I've had the pleasure of staying at Great Huts 3 times. Most recently it was to present a couple of films at their "Cinema Paradise" film festival over the summer. The property is naturally beautiful and dramatic; rustic huts intertwined with trees and little footpaths, all perched atop a cliff overlooking Boston Bay. It's a great place to go for...

Definitley the best hotel we have ever been to! It is a one-of-a-kind hotel with superb service and rustic facilities. We orginally booked the Lemba Hut, but got upgraded to the Sea Grape just because it was available. And even though the Lemba hut was awesome, the Sea Grape was stunning! Our own pool outside so close to the edge,...

Singlehandedly, the best hostel/hotel I have ever stayed in! Truly unique and magical! A place like no other. I came to Jamaica seduced by this place and the reality very much exceeded my expectations. I stayed there for 4 days and didn't get the chance to see the whole place. It's a magical maze of huts, sculptures, viewing platforms, pools,...

We planned to stay 4 days in Boston bay but just could not leave. We immediately fell in love with this unique place; there is no place like it! Around the area there are many bays and lagoons (Frenchman cove, Blue lagoon ect..) perfect for daily visits. Making great huts the perfect home base to explore the surrounding by taxi...

We really enjoyed our stay at great huts. The location including the pool and beach were great and we loved the quirky decor of the communal areas including the hut. We stayed at the fig tree house which was stunning overlooking the cliffs with a great view of the ocean and coast line. We loved the huge bath tub although...

I visited Great Huts with my family for a weekend of relaxation mixed with business. My husband was invited to contribute to the cultural programme being offered there, which includes traditional dance, film screenings and Rastafari lectures with scholars from Jamaica and the USA. There is something completely tranquil, free and uplifting about this place. You won't understand until you...

It was coming up to the end of our Summer and I desperately wanted to take the kids on one more Family excursion before my little daughter starts her 1st year of High School. The kids had always spent the summer in Boston and this would be their 1st Jamaican Vacation.... I really wanted them to have a fantastic Summer...

I drove down the bumpy road into Great Huts with excitement... I had told my wife of all of our plans on our Jamaican tour, but saved this place as a secret for our anniversary. Passing through the gates is really like entering another world, the deepest tropics, a jungle landscape at once conjuring shipwrecked despair and a profound mysticism....

I spent a night at the Great Huts in Boston Bay. Not the ubiquitous offering a standardized all inclusive setting that many have come to expect in parts of Jamaica, Great Huts has character, individuality, uniqueness, and the type of accommodation that provides an impression that will always remain with you. The hotel has a number of different huts spaced...

First, these are huts; no real walls, definitely no air con, shared bathrooms and showers for most huts and mosquito nets are necessary. If that's all ok for you, and even if it's just at the edge of your comfort zone, this place is wonderful. We stayed in the Kaya hut which was very large, had 2 double beds on...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Great Huts: Paradise on the Edge is an oceanfront resort on the lush northeastern tip of Jamaica. Modeled after a traditional African village, at once both rough-hewn and modern, it is a convergence of nature, heritage, spirituality and technology. Off the beaten path, but not far from the bustle and night life of Boston Bay and Port Antonio, Great Huts' jungle-cliff-beach habitat is a distinctive ecological and cultural experience. The African hut and Amerindian tree-house dwellings studded throughout the meandering, five-acre compound are comfortably furnished and decorated with uncommon African and Jamaican artifacts. ... more   less
