We just returned from Turks and Caicos on 1/31/13. We stayed at the Caribbean Paradise Inn for 9 nights. The inn is so charming and it's boutique ambience makes for fast friendships between guests and guests and staff. The guest rooms are light-filled and pretty....More

Hi Jennifer- my girlfriend and I walked to restaurants and walked the beach at night and did not take any 'shortcuts ' like we did in the afternoons. We told the hotel where we were going and expected return time but we did not encounter any problems. Where we stayed there was a casino (heavily guarded) and a liquor store - some locals were drinking and breaking bottles but never felt threatened.
Hope that helps.
