Diamond members that just finished an eight day vacation at this property. The first couple of days were a little rough start because a main water line was damage by local construction that resulted in no air conditioning the first night and water issues the next couple of days. I have to say the Hilton staff stepped up the plate...

The hotel itself is in need of major renovation. Things are falling apart, broken and just plain dirty. Even the light bulbs in the lift are broken, and all the paintwork is chipping. The skirting boards in the bedroom are dusty and the lampshades are falling apart. Food is basic - nothing stood out. The only vaguely redeeming factor of...

My family and I recently visited this hotel to celebrate our birthdays. The hotel was fairly nice; however, I would advise to call ahead before planning a trip to confirm there is no construction and that there is working A/C and water. We were without these necssary amenities for a couple of days and it was not a pleasant experience....

The hotel offers an all-day beach pass that includes exclusive access to its private beach and pool. It is a great alternative to the more expensive excursions that many of the cruise lines offer. The hotel is easy to find and less than a ten minute walk from the port. You must make a reservation on-line in advance that includes...

During our recent stay in Nassau, my husband and I stayed at the Hilton (British Colonial) Hotel. The hotel itself was really nice, and the staff were very gracious and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves there, and in Nassau, on the whole!! We recommend the Hilton, with no reservations!!

The British Colonial Hotel is in a great location just a few minutes (literally less than five) walk to the market and Senor Frogs. Even though it is close to downtown when you are on the grounds it feels as if you are miles away. This is my fifth time visiting the British Colonial Hilton in Nassau. Each time we...

Pros: A/C is great in the rooms, it stays very cool. The private beach is very clean and not crowded, this hotel is placed right in the middle of everything. Cons: Very small rooms, and very uncomfortable beds. Your required to pay for the electric in your room, as well as the maids pay everyday per person in the room,...

We arrived at the hotel about an hour early, rooms were not ready, so we decided to check out the hotel. We booked through United Vacations, and somehow we were upgraded to the "Executive Floor" which came with executive lounge access, and free breakfasts for the week. On Monday night the construction site next door, hit a water line and...

I am currently staying at the British Colonial Hilton for work. I have been staying here for the past several weeks and there have been minor issues, but this trip has pushed me over the edge. There are three primary issues that have been particularly unnerving during my stays, especially during my current one: 1. Hotel "amenities" 2. Cleanliness of...

Situated on downtown Nassau’s only private beach and the site of Old Fort Nassau, the British Colonial Hilton in the Bahamas has undergone a multi-million renovation throughout all areas of the hotel, and offers a taste of the island’s rich history, along with some of the most modern amenities for both business and vacation travelers. What’s more the hotel is only 25 minutes from Nassau (Lynden Pindling International) Airport. The hotel is a true Bahamian experience with a marble-tiled lobby and is studded with palm trees under a skylight ceiling. There are 288 luxuriously appointed guest rooms with harbor or island views. All rooms are furnished with tasteful decor, complemented by separate shower and bathtub. One-bedroom suites offer a separate living area with sofa bed, and Executive accommodations are also available along with the Executive Lounge, where attentive hotel staff assures that every need and whim will be met during your stay. Recreational activities are convenient and varied for leisure and business travelers alike. A 300-ft long private white sand beach is furnished with lounge chairs and thatched sunshades overlooking the harbor offering a peaceful and secluded access for an ocean swim or a day in the sun. Use of kayaks and snorkeling gear on the beach is complimentary. Bordered on one side by a tropical garden, the hotel's freshwater pool offers harbor views and has an expansive sundeck with lounge chairs and umbrellas. Both the sundeck and beach offer views of cruise ships moored nearby, and of the western tip of Paradise Island, 300 yards offshore. Guests can snooze in hammocks on the lawn adjacent to the pool. The property can also organize trips out reef snorkeling island exploring, boating, golf, tennis and scuba diving. For dining options, Aqua is a fun, casual restaurant serving international favorites with a Caribbean flair, or guests can meet up for cocktails at the Bullion Bar.
