Staff was very friendly and considerate. COVID results are being verified at check-in and mask wearing is still leveraged when interacting (understandably so). We stayed in an oceanfront room and were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the view. The bed faced a large window that was mirrored on the outside so you could leave the curtains open without fear of being 'on display'. The two beaches have something for everyone. We did excursions to do snorkeling at Buck Island, but ironically the best snorkeling we did was 20 feet off the beach outside of our room, and included a stingray sighting, squid, and tons of fish.
We rented the beach house for 12 family members. It had gorgeous 360 views. Sunrise, sunsets, & rainbows were spectacular. We had full kitchen, laundry, water, pool, & every thing else you could need. Fitzgerald took great care of us. He shuttled us to and from the resort often even though we had a minivan with the rental. Loves the setup of the rooms. Those who wanted to stay up and talk could and those who wanted to go to bed early had no problem. Lots of privacy. Great breakfast every am. That would be my only recommendation is the breakfast line. Please give the guests their own plate to hold and the employees can serve the food onto their plate. It would go so much faster. You need to order your omelets from the server so do that before you go to the buffet. Also, if you know you want cereal order your milk and bowl from your server at the time you order your coffee or beverages. Togo boxes are available for guest who couldn’t make it down to breakfast. The mermaid was very good as well. Must order their desserts. Rum cake ♥️. Wouldn’t recommend room service. We may have just caught them on a bad night but took a long time and got orders wrong. Beautiful beach with palm trees, chairs, umbrellas and food/drink service.…
Pros: You are greeted with rum punch while checking in. The front desk staff is very nice. They have cabs always on standby to take you around the resort. Cons: The rooms are old and outdated. The staff seems to be a bit off. For example they cleaned our rooms on many occasions and took our washcloths and hand towels but didn’t leave a replacement. Our room also didn’t have a trashcan and no one ever thought to replace it. One room also had a dead gecko. The Mermaid staff was also undesirable. We had to ask for things that should come along with our meal. I’ll probably never stay here again.
Stayed 3 nights here while on St Croix. The hotel Is dated but overall it was a good hotel. Our room was very spacious, shower had good water pressure, room AC was ice cold, free coffee, comfortable beds. Easy access to beach and pool. Pool was dated and small but it did overlook the beach. We hit up the sushi bar which was $30 minimum for a sushi roll, drinks were also very pricy $15-20 each. The restaurant for dinner was nice, really good prime burgers. Overall the hotel was average compared to other beach resorts. I would stay again, but I would look for another option before I stayed there again. Beach was nice as well.
Absolutely amazing Resort and property. We are loyal guests that return every year and are never disappointed. The staff makes you feel like royalty and the property provides the perfect setting. Due to COVID we missed a year of our annual vacay so we’re well overdue for a visit- Although still practicing safety measures to ensure guests were safe the visit was great. Pat who we see every year we visit was there and took great care of us. Tiffany who we met at the Mermaid Restaurant on day one who also went above and beyond for us. During these tough times thank you to the Buccaneer staff, their Concierge Staff who helped set up all our reservations, to the friendly folks at the gate- Mr Soto You all made our trip amazing! Andrea and Vic. Can’t wait to see you next year.
