I don't much care for Nassau as a Port destination. It is fine if you are there to trinket shop and check out the local food within the Port areas. I have been to all of this Island's beaches and next time I will leave the ship to trinket shop, enjoy a conch salad and go back to the ship....

We stayed in room 505, it was small and across the hall from a staff room. There was consistent noise from the staff coming in and out of the staff area during the day and well into the evening. We overpaid for the accommodations we received. Otherwise we enjoyed the amenities and the hotel's central location. The staff was great....

Dear Robert, Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to write your review. We appreciate your feedback. As the oldest operating hotel in Nassau, our guest rooms maybe smaller than the resort style of rooms you may be accustomed to and apologize that it may not have been to your liking. We have shared information with...

The people and the breath taking beach front views are spectacular. You are right in the middle of everything and yet on the beach. They have a bus system for $1.25 per-person ,easy to take, saves you money on taking a taxi. You will adjust to island time. All the natives are so helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean,...

Ok, I was on business travel and my stay paid for by my company, but I always have had excellent service and lovely clean rooms when I am here. I always find the staff friendly and helpful. Yes, the gym had a few machines out of order, but they were fixed the next day. The building work next door is...

So many issues with service and they could not be bothered to resolve the issues... gym was under repair, no bottled water, slow service by the pool and common areas, etc... for the price we paid, I expected so much more

To be fair we stayed at the hotel just after Hurricane Matthew had it and it had suffered some damage. The staff were lovely but the rooms could do with an update as could some of the common areas. Would have been fabulous in its heyday. If you are boarding a cruise then it is an ideal location as it...

Hi Kazzie, Thank you for staying with us and for your review! We appreciate your kind words with reference to our team and excellent location. Spent 5 nights here, certainly not a 4/5 star Hilton. You can see that from the past that this Hotel must of been a grand place. I'd say the best part of the stay was the breakfast, superb ! As mentioned by others the hot water was none existent and when it was it takes a long time to arrive. I had...

I thought I might as well write a review since I cannot sleep with the loud banging noise that is happening every minute or two. We've been here 5 nights and this has just started as of this afternoon. It sounds like someone is whacking the pipes with a set of vice grips. We've reported the issue but so far...

Good location for Nassau restaurants, bars and fish-fry however it is right in front of cruise ship docks. Service not great, beach area some days had used towels and drinks left for ages collecting flies and wasps. We had to pay local charges which included room cleaning yet the room wasn't cleaned every day. For the standard hotel we expected...

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback on your most recent visit with us! A harbor front hotel with a private beach, conveniently located next to many shops, restaurants and points of interest. However beautiful and stunning from outside, indoors facilities and service don't justify 5 stars Hilton reputation and pricing. There is quite a lot of rustiness and faded carpets at the corridors. The pool bar charges 19$ for a diluted cocktail and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated on downtown Nassau’s only private beach and the site of Old Fort Nassau, the British Colonial Hilton in the Bahamas has undergone a multi-million renovation throughout all areas of the hotel, and offers a taste of the island’s rich history, along with some of the most modern amenities for both business and vacation travelers. What’s more the hotel is only 25 minutes from Nassau (Lynden Pindling International) Airport. The hotel is a true Bahamian experience with a marble-tiled lobby and is studded with palm trees under a skylight ceiling. There are 288 luxuriously appointed guest rooms with harbor or island views. All rooms are furnished with tasteful decor, complemented by separate shower and bathtub. One-bedroom suites offer a separate living area with sofa bed, and Executive accommodations are also available along with the Executive Lounge, where attentive hotel staff assures that every need and whim will be met during your stay. Recreational activities are convenient and varied for leisure and business travelers alike. A 300-ft long private white sand beach is furnished with lounge chairs and thatched sunshades overlooking the harbor offering a peaceful and secluded access for an ocean swim or a day in the sun. Use of kayaks and snorkeling gear on the beach is complimentary. Bordered on one side by a tropical garden, the hotel's freshwater pool offers harbor views and has an expansive sundeck with lounge chairs and umbrellas. Both the sundeck and beach offer views of cruise ships moored nearby, and of the western tip of Paradise Island, 300 yards offshore. Guests can snooze in hammocks on the lawn adjacent to the pool. The property can also organize trips out reef snorkeling island exploring, boating, golf, tennis and scuba diving. For dining options, Aqua is a fun, casual restaurant serving international favorites with a Caribbean flair, or guests can meet up for cocktails at the Bullion Bar. The new Bullion Bar is the 'place to be seen' for happy hour with great drink specials and tasty snacks. ... more   less
