We spent the last week of October in Nevis, staying at the wonderful Hermitage Plantation Inn. This place is run by the Lupinacci family and staff and it's the personal touch that makes it so special. Everyone is so friendly and they make you feel relaxed and welcome from the first moment. Our Liat flight to St Kitts was cancelled...

We just returned from spending 5 days at the Hermitage Plantation Inn and still can't stop raving about the experience. From ensuring our trip from the airport in Nevis was easy, to the rum punch on our arrival, to the hugs when we left, we were treated with special care by the everyone at the Inn. My spouse and I...

The Hermitage Plantation Inn is truly unique place. We felt like we walked into a fairytale from a bygone era. It is very romantic and intimate. At night you can hear the full range of nocturnal animals, which we found wonderful! The only slight niggle we had is that some of the staff were not very communicative (we gave them...

My husband and I just spent a week at the Hermitage Inn and never have had a more relaxing stay anyplace in the Caribbean! Our accommodation in the Pasture House was spacious and serene. Every detail had been taken into account. Breakfast reflected local ingredients and creative island specialties. Chef Janice presented her epicurean talents in the evenings, again with...

We have a vacation home on Nevis which was occupied by renters so for our 4th of July visit we had to stay elsewhere. We picked the Hermitage, which is close to our home and has been a regular destination for dining out over the years. Staying there reinforced our love of the inn and enhanced our appreciation for the...

The pig roast was a huge waste of money. The food was not that good. It was just a hodge podge of dishes that didn't necessarily go together and left me feeling like I had been served whatever was left in the pantry. The bread pudding (the only desert they offer) was like eating a plate of raw bread dough....

I am so sorry to hear that you did not enjoy our pig roast. I am also sorry to hear that you felt the dishes did not go together, while we do try to continually improve our recipes, the menu is based on a traditional format that we have been using many years. We have always received great compliments on...

We loved our week at the Hermitage living in one of the cottages. Thanks especially to Richie and his staff who are so friendly and efficient. A car is essential to get around the island to visit the various attractions.

The Hermitage is remote enough to provide a sense of total relaxation but still close enough to Charlestown, Pinney Beach and dining, to make it accessible. The owner assembled vintage cottages from around the island on to this lovely site. It has the feel of a funky caribbean bed and breakfast with both homey and elegant touches. No, this is...

An all round average experience for a very high price. There was no owner greeting - we struggled to even get a drink on arrival. The buffet was good local fare but desert was a lump of pudding on a plate - really for $65?! Could not recommend this based on our experience. There are so many better options on...

Management response:

I am terribly sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your experience at the Hermitage Inn. I am also sorry that a member of the family was not there to greet you. As a small, family run business, we are directly involved in the day to day operation of the Hermitage. We like to meet all of our guests...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hermitage is a small plantation inn with an excellent reputation for its charm and warm, West Indian hospitality. The guest rooms are like gingerbread cottages and are styled after the old Planter’s house with a tradition of elegant West Indian style, antiques, mahogany four poster canopy beds, and private verandahs, with swaying hammocks, in an orchard like setting of mango trees and tropical plants. The Hermitage offers tranquility and serenity in its peaceful environment. ... more   less
