I know this is a long-winded review but I was wishing somebody had laid it out like this for me so I would have been better prepared for my vacation... I'll be honest, after landing in Kingston and riding by shuttle for nearly 3 hours in the rain through the Blue Mountains and Parish after Parish of both gut-wrenching poverty...

My husband and I stayed at Kanopi House for 4-5 nights over the Christmas period. We stayed in the Almond Tree. The whole property is absolutely amazing, and our room was spectacular! We absolutely loved the setting - surrounded by lush rainforest flora - and the incessant sound of insects and birds. Absolutely lovely! Unlike other reviewers, we saw snails...

Well, let's get started. Jamaica is just beautiful, specifically near Port Antonio. Anywhere else you will see blue ocean, lagoon, woods and falls like here. There aren't many restaurants to go around, but most hotels have their own cuisine. Here, in Kanopi House, not only the rooms were perfect, the cuisine too. It was great waking up in the middle...

Kanopi House, truly magical place had an amazing time with my family. Timothy was a great host and made us feel at home. I was born in Jamaica and my Mom was born in Portland. I had no idea this secret was in our back yard. Words can't explain this magical paradise. Boxer was a true champ thank for our...

I LOVED my stay at Kanopi House! The setting is breathtakingly gorgeous, the staff was amazing, and the blue lagoon is steps away! (and by steps, I mean stairs... there are a lot of stairs. Like a scenic fitness center). The experience was unique in that you could ask for anything and someone would deliver. Did you forget bug spray...

I tend to favor small lesser known properties that are high on aesthetics and personal service and this was paradise for me! Our group of 13 (3 families, adults, teens and kids) just returned from a holiday in Jamaica (Ocho Rios, Negril and Port Antonio). We had a spectacular action packed holiday with lots of beaching, boating, snorkeling, visiting waterfalls,...

What a fantastic place! I just wish we had been warned about the million steps we had to climb! This property is for the fit! We had no hot water and water was unavailable on Saturday! Two of us had to forgo a shower to go eat dinner. Water returned when we came back! Food was okay my seafood was...

Kanopi House is truly a magical property; the lush vegetation and peaceful atmosphere cannot be fully described, it is something you must experience. The tiered grounds are set into the hillside and everything around you is a very rich green as foliage, trees and vines cascade everywhere. Essentially this is the grown up version of an intimate tree house community...

Kanopi is undoubtedly one of the best kept secrets in Portland, if not Jamaica altogether. Aside from beautiful jungle setting, exotic rooms (we stayed in Almost Tree), and of course the Blue Lagoon, what makes it especially memorable are the people. Karla is the kindest of hosts as well as a very talented and capable cook. Black Pearl also very...

What can we say? The food is incredible. Black Pearl is the nicest young man you ever want to meet! Boxer knows so much that we're bringing our son back to have him learn about Jamaica at his feet. We loved every second of our stay! This place is heaven on earth. The ONLY drawback is there can be very...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tucked away in the folds of the eco-friendly zone of Portland, where the shoreline hugs the sea and the nights glow as much as the days, stands the emblem of respite, relaxation and all things in between. It sits snugly among the trees, embraces the ideally cool temperatures and complements the natural habitat. It offers a peacefully endowed atmosphere, not uncommon to truly tranquil scenes and all those who enter therein can claim its soothing and rejuvenating powers. Kanopi House was created as the ideal getaway location and is unique since it offers no disturbance of its natural environments. Its structure also adds to its modern day charm and it is one with nature.
