We stayed here a couple of weeks ago for five days. We really loved the room. We were in 6B which had, possibly, the best view in the house from the balcony and was very private. To be fair tho...we had to walk past 6A to get to our room and could see into their room. We loved the fact...

I'm not sure how I booked a reservation here without knowing that the room didn't have windows. It looked like it had great big windows, but those were just openings and there were just two solid walls with two half walls and no windows. At first I thought, "Oh God, what have I done now." Surprisingly we never saw one...

Anse Chastanet is the PERFECT holiday for those wanting a unique traditional Carib boutique resort experience. When offered an upgrade to beach with AC I shed tears of joy! Beautifully furnished suite with all I needed for my perfect solitude escape. It wasnt long for me to decide to stay "a few more days". There is a shuttle bus on...

Overall we had a good stay but I think there are some truths that need to be put out there before people spend their money. At times I was shouting that I hated the place but having slept on it here is a more balanced view. We'd looked at St Lucia and AC in particular for our honeymoon last year...

Our return visit to an upgraded room still left us disappointed. Yes- the best view in the Caribbean- fabulous food-lovely staff - gorgeous beaches with plenty of space and shade. However the hotel is stuck in the last century. The shower barely produced enough water to make it serviceable and was stuck on 3 days running; our daughter's was blocked....

This lands on our list of the best resorts we have ever stayed at - and that is a very short list. We wish we would have stayed longer. We stayed for 4 nights and were upgraded to a hillside deluxe room. We were in 8A which is the very top building - 175 vertical feet from the beach -...

This is our second visit, the first 12 months ago. This time a 6 night visit. To summarise an idyllic location with spectacular views, unique rooms and excellent food spoilt by the lack of air conditioning. I guess AC is the only hotel on the island with the unique Piton views. Let me elaborate. We had superior and deluxe rooms...

Its been seven years since our last visit here and I was extremely happy to return to this place. The place I call my favorite place in this entire world. It was everything I remembered it to be and much more. Felt like I was home. The property in its natural beauty is what makes this place a gem, along...

Anse Chastenet has much to recommend it -- a beautiful location near the scenic Pitons, good snorkeling reefs just off their beach, and a smiling, courteous staff. The food is a cut above the typical "inclusive" fare, with their Indian cuisine and local fare especially delicious. Towel service on the beach, complete with lemon grass scented cool cloths and eucalyptus...

Most people told us we couldn't walk here from soufriere. Not sure if that's because they wanted us to use the expensive cabs in town or if they truly thought it was too hard. The initial hill out of soufriere is a steep one, but it's not too long. After that it's an easy 30 minute walk along the road...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tranquility, Romance, Adventure: What were Caribbean hotels like when you sat watching the sunset instead of cable TV? You can still find that Classic Caribbean at Anse Chastanet on St. Lucia’s quiet southwestern coast where two magical peaks, the Pitons, leap from the sea and the mountains are covered with luminous greenery.Architect owner Nick Troubetzkoy believes passionately in nature. So he created a hotel that makes the foliage and the flowers, the perfumes and the peaks, the sea and the bird song an integral part of your vacation experience. The estate encompasses 600 lush tropical acres bordering two soft sand beaches. The resort’s two crystal-clear bays are part of a designated marine reserve protecting miles of colorful coral reefs teeming with tropical fish. With such a unique setting as his canvas, Nick Troubetzkoy was inspired to design a one -of-a-kind resort. A dozen rooms are tucked in behind the coconut palms that line the beach and the remainder tip toe up a flower decked hillside, taking advantage of the captivating scenery all around. Anse Chastanet’s ever growing art collection provides a visual feast of its own. There are impressive wooden sculptures and plaques, earthy burlap compositions, painted “sky ceilings” and vibrant acrylic paintings invoking memories of Matisse and Picasso. And while the sensuous seclusion of the rooms provides some guests with the perfect excuse for lolling away the day on the balcony, others head out to partake in the many activities on offer; yoga, snorkeling, scuba diving, tennis, sunset sailing, sea kayaking or jungle biking, hiking and bird-watching among the ruins of an 18th century colonial plantation. ... more   less
