Drop Anchor Grill doesn’t have its own TripAdvisor page, but if food is important to you while on vacation, I would bet on the restaurant here having the best food on the island. We had a pretty nice all-around experience at Marshall’s but the food was probably 2-3 stars at best… meanwhile, not a meal here over 7 days, both lunch and dinner, where we weren’t very happy and impressed by the food. Good quality, interesting, flavorful and presented well. Not to mention the ambiance and views of the ocean from the restaurant are amazing. Aside from that, very happy with the resort, not a ton of things to do (you can easily venture out for that) but the ultimate relaxation and the staff took excellent care of us during our stay. Room was great and the bed very, very comfortable. We came here to unplug for a while and Sunset Reef turned out to be a perfect choice for that!

Hotel's Favourite
What a gorgeous place to visit. We were greeted with cocktails and then taken to our 5 star accommodations. The views of the ocean were stunning. The suite we stayed in was amazing and attention to detail was obvious. The electric bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in and the sheets felt like silk. The bathrooms had very high end finishes and were very large with high end organic toiletries. The hotel had all the amenities we were looking for. The food was delicious and the chef and his team went out of their way to prepare scrumptious meals. They even made me my own red velvet cake as I mentioned in passing I loved it and brought it to our suite. They gave us fresh mangos and avocados and left a fruit and treats plater in our room the day of our arrival. We enjoyed fireside cocktails that were also amazing and great presentation of all the drinks. Happy hour Friday night at the beach bar was so fun! We snorkelled everyday at the beach and even saw a stingray as well as a great variety of fish. The actual hotel itself is magical and the view from the infinity pool and all the grounds as well as our room leaves you speechless. We walked through the gardens everyday as they were so beautiful. Great staff that go out of their way to make it a 5 star experience! Everything was perfect!

My husband and I stayed 3 wonderful nights at the Sunset Reef in St Kitts. We really had no idea what to expect. It was absolutely beautiful. As you walk in and see the infinity pool going out into the view of the Caribbean…..it takes your breath away. Also each night you eat your meals in the restaurant that overlooks the same view. The low key music that is played, the attention to detail, the excellent food, the friendly employees etc etc. The view reminded me of the Mediterranean or Hawaii. The general managers, restaurant manager, chefs and all wait staff were just so helpful. Even our cleaning staff were so friendly. They arranged all our taxi drives etc. The room was so peaceful and beautiful. The bed (bamboo sheets) were so comfortable. I loved sitting outside our room each morning on the rocking chairs having espresso and seeing a monkey or two in the distance. I usually don’t write reviews, but this is truly one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. We will be back. Thank you for 3 wonderful days.

What a fabulous stay! From the incredible staff (thank you Alex, Mark and Rachel!) to the simply STUNNING views and wonderful food, it was a perfect trip. I was with a colleague on a work trip, but it was our last stay after over 2 weeks traveling in the region and we decided to have a little comfort on our last few days! The bahn mi and the smoked fish dip are both amazing! Not surprisingly, the sunsets from there are just amazing.

My wife and I have traveled all over the Caribbean for more than 20 years, and our eight-night stay at Sunset Reef has to have been among the most wonderful travel experiences we've ever had. This "boutique" hotel made us feel at home the moment we arrived. Since there are only a handful of rooms, the staff is endlessly attentive--special acknowledgment goes to Rachel. For example, one morning we reported a minor issue with our toilet, and it was fixed within 10 minutes. (Anyone who knows Caribbean hotels knows how unusual that is.) The wonderful Lavern created a full week's itinerary for us before we arrived, including dinner reservations at various restaurants and transportation by the phenomenal Lenny and Keisha wherever we needed to go (and they always arrived early). The food at Sunset Reef was consistently excellent--even better than the restaurants we visited elsewhere on St. Kitts (which were good to very good). In terms of things to do on the premises, there's a gorgeous infinity pool where the sunsets are phenomenal. The hot tub is awesome, as are the meticulously-kept gardens. Each room has its own outdoor fire pit. The beach, which at this point is still rocky, provides access to remarkable snorkeling along the coastline in either direction. (I hope the forthcoming completion of the beach respects the gorgeous reefs and sea life along the coast--they are a marvel.) My wife and I took out two kayaks one morning. The gym has two Pelotons, a treadmill, and an elliptical--all facing the ocean. We used them four times. I strongly recommend getting out and about the island; there's a lot to see on St. Kitts, and we really enjoyed our guided hike in the Valley of the Giants (bring hiking boots for an easier time), our day excursion to Nevis, the train tour of St. Kitts, and historic Brimstone Hill. Our room was very spacious, and the bed firm but quite comfortable. Since the hotel is new, everything feels clean and sleek. One important note: I would not recommend Sunset Reef for families with kids ages 2+, who probably need a bit more room to roam. But for couples or singles traveling without kids, or those with a baby (there was a one-year-old in another room who seemed really happy getting special attention from his parents), it's absolutely perfect. We intend to return, and bring another couple with us next time.

Great small luxury hotel- suites are great and pool and restaurant and amenities were terrific. Besides the amazing sunsets, the real gem here is the staff- greet service and attention to your needs.

I don’t typically write reviews, but this place deserves a review. The attention to detail and the degree of service is unmatched! Mark, Alex, Rachel, Laverne and the rest of the staff know what you need before you even know what you need. The property is lovely, the food is delicious and you won’t find a staff more willing to meet your needs.

My husband and I researched many places to stay on St Kitts and Nevis. We are extremely happy we chose Sunset Reef over many others that we saw during our stay on island. The attention to detail and concierge services began as soon as we booked, from the detailed questionnaire asking about our food preferences, pillow choices, music to hear by the pool, interests, etc. Concierge emailed prior to our arrival with a detailed itinerary based on our interests with scheduled tours, dinner recommendations and more. Upon arrival we had a driver waiting for us outside the airport that was pre-arranged by the hotel, and once we arrived at Sunset Reef we were greeted by concierge (Lavern), the general manager (Mark), and manager (Rachel) with delicious tropical smoothies. We had a tour of the property while our bags were sent to our room. This is a gorgeous upscale boutique resort that places great emphasis on service, quality and sustainability. You see managers on a daily basis and every staff knows your name and preferences as well. You truly feel like royalty and any request will be accommodated. One thing to note, there isn't a white sand beach on property. This is a volcanic island so many beaches have black sand beaches with volcanic rock. Its quaint private beach with a beautiful botanical garden walkway. There is a beach bar with a few other areas to sit and relax near the beach or overlooking the ocean. They have the best sunsets and view on island every day, and witnessed many guests from other properties coming to enjoy it. The Drop Anchor Grill was the best food we had on island, and we made sure the chef and staff knew this. We went to Serendipity, Spicemill, Island Summer, Shipwreck, Sunshines and more--they were all good but truly enjoyed the hotels restaurant the best. We had breakfast included and it was truly gourmet! Fresh squeezed juices and liberty to choose several items off the menu--I looked forward to this meal each morning. They have altering menus throughout the day, fresh seafood selection for dinner service, and even packed us a picnic lunch for our hike to the volcano! Each night our private fire-pit was lit after we returned from dinner and the property was always so clean. Our room was perfect, I loved the mini kitchenette that allowed for storage in the fridge or making fresh tea/coffee. Feel free to leave your toiletries at home because I was in love with the shower gel, lotions, and the shampoo was better than my high end products! The bathroom and shower was very spacious and they also have a blow dryer. The property has a mineral tub, a cold plunge and a small workout room as well. If you're looking for a private upscale hotel do not hesitate to book, there is no other place like this on island. It's about a 10min drive to Basseterre and about 20 to Frigate Bay. Taxi's can be arranged, but it was also easy to get around by rental car. The property is secured 24/7 and St Kitts overall is generally very safe and we did not have any problems. We fell in love with the island, but the property and staff were our highlight. Thank you Mark, Alex, Rachel, Chef, Chantel (x2), Orlando, Sam, and many others! You made our week very special and appreciate each of you. We will be back!

Luxurious!! Sunset Reef is a quaint boutique hotel overlooking the Caribbean Sea. This gorgeous resort is very customer focused and you can feel the 5 Star experience in each interaction with every employee. They are well staffed, well trained and they take care of every detail! The property and rooms are beautifully maintained. The cuisine deserves 6 stars all by itself. The food was incredibly fresh and made to order. We loved watching each sunset with a signature drink in hand in the beautiful infinity pool each night! Our pictures look photoshopped but they aren’t! The perfect spot if you’re looking for a relaxing, yet lavish getaway! It really is the ideal location if you’re looking to venture off the resort for some exploring. Beaches, bars & restaurants can be found just 15 minutes away. This place was heaven! For that part alone, it was completely worth the stay but there's so much more to it. We loved everything about Sunset Reef! We highly recommend this gorgeous resort and hope to return soon! J & I Martyn

This would be a 5-star review if there was a sandy beach on the property where one could sunbathe and swim. It's pretty rocky and needs development, but all of the other positives made up for it for me. The suites are gorgeous with spacious common areas and bedrooms and luxurious bathrooms. The onsite restaurant/bar serves delicious food and drinks, and the infinity pool is cozy and chic. Sunset Reef's best feature though, is the incomparable staff. From management to housekeeping and security, everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating. I would stay again and have already recommended the resort to friends.
