Check in is at 4:00. It’s 5:00 and I’m still not in my room. After the ferry ride and the cab, I was ready to peel off my hot, sweaty clothes and put on my bathing suit and hit the beach for a refreshing dip and an ocean breeze.

We have been to this property before and have nothing bad to say about the room itself. The bed is super comfy. I read in another review that nothing is supplied and that is true. I knew from last time so I brought salt and pepper, and coffee filters. There is a market nearby but its a hike if you have alot of bags. I brought a foldable grocery cart this year. My only issue was the bar. There was just NOTHING going on. No music, no activities. The bartender we had was really surly and rude. Nothing like any other place I've been in the Caribbean where there is always dancing or music. Just anything! We waited so long for the shuttle a couple of times that we almost missed things we had booked. Had to go back in the unit and call multiple times. They also did NOT post anywhere or indicate in the welcome package that the taxi stand doesn't open until 7:00 a.m.. We almost missed our ferry and our flight because they had to call someone on their day off!!!! Book your own taxi the day before if you have an early flight. Or take the Westin Ferry, but its $70.00 per person and it goes to the same ferry terminal as the public one which is $12.00 per person + the taxi from Red Hook. If you can avoid going to Red Hook do it. There are two other ferries that dock 10 minutes from the airport, but the times don't work with the flights sometimes. They also called us EVERY morning to attend the "presentation". By the time we left it got OLD. Its a nice resort but count on taking lots of taxi's to Cruz Bay for eating and entertainment.

Beware of the wait! We arrived at 1 pm and they said check in was at 4. We waited until 5 and room still not ready. They blame everything on covid but I can’t imagine it takes over 4 hrs to get a room ready when check out is at 10 am. Property is ok but they are limiting activities too due to “covid”

I’m not sure what I expected but this was not it. We rented two 3 bedroom and one 2 bedroom villa for our family. We were there a total of 8 days. No housekeeping whatsoever. Covid being the reason (I say it’s money) I never saw an employee cleaning pool or beach chairs. There were dirty towels everywhere and trash bags sitting to be picked up. The service at the restaurant was either wonderful or non existent and downright rude. The food was boring and overpriced. I have travelled to many Caribbean islands and this is the harshest review I have ever written. We visited Anguilla in April and had housekeepers (at a less expensive resort) in full PPE checking with us daily to see if we had any needs. So I don’t accept the COVID excuse especially when they were very lax about masking. The Westin ferry is a great choice and we were very happy with that service. Beds are comfortable, bathrooms nice, kitchens are not well equipped (no salt, pepper, coffee filters) had to call down for dish soap, dishwasher soap etc. I will not be returning. That said, there were 17 of us and this was the only option.

Top ten destination - bucket list - perfect beach location with private bay and water sports. New spacious accommodations. No need to go anywhere - EXCEPT FOR THE FOOD. One beach side restaurant serving Bar Grub all day and night. My wife and I ordered two entrees each dinner and had to split one because the other was inedible. Some of the starters? Ugh - Everything is microwaved. No Fresh Fish? No Caribbean Lobster? No - nothing fresh. That’s what the service told us. Tacos had two shrimp each and some stale cabbage. Blackened Salmon was barbecue sauce. Potstickers were cardboard. Caesar Salad covered with days old grilled chicken. Lunch and dinner menus didn’t overlap so choices were limited. Applebees would be better. The food we brought with us in our suitcase was the best! The Mango deli saved the trip with fresh muffins and ice cream. Oh and check in?????? We arrived at airport at 12 NOON and got to resort at 230 before our 4PM check in - had lunch - and then proceeded to wait until almost 5PM in the lobby. We were the last guest to get our room - even after another ferry load had arrived. This is a four star resort - check in experience is the first impression. WE LANDED AT NOON! The staff acted like I didn’t exist - Lifetime Titanium didn’t matter - from airport checkin, Westin taxi, Westin Ferry - we were treated like cattle - A Courtyard in a college town would have been better organized. This island had two big hurricanes hit in 2017 just days apart. The Westin rebuilt in 2019 but some places like Caneel Bay didn’t reopen and Cinnamon Bay still only partially so. The town of Cruz Bay is still recovering and then COVID hit - the island is still reeling from the triple whammy. When you are the only hotel on the island - and Westin is selling $50K timeshares so hotel availability is limited - you can let the little things slide - you are in a tropical paradise in the US - take it or leave.
