Very warmly decorated hotel, small, unpretentious, great taste, very good service by all. Few people stayed at night for dinner. We stayed two nights, one had dinner, it was good food. We had spent a week in Emeraude, on the beach but wanted to try Tropical for the last two nights of the trip. You do not have ocean view...

The Tropical Hotel is a great place from which to see the island of St. Barth. Quiet and just a little out of the way, it makes a great base of operations to see the island. A rental car or other transportation is recommended.

This hotel is beautiful and the pool, bar, grounds/gardens are lush and it's located perfectly in St. Jean. The staff was amazing. We do travel a lot, and we have had all kinds of experiences with staff. Everyone here was welcoming and professional, kind, helpful. They would offer to help, even before we asked. Our daily breakfast was delicious, and...

The hotel is a perfect location for enjoying St Jean. The views are fabulous. The hotel has just been updated by a French Company. It looks fantastic with modern art and quirky furniture. It looks the part. However, The chairs and bar stools are uncormatable. The bedroom look great but the doors don't fit correctly so huge gaps at the...

Set on a hill overlooking St Jean. This is a well located , quiet, zen like hotel which offers an atmosphere quite different from many of the other hotels on the island. In that it is far more peaceful. New owners have recently taken over and have plans to substantially renovate the rooms. Which currently are clean and basic. The...

We didn't stay at the Tropical when we were in St. Bart's but were at Le Village just a few minutes walk away. After flying in from St. Martin, we were in search of cocktails. From our balcony, we heard music, which led us to Tropical. Great bar & drinks & service. Dancing around the pool. Great energy.

If you want to visit St Barth and not break the bank this is your spot. The rooms are nice, clean and comfortable with a nice balcony. The staff is friendly and attentive, the woman who worked breakfast service every morning remembered my order after the first day and was very pleasant. I looked forward to my interaction with her...

Stayed here for a night , definitely not worth the price! The patio is dirty , from the chairs to the pillows. Customer service is not too great either, would not recommend and will not come back again.

I stayed here last year as my son come to the Caribbean to play in a football tournament. This was the cheapest hotel on the island so I wasn't expecting much. But the rooms were lovely and had a very tropical feel, with all the rooms opening into the garden in the middle. The staff were really good, even one...

Darling small hotel in central location to shops and St. Jean Beach. We stayed here 1 night before our villa was ready. The staff was very nice, Room was immaculate clean with mosquito net over the bed and the room had a small patio overlooking the tropical garden. The morning coffee and breads were a lovely touch. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
OPENING DECEMBER 3rd 2016 A bohemian-style boutique hotel, the Tropical Hotel has been renovated for the 2016/2017 season. A charming hotel, located just steps from the beach in Saint Jean, the Tropical was recently purchased by a specialized hotel group from France. In Phase I, the new owners decided to update the design in a more contemporary style. As a result, The Tropical Hotel has been transformed into a bohemian chic hotel, in the style one finds in Mykonos, Ibiza, and Saint Barth, a mix between large luxury hotels and small family-run properties. The 22 rooms were recently redesigned from head-to-toe, with new "Rock the Kasbah" furnishings by Philippe XERRI. The decor has simple, clean lines, very natural, and showcasing such materials as wood, cotton, and linen. The design is both simple and sophisticated-a successful reflection of the image of Saint Barth. When it comes to service, the priority is on excellent and personalized service to meet all of the clients' needs. New this year is the addition of a luxury snack service open all day. The food service is by one of the hotel group's subsidiaries, MAMAN NYC, whose menus are created by Michelin-starred chef, Armand Arnal, with salads, tapas, homemade tarts, and cocktails served in a boho-chic ambiance, already popular in New York and Toronto. A wonderful addition to the hotel scene, the new Tropical Hotel is a great place to spend an unforgettable island vacation, while discovering the charms this newly renovated hotel. ... more   less
