Pleasant staff made for a great dinner. They stayed late to accomodate us and made us feel more than welcome. All seemed to enjoy their meals with curried chicken, conch chowder and BBQ chicken the outstanding dinners. The hotel itself is OK. Rooms short on outlets and towels. Nice tub. Clean and quiet with pool. Decent free wifi.
I really liked this hotel because of the affordability, how well they maintained the pool, surrounding grounds, lobby and onsite restaurant. They also have very clean men and women restrooms in the lobby. Overall, the front desk staff was friendly, willing to assist with information about things to do daily, and always followed through with their promises with a warm smile. The onsite security made me feel really safe. I give them a 10, because of how they secure the property. You actually need a room key to access the hotel lobby, and security is always there in case you have a problem with access, etc. They are very friendly, warm and attentive people. The onsite restaurant is a plus because it provided that added convenience, and they make an awesome Tuna and yellow grits for breakfast and the cooked sardines and grits is off the charts. They have other things to, but, this was my favorite for breakfast. I switched up between the two daily. I was here for 2 weeks. Due to Covid, they didn't open for lunch or dinner until near the end of my stay, but, i'll catch them next time. The Restaurant staff was equally friendly, warm and accommodating. Because we tend not to see the chef, they miss out on tips, however, i made sure at the end of my stay to personally go see the chef and tipped her for reminding me what moms cooking is like away from home. lol. Room service was also friendly and also did a great job when you required service. location is close to public transportation, i rented a car for 2 weeks, a personal preference. As i was leaving, and it was hard to say good bye while i was truly thinking about extending my stay, i said i would give them all a 10 rating. i hope management will share this review with entire staff.…
Royal Islander kind of 3 star hotel. Rooms nice comfortable with aircon but very basic. There was no running hot water. Courtyard is spacious with pool and seating. Wifi is quite good. Has restaurant and food was good. Staff is nice and friendly. Not much in the neighbourhood. Small mall and fast food within walking distance. Nice for short stay but don’t expect too much.
We visited the Royal Islander to do hurricane relief. The rooms are OK for sleeping and the pool was nice and the water was warm enough. The food in the restaurant was much better than I thought it would be. The people that work there are very nice. This is not located next to a beach and the internet service was scetchy at best.
It is 2 stars hotel. Food in restaurant cooked poor. Room was so so, a bit dirty. During night time black peoples did not get asleep. Very noise rooms. No water in rooms. I do not recommend this hotel.
Had few nights spent there, and the overall review is bad. At first, when entered the room, the strong smell of mold kicked me back outside. The room was not ventilated at all, the ambient temperature inside was equal or higher than the one outside! The aicon, fitted on the lower window was extremely noisy. The restaurantt is working for breakfast and dinner. For lunch-there is subcontractor. Another issue was that my room was entered by the personnel, despite that "do not disturb" was hanged on the door outside. And the last, major repair floor works on the terace, next to my room have been initiated, witout notification. Based on the above, I can't rate the mentioned hotel with more than one star.
Hotel okay but more like a motel with all room doors to outside. i did not spend much time there luckily. Booked king room and got 2nd floor double queen. No working safe in room, ac and wifi didnt work well.Had to carry luggage up steps. I don't recommend the restaurant and location not great for other food options other than two very close burger kings....would stay elsewhere next time as place was not as described on the online booking website and pictures for sure...
Good staff “The breakfast was great because it could cater to our senior needs. The rooms gave us lots of space and the price was reasonable. It might have a few problems for physically challenged people but the staff would help in any way. Their support was so appreciated.”
Stayed one night while in transit, initially impression not good as the hotel knew I was coming, knew I'd be arriving early but told me I'd have to wait until 3pm to check in. Receptionist trying her best to look busy but actually just shuffling paper, after a brief and needless protest a room became available. Room facilities below expected standard, although clean. AC was effective but noisy, shower was just about functional, safety deposit box just a rusty metal box in clear few, flimsily fixed onto the wall with no key. Pool area was quiet and relaxing however poolside bar was rarely staffed. Someone would come out, serve one person then disappear for up to 40 minutes at a time. Until the early evening when several groups of guests congregate in groups outside their room with their own supplied alcohol and loud music. I didn't eat here for fear of long delays getting served. Would not choose to stay here again, there are much better hotels to choose from…
Thia property is well maintained. Food at its restaurant is just delicious. Hotel staff is very helpful and polite. Pool facility is available here. 10 mins drive from the airport. Breakfast timing from 7 to 9 and dinner till 10 in the from 8. For lunch, have to place order at front desk. Recommended property if in freeport.
