Rising majestically above its 49 room sister resort Anse Chastanet, a 600 acre beach front property, Jade Mountain is a cornucopia of organic architecture celebrating St Lucia’s stunning scenic beauty. The 29 luxury suites are called sanctuaries, sweeping spaces where bedroom, living area and an extravagant private infinity pool glide into one another to form extraordinary platforms floating out into nature. With the fourth wall entirely absent, Jade Mountain’s sanctuaries are stage-like settings from which to embrace the full glory of St Lucia’s Pitons World Heritage Site and the Caribbean Sea. Jade Mountain has set a new standard in the Caribbean whether it is for modern design, luxury living or unique resort and guest service experiences.Wrapped around an infinity pool with a dazzling kaleidoscope of colors, the Jade Mountain Club restaurant caters exclusively to resident guests, celebrating James Beard Award winner Chef Allen Susser’s “Jade Cuisine.” Hovering in space above the Jade Mountain Club is the Celestial Terrace, perfect for sunset cocktails or star-gazing.A wide range of spa services can be enjoyed in the privacy of the Jade Mountain sanctuaries or at Kai en Ciel, Jade Mountain’s boutique spa and fitness studio. The resort major domos and a dedicated resort team ensure outstanding service around the clock.Guests may enjoy the exclusivity and privacy of Jade Mountain plus access to all of Anse Chastanet’s facilities and services: Nestled amidst a lush tropical 600 acre tropical estate with two soft sand beaches bordering pristine coral reefs, Anse Chastanet is right in the heart of the island’s marine reserves with St. Lucia’s legendary twin peaks, the Pitons, as the dramatic backdrop. The active will enjoy the resort’s amazing range of adventure facilities. Facilities include 4 restaurants & 3 bars, professional spa, PADi 5* scuba centre, water sports with kayaking centre, 12 miles of private biking and hiking trails with mountain bike rental, sailing yacht, 3 boutiques, library and art gallery.

This hotel is where any thought of things being impossible, simply become achievable. Views, food, drink and 24 hour service with superstars like Jameel. Any whim is fulfilled at the blink of an eye. If you can book it, the room JA3 is rather ridiculously awesome! Jade Mountain is easily a 100 out of 5 stars!

Hotel's Favourite
We’ve been home exactly 1-week after a 6-night stay at Jade Mountain. It was spectacular. This was our first time in St. Lucia, but we travel to the Caribbean at least twice a year. We booked one of their promotional packages almost a year in advance for our 10th anniversary (5-nights for the cost of 4-nights). Friends tried to join us last minute, but the hotel was sold out during our stay. We opted against the Romance Package because we felt we wouldn’t do many of the included excursions. However, we did opt for the All-Inclusive option. Here’s our experience and recommendations (this is long): Room: My husband wanted a Moon category, however after doing some research and looking at the various options I chose the Star Room and requested JE2 or JD2 prior to arrival. We got JE2. We loved the location on the top level (tip: the shuttle stops at both the A and E levels). Great view of the ocean and Pitons, but no sunset view in this room (I believe only the Sun rooms with a -1 ending will have a sunset view). It is a very large Star room with a big pool and sunny patio area. This room has great light throughout the day and a constant breeze. The other Star rooms are mostly on the A-level, but there is one on every level. We loved JE2 and we would request it again (but next time we may opt for a Sun room). The butlers or majordomos are fantastic. They quickly answered our calls and even retrieved my phone for me when we went to the beach and I forget it in our room. Mosquitos weren't a huge issue, considering the room is open. But they are there! The hotel provides a natural spray repellant. However, that didn't work for us. I brought my own Off repellant with DEET. That worked. Arrival: We chose the helicopter transport on arrival to avoid the road and start our vacation quickly! Luckily, we had a minimal wait at the airport. One couple had arrived right before us and the other couple was on our flight (6 passengers in total). It was our first helicopter ride and it will be our last! It’s a quick ride, but it soon started to rain. The helicopter was extremely bumpy and kept dramatically dipping and dropping in elevation. Luckily, I could not see the pilot, but my husband was sitting right behind him and watched him do paper work with the joy stick propped between his legs the entire flight. We chose the luxury car service for departure. I took a Dramamine before we left (just in case). I feel the Owners could easily pave that stretch of road, but nevertheless, it was an enjoyable drive. It’s not as bad as other reviews indicate. Food: Food at the Jade Club was fantastic. Not Michelin star, but close. We enjoyed every meal. It was a lot of food and we honestly could not eat as much as we wanted to! The all-inclusive package is still worth it, especially if you drink alcohol (if you don’t drink, then you’re better off with the MAP. We were full off 2 meals and struggled with the 5-course dinner. My husband started skipping lunch so he could indulge more at dinner). We enjoyed breakfast in our room twice, but we preferred to eat in the restaurant. We had dinner reservations at 6:30pm almost every night and by the time we arrived at 6:30 there were always 3-5 other couples already there (arrive early for an optimal view or table). By 7 or 7:15pm it was dark. And a special nod to Kimran, a server at Jade Club. He provided excellent service and offered recommendations for food and wines by the glass (the wines offered by the glass were very good). Food on the beach is also good, but more limited options. We made it to the Beach Restaurant on our last day and loved the fish & shrimp skewer (the fish was cooked perfectly) and the curry fish roti. We also booked the Lionfish Dinner on Friday night (at Anse Mamin Beach). This was a great meal, plus we helped safe the reef and they gave us a cook book at the end. We preferred the service at the Anse Chastanet beach (usually quick), but we preferred the ambience at Anse Mamin. The first 2 days at Anse Mamin, there were no other guests before noon. However, there were times when they had several guests (locals and hotel guests) and they were extremely busy. Excursions: We did the Jazzy Sunset Cruise. Fun. Lots of cocktails flowing. 20 couples on a double decker boat (there was plenty of room to spread out). The Plantation Tour with Meno is a must do (it’s free)! Don’t miss snorkeling. We ventured out once for a half day day to visit to the volcano mud baths, mineral baths at Jerusalem Falls, the Botanical Gardens, lunch in Souffriere, and snorkeling at Sugar Beach. We opted to book this one on our own with a local named “Simon Says”. He picked us up by boat and took us to Souffriere, then we drove from there. There was one other couple from Anse Chastanet who joined us. He actually approached us on the beach our first day and I did some research before we booked. It was a great tour. The other couple had gone with him on a hike up the Pitons the day before. I chose not to book through the hotel because my initial goal was to see the Superman Waterfall or Sapphire falls. The hotel would not book those, but Simon Says also persuaded me away from them (I believe because they are privately owned. So if you want to see those, contact the Owners directly). Yoga: don’t sleep through the daily yoga. The two instructors are fantastic. I’ve practiced yoga for 20 years (including in NYC for 10 years) and these teachers are great! Their styles are very different, so be sure to try both instructors. Also, I had a fantastic 1.5 hour massage and facial in the Spa by Theo. It was the "Forget the World" treatment. I opted not to do this treatment in my room so that my husband could enjoy the room without me (he refused to get a massage). The Spa is small, but it was quiet throughout my entire treatment. Conclusion: it is pricey, but certainly memorable and worth it for a special occasion. We will be back, not annually, but likely for our 15th (or 14th anniversary).

Barely anyone has posted a review of a stay in a Sky Suite at Jade Mountain, lets start at the beginning of our 5 night stay: - That cost..: Obviously this is the most expensive hotel I/you/we might ever stay in, so I had high hopes. Luckily our expectatons were met throughout - easily the smoothest hotel experience, with the most courteous and well trained staff throughout that I've ever had. We were on the All Inclusive plan which feels like acceptable value given all we ate and drank. - Welcome: As reported the road into Jade is hilariously poorly maintained, 4x4 recommended if you're driving and I'd even consider asking for a 4x4 taxi specifically if you're arriving that way to try and easy some of the crazy bumpiness/let you drive over it a bit faster. On arrival our Majordomo was informed of our approach by the gate staff and was waiting to take our bags with a cold towel by the time we'd driven up the mountain from the entrance barrier, all very seamless. The Jade team also accommodated an early checkin for us which was greatly appreciated. - Upgrades: It was our honeymoon, and I'd kind of hoped for a free upgrade, but apparently the hotel runs at 92% capacity over the course of the year so if you're in a similar situation I wouldn't count on it. Obviously I don't hold that against the hotel because a free upgrade's very much a privilege and not an expectation. - Suite itself: Was great, the 'hot tub' is just a very large bath so can also be a plunge pool if you wish. Sky Suites are on the lowest level, we were in JF3. You could see the Piton view from the sofas in the suite looking out at a 30 degree angle (but alas, not from bed). - Noise: On the Sky Suite level you could hear everyone's doorbell ringing from bed, the open slat design of the wall where you enter you room meant that corridor sound carried quite a lot. Strangely (or cleverly!) we didn't hear any noise from any of the guests in those rooms during our stay - just stuff from the corridor. - There were a few very minor maintenance issues throughout that were resolved extremely quickly by the Majordomo and team. A clicking fan, a smoke alarm with a low battery that woke us up at 4am, the rail in the wardrobe continually fell off, and trying to figure out how to turn off the staircase lighting in the evenings (you can't, but they offered to take all the bulbs out if I wanted!). - The no fourth wall concept is super cool but for me an eye mask and ear plugs were essential to get a passable nights sleep. Basic versions of these are provided by Jade. The Carib Grackle (bird) is a particular culprit for early morning wake ups with its jarring calls. - The toilet configuration didn't bother us in this room type. It's open, you can hear everything and if you look up from the lounge you can see everything but it's not visible from everywhere. - Ceiling fans - there were 5 ceiling fans in the room, which were sufficient to keep us cool enough at night. I'm sure the domos would have bought in extra ones if we'd needed it. - Daily snack box: Is a really nice touch, of course it's hard to have any room for food when every meal is already 3 courses - but we definitely tried :-D - Steps: We're two mid-thirties people and weren't hurrying around - we found the steps in the resort numerous but totally fine. - Beach: Easily the best serviced beach we experienced in St Lucia. As reported it is around 300 steps down from Sky Suite level (so slightly more steps if you're in higher room categories) but it really wasn't arduous - 200 or so of those steps are shallow little things with the option of a slope next to them to mix it up. If at any time you don't fancy the walk you're given a phone to call your Majordomo and a shuttle comes within 10 minutes to carry you up. - The Anse Mamin beach roughly a 5-10 minute walk on a stony track from the main beach was mostly as well serviced as the main beach with a more limited (but different) lunch offering from the jungle grill. You can also get a shuttle to Anse Mamin. - Dining: We were blown away by the quality of food and service at Jade Mountain Club (JMC) throughout - really great, as described in another review "Not Michelin Star, but close". We also sampled in Anse Chastanet: - The Treehouse restaurant: Good, but not as good as JMC - slightly slow service/understaffed. - Trou au Diable beach restaurant: For the special caribbean night with fire dancers. A buffet setup of tasty food and a passable fire dancer show - good to mix things up. - Activities: We'd done a lot of the classic St Lucia excursions at other points on our stay but here we did: - Sunset cruise: 2 hours with up to 6 other guests on the resort's sailing boat with a knowledgeable and well spoken boat captain cruising the coast line and sailing through sunset with plenty of photo ops - would recommend. - Spa: We had a really enjoyable couples deep tissue massage in the spa. Significantly better therapists here than at other resorts we stayed at in St Lucia. - Services: Shuttle booking was great and easy throughout via the domos. A big shout out to the in house laundry team who managed to mostly rescue a white shirt that I'd taken to the sulphur baths and was ready to write off. - Check out: I was really impressed with the ease and flexibility of checkout. The Jade team looked up our flight and booked an appropriate taxi for us, checkout from the room isn't until 12pm. We weren't leaving until 5pm for our flight and they made a room available at their Anse Chastanet resort for us to shower and get ready for the flight in, for no extra fee. - World's smallest gripes: The overall experience was so flawless that these very minor issues stood out and could be an easy tweak for the Jade Mountain team to correct: - On the all inclusive only being able to get wine by the glass - for such a luxury experience this feels unnecessarily penny-pinching especially when food is so free-flowing. Having to constantly be aware of when to order your next glass if you'd like to keep a drink in your hand mars the overall awesomeness. I'd say just let people order bottles. - Specifically in room JF3 - the angle of the shutters on and around the room's door meant that with minimal effort someone could see into our room straight to the bed at any time. Obviously we have a reasonable expectation that peeping toms aren't roaming the resort but it left me feeling a lack of privacy. - Sun cream selection in the Jade Boutique: We ran out of sun cream on our stay and the options to purchase in the Boutique were very poor - a wider range perhaps with some well known brands would have been great. - Signing for things: I felt like I was constantly having to sign for something, even though staff greet us by name and know which room we're in most of the time. This might just be part of an american-like culture but it felt excessive. On arrival, while it was still a very smooth process, there was also several sheets to sign for things that shouldn't really require a signature. On departure we had to wait after signing a bill for it to be 'zero'd out' and then for our Majordomo to bring a zero'd bill back to us for yet another signature - it just felt archaic. - Regrets: - I wish I'd managed to roll out of bed for the daily yoga on the celestial terrace because that looked great.

Magical, Exceptional, and Rejuvenating. Thank you for making my Husband's birthday magical. Incredibly attentive to our needs with many surprises. Rose petal bath was a nice touch. The staff was welcoming from beginning to end from the ride to the sanctuary, escorting to various places on the resort and recommending dining on the property. A Blessing to have had the privilege of this experience. Thank you.

How do we even put into words how beautiful Jade Mountain is....it is the most beautiful location we have ever been and we travel a lot to tropical destinations. (Hawaii, Caribbean, Singapore). The view from our room did not even seem real at times. It was almost like a fake backdrop. It is also important to note that the service is top notch at 4 seasons level as every staff member no matter their role goes above and beyond to anticipate your needs. They remember your names, the drinks you like, the extra towels for your hair.....everything. They even apparently went out and purchased a cooler to put ice into as my husband likes his beer ice cold....it was brand new with a price tag still on it when they brought it into the room. They even brought full size bottles of of our favorite alcohol to our room (champagne, whiskey, rum, beer) Our room was "moon" level and had a breathtaking view of the ocean and the pitons 180 degrees from all angles of the room. The room being open has both advantages and challenges. The major plus is the view and the ultimate privacy....feel free to swim or walk around naked as there is no way anyone is going to see you the way the hotel is designed.....this makes it the ultimate romantic retreat. The shower is also open and this is great but can be a bit cool in the evenings prior to dinner with the ocean breeze coming straight into the room. There is no air conditioning obviously so no sweatshirts or jackets or wraps are needed. (the lighter the clothing the better in this climate for sure). The pool is mildly heated and the perfect temperature both day and night. Waking up to the sounds of the tropical birds and the water falling from the infinity pool is an experience all in itself. We never noticed any noise from our neighbors. We had coffee in our pool each morning. Our pool was 5 ft deep and you could swim short laps if you are petite like me. There is also an area for sitting and enjoying the view. The one downside of the room is the open toilet area....open on the front and back of the toilet....I love my husband but..... This may not be ideal if you have not been married a long time like we have. The beaches are breathtaking and clean and manicured. The staff at the beach caters to your every need. They will also shuttle you up and down if you like as it is a strenuous climb from beach to room (about 400 stairs). There is no elevator on the property so this is not a handicap accessible location. Be cautious if you have hip or knee issues. Just for perspective, my husband and I ran a 10k race together the week prior to our trip....and we found the walk from the beach to our room or to the club restaurant strenuous...especially in the heat that we are not accustomed to. Also important to note that this is volcanic dark sand that gets very hot. On sunny days you can burn your feet on the sand so a pair of tennis shoes is a good idea as the very soft sand will spill onto your flip flops. With this dark powder fine sand, flip flops are only for very short tracks from beach chairs to the ocean only. I also recommend staying on the beach for a few sunsets....they are breathtaking and one night Charlie and I were the only ones on the beach. In fact we were often alone, you will not have issues with getting a beach chair at this resort. It is also very secluded and very private. We enjoyed the sunset sail, the spa, snorkeling and kayaking the coast. I was not good at jungle biking however....this was the scariest. Out of the 3 couples on our trip, 2 of the men were injured with minor skin abrasions and cuts. I ended up walking a bike through a jungle to avoid injury.....he,he. Admittedly I am a woman in my 40's so I may have found this easier 20 years ago but I would recommend skipping this activity unless regular mountain biking with boulders and trees and a steep incline is your thing. I did really enjoy our guide for the excursion so if you are also from Kansas....maybe you hike the trail instead of "trying" to bike it. As for the food.....it is amazing. Now do not kill me for saying this as again...I am from Kansas.....if anything....it is a bit too fancy at times. The menu at the club changes daily and each day is a new experience. It is also visually beautiful as everything is artfully placed onto each plate (likely with tweezers). We did get to try new foods and drinks and always found something we enjoyed even though it was certainly not food we are accustomed to. We did break down and ask if they could make us a pizza or something similar.....and yes....they can make burgers and pizza and breakfast burritos in case you also need an american palate cleansing of grease or salt to soak up the yummy fresh coconut pina coladas they serve. The Chef is truly masterful with his craft and we appreciated everything we were served as it is all local and fresh ingredients. If you are a foodie.....this is the location for you for sure. I already miss the morning fresh chocolate filled croissants and the fresh mango. The live music each night changes and each musician is very talented. We enjoyed the people who sang more current hits over the jazz ensembles but that is our personal preference. It is also important to note that there is no TV anywhere on property....I really enjoyed this. The internet and phone service work great however if you need to keep tabs on your work emails. Anything we asked for or could have wanted they made happen.... As for the tipping we did not realize for the first few days when adding gratuity to the food/drink bill that it does not go to our butlers....it goes to the food and beverage team. There is already a 10 percent tip and 10 percent Vat attached to all bills automatically so factor this in when figuring out your 20 percent. The butler team assigned to you pool their tips and thus everything you tip them is split between the team of 3. We have no idea what is standard or even good but tipped our housekeepers 200 dollars each and our butlers 500 USD each. I only put this as I could not find much about what others do on Trip Advisor. Hopefully this helps someone else. Also hope they still like us as we had no idea what was standard. This location and dedication to service is miles above our experience at Sandals La Toc millionaire suite from a few years ago so if choosing between the two in St. Lucia.....Jade Mountain blows Sandals out of the water and then some......and I am certainly not paid for this review. Do yourself a favor and just stay here. It is truly the best. You will feel like a celebrity. Thank you Jade Mountain.....we hope to come back again soon.

The most amazing hotel room I have ever experienced. We stayed in a Sun room for 1 night and a Galaxy room for 2 nights. Both were amazing and built to absorb the seriously impressive view. The galaxy room was huge, with the private infinity pool, a sun patio, wine fridge, mini bar etc. The resort is beautiful and definitely worth a stay, the food was great each day, at every meal. A stay here followed by a longer stay on a beach side resort on St Lucia would make a great honeymoon, it was certainly a joyous holiday.

I was lucky enough to stay here for 4 nights in a Galaxy sanctuary. I figured if you are going to stay at Jade Mountain, do it in style. Wow what an experience. Unfortunately it was a bitter sweet experience, I had such high expectations and having had the perfect stay at Sugar Beach, I was really expecting the next level of hotel stay/ service/ food. Especially given the price. We arrived a little early, our "room" was not ready which is never an issue, as long as you are treated well. Treated well we were. We went to the restaurant and sadly ate the most delicious meal of the hotel stay. I had Seared Tuna and coconut rice. It was complete perfection and of Michelin star quality. This really excited me, knowing how good the culinary experience will be while staying. I had expectations every meal would be this good. Sadly Jade Mountain could not keep up this high standard during our stay. Jade Mountain club is where we ate most of our meals during the stay, although the menu changed daily, it was always pretty similar. The problem is each meal was not consistently brilliant. During the stay we had the most amazing mahi mahi and the most overcooked dry mahi mahi. I had a really bad steak. Steak is not what I would have usually ordered but the menu didn't really offer me anything that night. My partner would order a starter for main as the main options were limited. All in, the food was hit and miss. Not what I would expect, we ate at the treehouse one night and the food here is not at the same level as Jade Mountain Club. Coming from Sugar Beach, I had high expectations of the beach at Jade and Anse Chastanet beach does not come anywhere close, although it perhaps has better snorkelling directly off the shore. Service was mixed, rather than be called butlers, they are Domus, Greg and Tony were really friendly, personable, warm and welcoming. The entire team are there to help you and will get anything you ask. The difference is that they don't seem to have the enthusiasm and passion for you to have the best stay like the team at Sugar beach had. It was a bitter sweet stay, had I not stayed at Sugar Beach, Jade would have been perfection but seeing how Sugar Beach was run. I wish it was at the same level. A lot of the staff do not engage and simply serve away. The shuttle drivers were mostly fun and friendly. The best bit! The Sanctuary and accommodation. This is the most incredible hotel (in the world?), perhaps the most incredible I will ever stay in. Each Sanctuary is unique and ours was JD1, it was jaw dropping. I cannot recommend enough how good the sanctuary experience is. The pool, the view, the birds! It is open to the world, you get birds in your room, I like birds but after 4 nights, I was getting tired of them. They love to wake you up at 6am. The birds are beautiful. Staying at Jade is one of the best experiences of my life, I am just gutted that it was bitter sweet. I cannot put my finger on it but it was not consistently amazing.

I should start by saying this is a really weird review to write. On the one hand, the score suggests I didn't enjoy it - I did. In fact I would, and probably will, stay here again. It seems a crazy thing to say because I have given plenty of 5 star reviews in the past for places I will likely never return to because of a desire to try new countries and resorts, but this place really would pull me back because the good is SOOOO good. It's just that there is some bad/ugly as well which would have been so easy to avoid/fix. 3 stars is also probably harsh. But 4 stars would have been too generous and 3.5 probably just about perfect - but if I have to pick between 3 and 4, on balance between those scores it's probably a three... Why? Well first of all the location is stunning. I have never been to Jade Mountain in St Lucia but I've seen it featured on a couple of tv shows and so on, and I think the vibes of this place are the same. The two pools are both fantastic in different ways and I love that they have a proper 'deep end' - all too rare! The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms are good (huge shower head and great water pressure) - the view from your balcony will be stunning.... The cocktails are well made and the service is warm and efficient. There is so much to love about this hotel, and if that was where the experience ended it would be 5 stars no question. However - there are a handful of minor issues and a couple of major ones that start to add up and detract from the overall experience. Perhaps the biggest might not affect others - but my wife is a vegan. Before booking, before visiting, and while we were here I asked them 'can you accommodate a vegan diner'. I was told they could every time. Not everywhere can, and that's fine, but be honest about it. It wouldn't have stopped us booking this place - we would have just made different dinner plans. When we stepped into the restaurant it was clear they didn't understand what the word 'vegan' means. They suggested a variety of vegetarian dishes without actually understanding that they were totally unsuitable. So disappointing and easily avoidable, either with more honesty, or by actually checking with your kitchen staff. Also - not sure why they don't put the big ceiling fans on in the restaurant at breakfast or dinner? It's warm and the humidity of the jungle means that just having the fans on would have been much more comfortable. I was told breakfast was included when we arrived - what they mean is that the plate of fruit and your coffee is included. Again, that is fine, but be clear about it. And don't put water in your orange juice when we are paying $600+ per night to be here! Also - why are you using white Bacardi as the base rum in a $20 cocktail? Seems cheap, which is such a shame given how good the bartenders are. There is a happy hour at the main pool which is great and a good opportunity to buy some cheaper cocktails - however the atmosphere is totally spoilt by the hotel playing loud techno music via a huge speaker for those two hours. The best thing about this hotel is the way it is surrounded by the sites and sounds of the rainforest with the monkeys and macaws that roam the area being the thing most guests are excited about and looking to spot while they enjoy their drinks. The music being as loud as it is, is totally unnecessary. We spoke to three other couples who agreed it was at best, invasive and weird and at worst obnoxious and spoilt the time. After a couple of days we just moved to the second pool and were happy to pay for two drinks instead of one just so we didn't feel like we were in the world's most surreal nightclub. The golf cart service is great if you need it, we used it to get to and from the beach and the drivers couldn't be friendlier, however its a shame it stops at the front gates. There is another hotel we noticed in the local area Issimo Suites just down the hill would send their golf carts up and down the hill ferrying their guests to the little strip of restaurants and supermarket. Maybe Makanda don't offer this because they have their own restaurant on site and so they would be working against their own interest by making the little restaurant strip a bit more accessible, but it seems like a shame because the hill is steep and we had to use it since we couldn't eat at the property. There was a sneaky trick they played with the water in the room which left a bad taste in the mouth as well. When we were shown round the room the person who brought us in said 'these waters are free, the coffee is included, the minibar is not included'... seems straightforward enough... except that what they mean is the first two water bottles you use are free - they will then replace them and charge you $9 plus tax if you touch the new ones. I told my wife my surprise at the fact that this wasn't clear and that i'd not been expecting to pay for multiple bottles (we have no problem with the tap water and drank it through pretty much our whole stay in Costa Rica), and she told me we didn't even have a second bottle each, we just refilled the first ones because they were good to transport around. So not only was the fact that we would be charged kept unclear, but we actually shouldn't have been at all! By this time we were already in our taxi to the airport and it was only two bottles I think so we just shrugged and got on with it. Overall: If you don't mind walking up the hill, and don't have a vegan with you, and like loud music in the early evenings then this hotel is probably the best you'll find in Costa Rica. Certainly in the area! It is genuinely breathtaking, and if you are able to plan your trip and expectations so that you only reach for the good, then it is amazing. You don't have to reach for all of it as part of your experience, but we didn't know that before coming and so we were left a bit disappointed in a few areas. None of these issues would stop us returning because the hotel itself and the staff are so incredible, but we would plan things a little differently and I'm sure the next review will be 5 stars. Thanks for having us guys. Heres to those kinks being ironed out next time.
