I canceled reservations. I called and ask how much of the property is still damaged. They said there are construction all over the property. The pool and beach is open. Only 1 restaurant is open. And there are only a few tourist staying there. Most of the people who stays there now are construction and business people who are involved with the construction of the property.
So I called Orbitz to see if I can cancel the reservations even though hotel policy says no refund. Orbitz called Ritz and got permission to refund me the full amount.
I was so disappointed but we had to cancel our St Thomas trip because they didn’t have a 4-5 star hotel that fit our budget. So we are are now heading to Bahamas.

UPDATE - I just checked tonight It's the St. Thomas Ritz Carlton. It will not be open until SUMMER 2019, Which means they have pushed it further from fall 2018 to Summer 2019! Big boo! Hope that helps!
