Good stuff: Nice room - very good air conditioning. Right on the beach, staff friendly and helpful. Not so good stuff: main restaurant food wasn’t very good, very little choice and not very nice, pool side snack bar was better but menu limited. Very quiet in the evenings and it poured with rain every day (not the hotels fault). I don’t think we will return here

I have read some of the tripadvisor reviews and I m wondering if it s the same hotel? Just got back to UK from Starfish Tobago - and I want to rebook for next year. I would like to congratulate the Management Team for a truly lovely stay. All of your staff are amazing: Reception Team you go out of your way to accommodate guests requests thank you, Bar staff your cocktails and drinks amazing, House Keeping fantastic the best I have ever experience, gardens what can I say fantastic! I spoke to the Head Gardener as I was in Orr of the plants and gardens, what a amazing guy and his vision for plants and gardens you really need to appreciate, the Waiting staff in the restaurants breakfast, lunch and dinner always happy and smiling Nakita (sure I have spelt this wrong) with your smiles and eyes fantastic service. Evening entertainment was low key as described however Tony the singer I wanted to buy his CD he has an amazing voice and he also engaged with the audience and got everyone dancing #kudostony Loved our stay and missing Tobago already x

Just back from my 8th trip to this resort, which I think says all that needs to be said. The Beach is beautiful, the staff are excellent and the cocktails keep on flowing. The rooms are a little tired but very clean and good showers which is all you need .The food was a little limited in choice- it was the rainy season and it was far from full, but the meals were consistently tasty . Value for money outstanding. I'll be back!

Our mini vacation was well spent. Accommodating staff and great value for money.. Breakfast and lunch was great however dinner could be improved. Our stay was very enjoyable. We celebrated our anniversary and truly appreciated all the efforts of the staff who helped us enjoy our special day despite the weather, from complementary wine to a special table just for us and they also ensured that our toddler was not left out with some additional fruit which was sent to our room.. First time for us and we will definitely be back again!

This is not a 5 star hotel but the location and staff are 5 star. The rooms are on the beach, you eat overlooking the beach, and swimming from the beach is superb. If you don't like the sea there is a beautiful pool with a swim-up bar. Rooms are large and very comfortable with aircon, ground floor rooms have a patio and a balcony for those above. We had a ground floor room and loved the ability to step straight from the patio onto the beach. Sitting on the patio and watching the amazing sunsets was a real treat. The gardens are beautiful and attract a variety of birds, in fact the whole design of the hotel layout is very welcoming and superb. Amazing value for money compared with most other Caribbean hotels.

Starfish hotel provided the worst experience I have ever had in Tobago and on a vacation. The attitude of the staff was probably the most horrendous part of the trip- especially the women and man who worked the front desk. After having worked for an extrememly challenging few months and planning a few days to rest and recover I was sorely disappointed with this establishment. We were greeted with sour sullen faces, the personell at the desk placed my friend and I in rooms that were some distance apart. When we asked to move, we were told that my agent who I have worked with for years had booked it never made that request. This was a clear lie as another person said that they originally planned to do so but another guest needed my room so they decided to move me. Then there was a frog in my room and i spent a restless night trying to trap it with my dustbin and towels in my bathroom. The next morning, no apology was offered. . I was told that I had to wait on the maintenance man to move it at 8am. When I asked what bathroom I could use until then I was told "well I suppose you can't use the bathroom until the frog is gone." She never informed maintenance as he explicitly told me when I found him myslef at 9.30am. I asked them as the cleaning person was already making her rounds if they could please clean the bathroom for me and I was informed "no," because as they were moving me later that night to another room they won't clean twice. So I was left with an upturned dustbin and dirty towels in a previously frog infested bathroom. I even said I would not have stayed here if I knew that this would have been such a stressful encounter. The food, advertised as "all-inclusive" was set for us to eat within certain time periods. the food was very greasy, pancakes with dough in the middle, omlettes with uncooked onions and an infestation of flies. The main thing I ate was fruit and when I mentioned to one of the servers that there were flies in the watermelon that i had let out- she simply looked at me, didn't change it and allowed other guests to eat from it. Thankfully another gentleman there replaced it later on. Some of the male staff made highly inappropriate sexual comments about my body while I walked in my swimsuit which led me to cover up. Upon our departure another male worker at the desk, instead of asking us to move our luggage shouted, pointed and was quite rude in his interactions. We were left with a bad taste in our mouths as professional ladies who took this trip as a respite from a very challenging job. I returned home 10 times more stressed out than before. The positives-: drinks were nice, burgers and fries tasty, the pool was beautiful, one female server was professional and kind and the maintenace man very efficient. The new room that i was placed in was also a lot nicer and cleaner than my original room. But these things did not make up for the atrocious customer service and sub-par food. I was disappointed in this experience and do not reocommend this resort especially to single ladies going on a trip in need of relaxation.

On check in we were both asked for proof of covid vaccination and if we did not have we would be required to take a covid test! We was not told or have seen anything anywhere on ANY booking site that informs you of this!!! Unfortunately this was not the worse part…. The hotel offers a wide range of activities for the guests looking to book this hotel…. THIS IS WHAT THEY DONT HAVE!!!!!!! Golf course within 3km, Fishing Billards Table tennis Windsurfing Canoeing Scuba diving Snorkelling NO WATERSPORTS CENTRE ON SITE themed dinner nights Tour or local classes about local culture Live music (only 1 night) Tennis courts Volley ball Tour desk Crusoe bar Kiskadee restaurant Kids club Entertainment staff BBQ facilities Baby sitting/ child services Karaoke Evening entertainment Board games Indoor play area NO TOUR DESK laundry/ dry cleaning I would say an easy 85% of what they offer simply dose not exist and they are shockingly misleading anyone looking at booking this hotel!! Using covid as an excuse is absolutely not acceptable and when asked about everything they offer and don’t have I expect better than a shrug of the shoulders and one word answer (covid) everyone suffered through covid and people have saved for a very long time to come to a hotel just to be lied to about what they offer and with the cost of living these days a holiday is absolutely a luxury for a lot of people! For the rest of the hotel it was in a very good location to explor the island and I found the room very comfortable and nice A/C in the room that leads out onto the beach! Most of the staff were very friendly unfortunately a few miserable ones and even rude! The food was average soft drinks available but all tasted flat cocktails and beers ok the grill by the beach in the lunchtime/afternoon was the best food in my opinion! So when it comes down to the all important question…… would I stay here again?????? Genuinely a tough one for me to answer for the price I PAYED FOR THE PAKAGE!! ( well under £1000) for the prices I see online now not a chance!! If they even respond to this.. COVID IS NOT AN EXCUSE ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!! If you don’t have don’t advertise it!!!

Dear Guest, Thank you for choosing to stay at the Starfish resort Tobago and for taking the time to leave us your feedback. It is quite unfortunate that you did not get to experience the Crusoe bar which was reopened this week, however, there were two other bars opened on the compound i.e; D'Bay Grill Bar and the Surf Bar which are fully accessible to guests. During this week we've also installed a volleyball net on the beach along with a few other engagements. Whilst I do agree that a lot of the items on your list was not offered during your stay I must point out that we do have nightly entertainment which usually starts at approximately 8:30pm nightly, table tennis, laundry/dry cleaning services, karaoke, board games, and there is indeed a golf course within 3km of the resort in the Mt. Irvine/Buccoo area. It is gratifying to know that you did enjoy the food at D'Bay grill and enjoyed the ambiance of the resort. We are continuously making improvements to the product and services we offer our guests and is in the process of having the water sports center reopened. We do hope that you stay with us again in the near future and that we are able to better provide all activities and services as advertised. Regards, Janelle Campbell

Was it perfect ? No, but it was very special and very good. The location right on the beach is fantastic. The staff are wonderful. So warm friendly and welcoming. The views from the rooms are the best sea views you will get on any Caribbean island. Yes you could spend time and money on refurbishment or construction but the repainting team are always working hard and the gardens are lovely. The hotel manager Leslie Ameddee leads a very special staff team that he can be proud off on an island that is both beautiful and tranquil. We are looking forward to the possibility of being able to return soon.

I have stayed here many times and will be staying in December 2022...in my humble opinion this jitel is best value for money in tobago. The rooms are dated but it's clean and spacious and they give a nice view of the sea. The compound is usually clean, the only issue I had was someone used the tiles by the pool and dint flush but that's not on the hotel..the food is good, not many options but enough for you to have a good meal and all were tasty. There is the added dining option of the bay grill which is exceptional...I can't recomend this enough...I always tell my friends if you want value for your mo ey then starfish tobago is your place..full stop...
