This is a great hotel if you want something a little different and quirky. You do need to be aware that there are steps, so not suitable for the infirm. Also that it is very close to the airport so there is some aircraft noise, but it doesn't disturb your sleep. We stayed one night in a ground floor garden... More

We stayed for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed the hotel. It gave us more of a real "island experience" than we would have had at a big cookie-cutter resort. We arrived before check-in time and our room was ready. The staff at the desk were always helpful and there was always a friendly staff person around to see if you... More

Disorganized staff. No balconies on the suites. Had dinner one night, not good at all. Checkout was painfully slow. Shower went from hot to ice cold and repeated that pattern for the duration of use. The " honor " bar gets locked at night, wasn't aware of this until I went downstairs to get something to drink at midnight. They... More

We stayed in this hotel for one night before travelling onto Eleuthera in one of the Garden View rooms. Room was spotless, comfortable bed, good shower, wifi was fine. Walked to the Travellers Restaurant just around the corner which is easy to get to. Yes, the hotel is very expensive but then what isn't in the Bahamas?? We actually spent... More

We stayed at a Stone's Throw for one night while coming back from the islands. The location of the B&B is amazing - the building is set high up on a cliff and it boasts a pretty spectacular view of the ocean. This being said there were what seemed like 2000 stone and wooden steps (probably more like 150) to... More

My husband and I stayed here on the last night of our honeymoon. We knew we'd be sad to leave so we thought we'd splurge on a fancy hotel. It did not disappoint. We arrived well before our check in time but the concierge graciously let us into our room anyway. She even gave us a complimentary bottle of wine... More

We stayed just 1-night as a stopover between flights as it is just 10 mins from the airport. The staff were very friendly and the evening meal was very nice. However..... there are a HUGE number of steep steps to climb to the reception and rooms. The bedroom was ok and the bed was very comfortable, but there were 'shutters'... More

The staff was amazing and very accommodating. The bed-and-breakfast was clean, quiet, and quaint. It is a perfect couples getaway; only a short walk to the bus stop where you can catch the 10 or 12 bus to either go into downtown Nassau or over to Nirvana beach.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
At the west end of New Providence lies an exquisite hideaway. A STONE'S THROW AWAY is perched on one of the highest elevations by the coast. Here our Guests can indulge in a rare panoramic view of Nassau 's land and sea. The scenery boasts the best of the island's natural wonders, from the native pine forest by Lake Killarney to the brim of the coral reefs that protect the glimmering beaches of west Nassau. The property was recently built to echo the traditions of an old Bahamian home: wood floors and wood ceilings, louvered shutters and a large wrap around porch bring the visitors back to a quieter time long ago when the music of the islands could be heard in the whispers of the trade winds. ... more   less
