You are paying for location at this place. It cannot get any closer to the beach without having waves hit your room. Beautiful stay but the room is very small! Do not expect a good room. As long as you know you are paying for...More
So. beachfront property is key, and this is gorgeous. But $200 a night for a room which mostly resembles a closet with no view is not worth it. However, the staff is very friendly and always on hand, and the location (aside from the beachfront)...More
Wow! What a very very disappointing return visit we just had to Numero Uno.
We have stayed there many times over the last ten years. And with family in San Juan we understand how hard the hurricane hit the island. BUT.... come on... the easiest...More
Wow, where to begin. The hotel was clean, well run and secure. Right on the beach and they provide beach chairs so you can take full advantage of the beach and scenery. Ask for room 2 or 3 and you'll get your own little courtyard...More

Room 9 does not face the sea (it faces an interior courtyard) and is on the 2nd floor. The ocean front rooms are more expensive. In actuality, my wife and I almost always request Room 9 because it is quiet and doesn't get too much sun when we want to sleep in. It is more than adequate for 2 people and has enough room in the closet, etc. I hope that answers your question.

It's a couple of miles from Numero Uno to Old San Juan with a highway bridge in between. Taxis would be your most likely bet. They come right to the hotel which is at a dead end street at the beach. The hotel is actually a "Guest House" and has just a few rooms compared to a large hotel but the property is right on the beach. The staff is wonderful and will also bring food and drink to you while you are sitting on the beach under umbrellas. You might call the hotel to get further details and they might be able to work out transportation for you.
