There is a grocery store called Fosters which is nearby and a lot of restaurants that are within walking distance. Renting a car may be a good idea if you want to explore around the island. If you do the turtle farm and visit the cracked conch, which is an offshore dive spot and has a restaurant, you will need a car. We will be there in July too!!

You will need a car to get to the grocery. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance (Dukes is one of them). There is a service that will deliver groceries to your condo for you! Just contact management of Plantana and they will help you out with this. The delivery service could have the refrigerator stocked and waiting for you at your arrival. Just another FYI, the nearest liquor store is also quite a hike, so it is better to go by car. Because of "blue laws", Cayman groceries and liquor stores are closed on Sundays, so if you arrive on a Saturday, you will want to stock up as soon as possible. If you decide to rent a car, rent locally. We have been going to coming yearly since 1995. The best rent a car on the island is Andy's Rent a Car. They have a location at the airport (you can see it as you leave the terminal--straight ahead of you) so pick up and return are easy. Don't get suckered into a "known" agency. We made that mistake once--they only use the name whether they are associated or not. We had a situation with bait and switch once where they wouldn't honor the price we had been given on Orbitz. Stick with Andy's...cheap and reliable!
