We stayed over easter and it was soooo quiet. The condos are large, but our bed was really bad. It creaked with the slightest move and was held up by makeshift slats. We had a view of ocean and wonderful pool. Rocky beach but the...More

That barge thingy is a real thorn in our side and I would love to get i gone but sadly even though we have lobbied the Port Authority it is the permanent mooring in place to help protect our gorgeous reefs from anchor damage so...More
We went to the Cayman's for the first time the first week in July. The Grandview Condos were in a perfect location and beautiful both inside and out. The property Manager Max was so helpful and gave us great tips on everything from how to...More
I just returned from a weeklong vacation at Grandview. We stayed at a beachfront unit-and yes, it has a "grand view"-the ocean along 7 mile beach is second to none (and I've been to many Caribbean islands); the unit was spacious and clean and in...More
I stayed in 912 (ocean front) for about 9 weeks on a work trip - and found Grandview to be completely perfect. Anyone would feel really lucky to stay here, I certainly did! The beach, pool and grounds are always clean, well maintained, as well...More

It depends on how fit you are, and how you handle the heat. There is a grocery store less than a 10 minute walk away (closed on Sundays), and we pretty easily walked into the center of George Town (about a 30 minute walk). There are also several restaurants within a 20 minute walk in both directions. You could get by without a car, if you don't mind walking in the heat, and you don't want to see the rest of the island. As for the beach, if you pick your way through the rocks, you can actually get into the ocean and swim a bit at one small piece of the condo beach (you can also easily splash your feet in the water on the sand, if that's all you want to do). The public beach is a 5-10 minute walk along the beach to the North (you have to look for the rock path around a bit of a wall, but it's there). If you get a car, there is plenty of parking, and driving on the island isn't bad at all, if you can handle being on the English side of the road.

You might want to rent a car for the day you take the remote excursions, but we did not. The taxi service is incredibly dependable and reasonable ... just call in advance, specify a pickuptime, and they'll be there! Our most expensive cab ride was $40 and that was a north island tour, ending at the bird sanctuary and Italian restaurant up there, which, by the way, was great! Very walkable location both into town and up the boulevard and hotel row on Seven Mile Beach.
