Ocean Reef Yacht Club we rented a 2 bedroom condo. It was large, modern, comfortable, nice kitchen and had a roomy balcony facing a beautiful water view inlet. The hotel staff was wonderful! They have a free shuttle that takes you everyday to a different beach. The hotel has a free dinner including Bahama Mamma drinks and entertainment every Monday. They have dinner and a movie night and a night of Karaoke and dancing. The bar and restaurant staff (Shem, Ken, Gabby and Christy) went out of their way to be sure you enjoyed your dinner and had a great drink! They also, take you to Taino beach on Wednesdays for a fish fry and dancing. Our shuttle and taxi drivers (Geno, Ester, and Hayward) will take you anywhere you like for a reasonable price. Also, when you arrive Marcia and Hattie made you feel welcomed and they offered you information on tours (and reserved tours). We did not need a rental car. …
Ocean Reef Resort and Yacht Club is the best! Perfect mix of relaxation and socialization. “Rudy with a Y” emcees a rousing Monday night party. I don’t know where he gets so much energy! And Caroline in the gift shop is so fancy! She has new stuff to shop for almost daily and her welcoming persona is so warm. Love this place!
We were very pleased with the Ocean Reef resort. The 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom townhouse was excellent for the 3 senior couples staying there. The availability of rental cars on site was appreciated. The onsite restaurant and the welcome party with a meal and drinks were enjoyable. The guests and staff were very pleasant.
First I must say that the staff is exceptionally helpful and a delightful. However, on our 2nd day when we returned to our room there was a large roach/water bug dead in the hallway which we picked up and got rid of. Then in the middle of the night my husband was trying to kill 2 small roaches. On our last day when I went to take a shower there was a roach in the tub which I took a picture of. See attached. In the other photos please see the shower head plate detached. The rollers on the closet door is disconnected. The bathroom in the corner the plaster is not good to look at. The ac makes such a loud noise that there is no way anyone can sit on the patio to relax. The ceiling in the patio is rusted. The blinds in the bedroom are broken. Also there is accumulated dust on the bedroom fan…
Rooms were clean and Wi-Fi was available about 90% of the time. A few glitches, but overall there were always friendly people to help with information about the resort and attractions. The restaurant had good food and service was more prompt than other resorts we have visited.
We used our timeshare points for a 2-week stay for Christmas to New Years Eve. The resort is beautiful and well maintained. A very safe location with many yachts moored on a rental basis. Everyone is friended and the spa is a good location to meet new people. Unfortunately they only heat the spa between 4 PM -8 PM and barely gets warm enough to use. The internet and cable TV are not reliable and I needed internet for work. Overall we would return again. The insight restaurant is terrific with a full bar
The facility itself was nice with a great staff. They had a fun and yummy Monday Madness event. The restaurant was nice overall. The rooms were nice in general; however, the kitchen needs to be updated with new stoves and refrigerators.
My wife and I combined the best of both worlds while docking our 40' sailboat right adjacent to our two bedroom unit. We were able to entertain family and friends over the course of our five week stay. Staff are all courteous and helpful and onsite amenities kept us entertained.
I was very disappointed in the maintenance of the the resort this visit. There are a lot of things inside the unit that need to be updated, appliances (stove & toaster) not working, broken lamps. We pay a large maintenance fee every year, I'm not sure what it's used for. The balcony off the unit had large cracks in the concrete and needs to be painted.
This was our 5th trip to Ocean Reef. It is always a great place to stay. The Club is close to Scuba Diving. We dove with Sunn Odyssey Divers. Karen and Nick are the best!! Shopping at Solomans is always expensive but the produce is the best we found. We especially love going to get fresh Conch Salad and play Checkers at Terry Conch Salad Stand on Smith Point Beach.
