Nice modern hotel. We stayed three nights and ate in the restaurant once. Food was good, not great. Service was patchy: reception and check-in/check-out excellent. Service in restaurant and bar was slow and unfortunately none of the bar or restaurant staff speak English. We went there for drinks after dinner out, around 9:45. They keep the terrace area for diners only until 10pm so we asked the manager if we could sit there and as it was almost empty he said sure. There were two people on the terrace so we took a table at the other end of the terrace. The waitress came and asked us to leave as the terrace is reserved for diners until 10pm. I said to her that her manager had said it was ok and there were at least 10 empty tables and we would move if they needed ours. She got quite aggressive so we just ignored her until she walked away in a huff. Stayed until 10:30 and nobody came to eat while we were there. A bit annoying. Otherwise a great stay…
great location, close to shops and restaurants and ferry. Friendly staff very polite. The air conditioning was not working very well so did not cool the room Nice view from the bar and restaurant, food was ok.
Good for night before cruise. Nice room, clean, tasty breakfast. Good shower. Clean, modern decor. Ideal for a one night stay. Just what is needed. Good scrambled egg, bacon and sausages. I would stay again.
Planned to stay 2 nights here but left a day early. Rooms are spacious and ok. Staff is friendly albeit not very well trained. However, facilities, services and upkeep are very poor. The wifi was out of order for 24 hours. There is no way of getting anything to eat in the hotel between 2:30pm and 7:30pm as restaurant is closed and bar does not serve food. The safe deposit box in my room was out of order and the AC was not powerful enough to keep the room cool. Nobody to help you with your luggage which you need to schlep between 2 different elevators. The waiter in the restaurant managed to serve my food to the wrong table and when that customer alerted him 5 minutes later it was not what he ordered he just brought the plate to my table with the comment “the other customer had not touched it”!!!! I assume most customers are people who are about to embark or just disembarked a cruise ship as it is located right next to the cruise terminal. If I were you I would resist the temptation and book a hotel in one of the resort towns nearby.…
Located in the center of this picturesque town, the hotel faces the ocean and the big boats that dock here before sailing to other islands. Quite modern with a touch of naive art . Very nice terrace where youcan have breakfast or a drink in front of the harbour. Buffet style a bit unusual .
hotel well located in Fort-de-France center , urban style, modern, amenities, room designed spacious with side on city or sea, breakfast well I don't take lunch and dinner. good report quality / prices
Hotel very central in the capital city. It was my first time but it will not be my last for a business trip hotel. My feedbacks are as follows: - staff: 8/10 - bedroom cleaning: 7/10 - hotel cleaning: 8/10 - breakfast: 7/10 - car park : free with staying - wifi: 5/10 depending where in the hotel - gym facilities: 8/10 - safety: 10/10 - localisation : 9/10 downtown and very central - accessibility: 10/10. Very good for people with disabilities. A bottle of 1L of water is provided free of charge every day. Nespresso coffee capsules arrive also given for free. Kettle can also be provided upon request. Bear in mind the noise level because during weekends afterworks with music are organised in the hotel. Select a bedroom on the 6th or 7th floor for quietness. Enclosed pictures of minor issues in bedroom (mold and hazard nail left on the wall).…
This hotel has a very upmarket feel but with a budget price. The staff were happy and very helpful and the rooms comfortable and well equipped. The breakfast was a good selection and value for money, and room service was also good. There is a good selection of drinks and cocktails at the bar also. The hotel is conveniently located for seeing Fort-De-France but with easy access for highways to get around the island. 20 minutes from the airport and a walk from the passenger ferries that service Dominica, St Lucia, and Guadeloupe. They have parking spaces in the underground car park also, but no charging points for electric cars. The beds were comfortable and the room clean. The only criticism would be that here and there perhaps some carpet needed replacing, but very minor moans.Recommended.…
I stayed here with my husband for four nights at the end of March/beginning of April. Overall, I had a very comfortable, enjoyable stay here, but I'm not sure if I would stay here again. To begin on a positive note, this hotel is right on the bay and is centrally located in Fort de France (and on the island as a whole). The check-in process was seamless, we found our room to be quite spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The room had an espresso maker (my personal favorite), blow dryer, mini fridge and a small porch. There was a gym on the 7th floor and there was an ironing room on the 6th floor. We had drinks one night at the bar on the 2nd floor, which were delicious and inexpensive (happy hour prices: 50% off drinks). From our hotel, it was a very short walk to many restaurants, shopping and the dock. It was also about 40 feet from where the cruise ship docks (which made my 8am run more like a game of frogger than the peaceful jog that I was imagining). There were a few downsides to staying here though. Firstly, the gym was composed of 2 treadmills, one bike and elliptical in a room the size of the hotel bathroom. There was very poor circulation and the AC in the gym did not appear to be working at all. Also, there was parking at the hotel, but it was 10 euro a night. Obviously, this is not horribly expensive, but it would have been nice to be made aware of this prior to our stay. My other small qualm is in regards to the location of the hotel. If you are in Fort de France for business, the location is probably ideal. However, if you're here for leisure, it is quite a drive to go to any of the nice beaches or to go snorkeling/hiking. There is also no pool, which in my opinion, would have been such a nice addition, as after a long day of trekking around, a drink by the pool would have been perfect. For me, I think that if I go to Martinique again, I would stay in Trois Ilet or one of the southern beaches to enjoy the island life. The traffic getting to the hotel was tiring day after day, and the masses of cruise passengers right outside of the hotel made it seem like a less than a relaxing vacation. …
I have been looking forward to staying at the Simon Hotel. During my first night in the hotel, someone opened the door to my room (after I locked the deadbolt) late at night. I happened to be awake, was absolutely scared, and screamed and screamed until the person closed the door and went away. I relocked the deadbolt and put a chair and suitcase in front of the door. I then phoned the front desk to report what had just happened. The receptionist said she had given the master key to a fellow who said he was doing room service, a very unsatisfactory explanation and response. I express my concern that no one knocked on my door, the person just opened my door, and I was very worried about my security. She said that she would report the incident to the manager. The next morning I reported the incident to a different receptionist and she said that she would report the incident to the manager. I have yet to hear from the manager regarding security - that a master key is not just floating around and given to whoever wants one. I am really disappointed with the nonchalant attitude towards security of guests at this hotel.…
