After a week at an all-inclusive near Montego Bay in early February, we wanted to experience the more "authentic" Jamaica with several additional days off the beaten tourist track and far away from the cruise ships. The Port Antonio area, and more specifically the Resort at Wilks Bay seemed perfect for this purpose. Our expectations were exceeded, to say the...

James and Mary run a brilliant gem in Port Antonia. We have travelled all over the island and stayed in many hotels including Goldeye. Everything works and the cooks are the best we have ever had on 25 visits to Jamaica. Plus they take you to local events...vinyl night,The Jolly Boys playing etc if you want Great location and a...

Visited Wilks Bay for a week with my close friends and family to celebrate my belated 50th B-day and my son's actual 18th B day. It was our 4th trip to Port Antonio and once again Mary & James went out of their way to make sure everyone had a great stay. The staff is caring and warm. They make...

What an awesome place. We sought relaxation and we found it and more at Wilks Bay. The bay is stunning. A beautiful backdrop which you have a direct view of from your accommodation. Lovely pools, plenty of grounds for kids (and adults) to run around in. Small private beach worked tirelessly on by the team to keep in tip top...

If you are looking for the real thing, this is Jamaica. Wilks Bay has recaptured the heyday of tourism for the rich and famous in 1960s Port Antonio at a reasonable cost. It is a small family run business with the owners on site attending to every detail. The stylish accommodation, beach, pool and grounds are kept spotless by a...

The location and view from this resort are amazing; and the on-site property owners and staff are even better. My wife and I traveled from Pennsylvania in the middle of January to celebrate a friend's birthday. What an excellent time we had! Although this was our first time in Jamaica, a return visit to Wilks Bay is definitely on our...

It is difficult not to simply repeat what other reviewers have written, but I will try. Wilks Bay is wonderful! Our family of four was looking for an out of the way (not a big all-inclusive resort), experience type vacation spot in Jamaica and Wilks Bay was perfect. We did not want the crowds, the bars, or the resort food....

I struggled with how to rate the Resort at Wilks Bay. The trouble was not with Wilks Bay itself-- not at all. The trouble is the rating system, as Wilks Bay exists somewhere outside the typical but restrictive 1-5 stars ranking. Asking me to pick a star level for Wilks Bay is like asking me to rate a visit to...

We had such a wonderful time at Wilks Bay. James and Mary were excellent hosts, and the location was breathtaking. We particularly enjoyed snorkling in the bay, hanging out in the freshwater pool, and the AMAZING cooking of our housekeeper/hostess Nadine. Make sure you request mackerel rundown, ackee and saltfish, coco tea and homemade sorrel juice with ginger. Fantastic overall!

We visited the area to attend a Wedding at the Trident Castle. Wilks Bay was a perfect place for pretty much all we needed. Accommodations were very comfortable; we rented a 1 bedroom on the second floor with a balcony. Assigned cook/cleaner was excellent as we ate red snapper, shrimp and lobster Jamaican style. We ate on our balcony overlooking...
