We had a very bad experience at Navona. We would recommend all travelers to stay away from this place. We checked in on our first day in old San Juan. We were first given a room where the bed frame was broken. We told the female manager (who also runs the neighbouring jewellery store) and were immediately moved to a different room that was very dirty. We noticed the state of the room, but didn’t mind much as we were told we would soon return to the original room. After using the toilet we realised that it was broken (unable to flush), so we went down and told the manager. She became very hostile and impolite. She accused us of breaking both bed and toilet, and went on to threaten us with calling the police. We had been there for approx. 20 min. and simply decided to check out. We asked if a refund of some of the planned nights was possible, but she just shook her head and would hardly look at us. A very unpleasant experience! Save yourselves from the trouble and uncomfortable experience.

We had a very bad experience with this guests. Two male guests that appeared to be under alcohol use. They broke a bed an hour after receiving the room. Then we changed them to a balcony room and also broke the boxspring of the bed. Changed them to another room and broke the toilet. All happened within hours of arriving. When we figured out that that the guest was breaking our property immediately called their booking company and they immediately left the property, saying they did not want any problems.

Navona Studios is an excellent hotel. The accommodations are beautiful and the location could not be better. The hotel has a rooftop lounge and balconies that overlook the busy streets. It almost feels like New Orleans. The place was extremely clean and checkin was a breeze. We arranged a late check in and had no problems at all. The room was large and well decorated. The only downside we found was no blow dryer in the room. I would highly recommend for the location and amazing value. Whether it is a short weekend or a weeks stay this place could not be better. When I return to San Juan I plan to book another night Highly recommend!!

Navona Studios is a great buy for a tight budget, check in was quick and easy. The host was helpful and ready to assist us while we stood in Old SanJuan. The room was very simple with no amenities but had great terrace views towards the old city. The roof top was also a plus to see an expnasive view of Old SanJuan. I would stay here again.

I reserved a room with a balcony for Easter weekend 2018 (and was dreaming about it for weeks) but the morning I was to travel I got a message that the room I had reserved and paid a deposit for was not available due to a 'plumbing problem'. Hmm. I insisted on getting a room with windows, which you must request or you will be in a windowless room. The room I got did have windows, the bedding, towels and bathroom were clean, but the floors and small kitchenette area had not been cleaned since the last resident. Well, I rolled with the punches since I was in Puerto Rico, which is stunning and friendly and affordable. On Sunday I got a text saying the original room was now available. I was out sight-seeing when I received it and didn't return for a few hours. When I returned, the management was unhappy that I didn't rush back to drag my suitcase down three flights of stairs and then across sidewalks for a few blocks to the other room. Since I was leaving the next morning it didn't make sense to change. I asked for and received a discount from the original amount I was to pay, but a $40. discount hardly seemed fitting. Whatever. Lesson learned.

Clean and simple room with everything that would be needed for a short stay. The building was newly renovated recently and actually exceeded my expectations. As for location, I don't think it is possible to find many great price/location combos equal to this elsewhere in Old San Juan. 15 min walk to El Morro, 5 min walk to Castillo Cristobal, 15min walk to Playa Pena, and 25-30 min walk to Playa Escabron. (and yes, as others have indicated, it took about 2 minutes for the hot water to run, but there indeed was hot water)
