This was a quaint boutique that was affordable, yet the rooms were clean and comfortable. I don't think you can call out on the phones in the room, but you can receive calls. The staff is helpful and there is a light continental breakfast. A cab ride was necessary to get too Old San Juan and the markets, so this...

Its a clean, but spartan place. The receptionists were very nice to me & helpful. As also mentioned, its in the college vacation area by the Marriott, hence I felt very safe but "the charm of Puerto Rico" is kind of gone. There's no parking but there's a nightly place for $10 to leave a car. Again, the room was...

Given the price in comparison to other properties in the area, El Canario turned out to be a decent deal. It is one of the cheaper places to stay in Condado and the property is fairly charming. It is located near the beach and on a main road near shops and restaurants. The room is pretty standard and is definitely...

Once inside you feel like you have entered another world. Old Europe. Cozy, friendly, intimate. Definitely will stay again. Negatives... TV reception. 2 religious channels. That was it. I didn't bother to complain. It was good to go without TV for a week. Ceiling fan was full of dust!

My friend and I were looking for an affordable, safe way to stay in San Juan for a week, so we stayed at El Canario based on a recommendation from her family friend. So glad we did! The room was exactly what we were looking for (clean, cute, and inexpensive), and the patio area turned out to be a great...

As others have mentioned..... the "breakfast" is not worth it. It is truly very very bad. The room was small but clean. The bed was not a king as advertised. I'm not even sure what size it was. It was odd, wide like a king but so short my feet hung off the end and I am only 5'7. There...

My friend and I got a deal through hotels.com for the wonderful "Canario Boutique Hotel". She arrived earlier in the day than I did and tried to check in. She was told that she could go to the Hotel Iberia because there was no room ready for her at 11am. She refused because of the scam she read about on...

If you're looking for a place to sleep at night and feel safe with no worries, this is it. My friend and I booked one of the sister bed and breakfasts but because of our early flight, they could not accommodate us and told us to come 4 minutes away to El Canario. We were greeted by friendly staff who...

We booked one month in advance. We printed the confirmation. However, when we arrived at El Canario Inn, they told us that they had no room available for us due to a "maintenance issue". They told us that hotel Iberia kindly accepted to host us for the same price (everything was sold out due to a street festival). BEWARE: This...

I got a deluxe room with 40% discount and I still think I payed to much for this place. The location is really good, but that's about it on the positive things. The room has no space to put your bags or even a table for any little things. There is a reason they don't show the bathrooms in the...
