the patrons. Also, it will increase the professional look. Despite the suggestions for improvement, our 30th anniversary experience at Westender Inn was marvelous and we will definitely return. Thank you Westender Inn!

We give this 5 stars for what it is and for meeting our expectations. It is an excellent place for serenity and isolation. The private waterfront (not a traditional beach) is fantastic. And it is comfortably isolated from the rest of Negril. If you want to be in the middle of everything, then don't come here. If you want serenity, no parties, and just a nice place to chill, then this is the place to be. If this sounds familiar, it should be, because this is how I started my review for Rhodes Beach Resort.

This place is really away from everything, so you are either all-in or not. One piece of advice, take a free ride (plus tips) into town to buy a lot of water bottles. This will help with the heat and reduce your cost a bit.
We spent countless hours sitting at the waterfront infinity pools, and at the garden-side pool. No watercraft whatsoever interfered with the serenity. We also enjoyed food that was cooked daily at the one restaurant on the premises.
We stayed at the Bora Bora cottage, garden-side. This was a nice set up because we did not share walls with anyone. We felt safely away, but still part of a safe community of cottages. Service: Imagine asking for help and getting it without complaint. That was our experience. Staff consistently went above and beyond to help us out, as well as other guests. But we felt pretty special. Bear in mind that local people sometimes come to the resort (off-season), but the staff assisted in working with their presence in locally affirmative ways. In other words, we were guests of Jamaica and things worked out.

 Personal Safety. Not an issue.

Expense: We got a package deal (airfare and hotel) from Priceline. In addition to that expense, we spent about $1100 for two people on food, plus transportation to and from the airport. That was within our budget. It is half to one-third of what you will pay at an all-inclusive resort.

Frame of reference: My wife and I have traveled all over the world. I personally have lived in the Caribbean. Our stance is that if you want to the Ritz-Carlton, then stay at the Ritz-Carlton. If you want a comfortable experience that is fun, a little above no-frills, and very relaxing, then this is the place.

My husband and I traveled to Negril, Jamaica with the intent of doing absolutely nothing. We decided that the Westender Inn would be a great place to stay for us since it was a remote location, far away from any hustle and bustle of a nearby town. We were not disappointed. I loved just about everything about the Westender Inn. Our room was a deluxe room that had an ocean view. It was very pretty and comfortable. The salt water infinity pools that were right by the cliffs were relaxing and cool. I lounged in one and watched the waves crash against the rocks over and over. The over all atmosphere is calming and relaxing and peaceful. In addition to a nice place to lay our heads, the food at the Westender Inn was outstanding. Since it's remote and Negril is a good 20 minutes away, we ate at Westie's, the restaurant on the grounds at the Westender. We did not have a single bad meal our entire stay. The food was fresh and flavorful, and I wish I could replicate my meals I had there, here at home. The staff was friendly and helpful. Bruce, one of the groundskeepers, drove us into Negril one day and found out I loved mangos. When we got back, he picked a breadfruit and three mangos and delivered them to our door. Colleen was out housekeeper and she kept our room neat as a pin. Our bartenders would make these delicious smoothies out of fresh mango, papaya and banana. The coffee we had in the morning, served to us by Natasha, was always hot and fresh. Dan, the owner, was on the grounds and he made sure we were comfortable and gave great suggestions for places to eat and places to relax on the beach when we went into Negril. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing location. A place that is away from all the crowds, then the Westender Inn would be a great place to go to recharge and let go of all your stress. It's clean, beautiful, has a great staff, and marvelous food. The view is breathtaking. I hope we get to go back and if we do, I'd stay at the Westender again.
