Wyndham aweful !!!! Apathetic rude staff. Only interested in the VIP people not Cruise people. Not a smile in the room anywhere, no greeting guest, dining room staff yelled at us across room running toward us saying “You can’t sit there.” We didn’t know Asked 3 times for butter on the buffett no butter even now at 8:40 am I arrived at 7 am. Everything needs butter toast, croissants, bread. No butter !! No cream for coffee just milk at least get Coffeemate or powder creamer. AC in room didnt work big problem told no place to move special occasion ruined . Had a baby finally moved 10 pm got baby asleep and 10:40 pm called and told had to move again. Unable to book excursions all sold out when we arrived and at hotel can not book on cruise or with reservations. Even trapeze which you market they told us to come back at 3 pm which we were there then we were told booked up. Arrived at 11:00 am from Cruise ship no rooms had to sit in lobby till 3: pm for room had a baby and senior person needing rest. Our day started not till 4 pm when could change and settle. Senior was sleeping on sofa in lounge so tired. No Activities till after 3 pm . Dirty rooms and bathrooms. There is zero customer service or happiness at this resort . And I am surprised Margaritaville associates itself with them. Its a great idea just the wrong Resort. Beach and grounds are beautiful. Shady areas suffient but need more especially Cabanas . Again class travel reminders and told can’t be here in Beach area we didn’t know honestly just looking for shade. Sad thing is I can’t be mad just so embarrassed I brought my Adult Grand child and husband Great Grands on this trip. I am on fixed income and bought drinks inclusive told didn’t have it ended up paying for drinks. I had the exact opposite experience on the cruise ship happy, customer service oriented people, smiles and greeting everywhere. Fun activities by the pool DJ’s amazing. Food staff and wait staff amazing. It was fun all of us having fun. Pools too small though but still okay. The downfall and last thing you remember though is the Wyndham and huge disappointment and lack of everything Margaritaville has worked so hard to represent. Its not Wyndham who’s name gets the blame it’s Margaritaville. You should when you sign a contract remember that. There is zero management here at Wyndham no customer care, or quality. Basic services and Basic Maintenance are not in place. Margaritaville you can’t tell me you don’t know. It was 5 oclock somewhere here at the Viva Wyndham it was lights out no home. Be ashamed you know what you are marketing.

I am very excited to debunk all of these rumours as my partner and I had just stayed here this past month. We were absolutely terrified to stay here upon reading some of these horrible reviews, but when we arrived to the property we have had nothing but a complete opposite experience. Firstly, I will say that if you are "high maintenance" this may not be the place for you, and the extra 1000$+ for Nassau may be up to your expectations. My husband and I are easy going people, and Viva Whyndham Fortuna exceeded our expectations. From the second we got off the plane, we were greeted very warmly by airport staff and Sunwing staff. They were happy to see us on the island, and were eager to answer any questions we had. I will start with the food- The food was very good for a 3 star resort- again I will say 3 star. Some of the people we witnessed complaining were comparing this resort to 5 star Mexican resorts they've stayed at in the past. If you are going to complain and compare to a 5 star resort- simply stay at a 5 star resort. The a-la cartes were 10/10, absolutely brilliant food. It also made a huge difference to eat off the resort as the food was incredible there. You are able to book 3 a-la-cartes, the options were mexican, cuisine (steak, chicken) and italian. The steak melted in your mouth. I was very impressed. The buffet food was very good, but did get a little old as it would for everyone being away from their country and it's food for a while. The rooms were clean, we had hot water, the only "Issue" I could say was that our air conditioner leaked minimally, and we had to put a small towel on the floor. Once again- we are easy going and this did not bother us. Housekeeping came in daily for fresh towels. Each room had a balcony which we liked. No there were no roaches or bugs. I don't even think I saw one bug the entire week we were there! The entertainment was lovely, all of the staff you could tell wanted to be there and put on a nice show for everyone. The show times are 9:30 pm, and each night was different, they did include the public for a few shows which was neat. They have a dance party every night, and a disco that starts at midnight. The pools and beaches were clean and good. Rocks were noted in the water, but did disappear some days depending on the winds. There were bees, but it was not an infestation like some said. No one we talked to had been stung by any bees during our stay. TIPS- 1. NEGOTIATE TAXIS! If you are going to the Lucayan market 10 mins away, it is reasonable for 40$ round trip. We talked to some people who paid 40$+ ONE WAY. Negotiate, they will often work with you. 2. Eat off the resort, if you walk to the very end of the beach you will be met with stunning waters and a restaurant. Eat there, you will not be disappointed. 3. Go to the Lucayan market, and eat there. You will find T-shirts and souvenirs much cheaper than buying from the resort. Food is fantastic. 4. Currency is in USD 5. They will approach you and offer you free gifts for an hour presentation. The gifts are really good value, but they are trying to recruit you for VIVA VIP. If you like Viva and have the $ to upgrade, you may enjoy that. Otherwise, there was no obligation. 6. The week we went was windy, and cloudy. We did get some sun, be sure to check the weather as this time of year may be questionable. Hope this helped! We overall had an amazing time, and would recommend to others.

After reading all the reviews we were not sure what to expect because the reviews go from "Amazing" to "Horrible" with very little reviews in the middle. We prepared ourselves for a worst-case scenario but were pleasantly surprised. We did not arrive at the hotel in a group. Our check in was quick and seamless. We arrived at 2:15ish and went right up to the counter and checked in. They are pretty strict Yes, the rooms do need upgrades. They are working on upgrading rooms at this time. on not giving out rooms until the 3pm check in time. That was fine with us, we went to the guest services counter made our dinner reservations, walked around for a few minutes, grabbed a drink and went back to get our room keys at 3pm.We were in room 1122 and the building next to us was getting upgraded while we were there. I was not concerned with the room as I did not go there to sit in my room. I must say that the beds were by far the most comfortable that I have had on vacations outside of the US. I did not find them hard at all. The TV had apps like Netflix on them so you could log in and watch TV/movies if you wanted. The food was ok, it did get very repetitive on day 5. I am not sure if I had kids with me that they would have been able to find something to eat if they were picky. The food and options could be improved. There is one main dining room for breakfast, lunch was there or the snack bar by the beach and dinner was in the same place except for the specialty restaurant. We choose Mexican and Italian. Again, nothing to brag about. It took us 2 1/2 hrs to get thru the meal at Mexican and food was mostly cold. Italian was the better of the 2 choices for sure. Beach was amazing. The best beach I have been on in quite some time. The sand was white and super soft, and the water was an amazing clear blue. We took a sailboat out one day and could see the ocean floor way out in the ocean. Amazing! If you walk down the beach you will find pockets where it is even better with little to no sea grass. The beach is why I went and was not disappointed. Walk the beach and take in the beauty. It was amazing. Walk left on the beach 1 1/2 miles and there is a restaurant with a cove and sand bar you can walk out on. Bars - there are only 2 of them. One in the main building and the other down by the beach which closes at night. This resort is on the smaller side compared to most I have stayed at with that said, I missed the variety of dining options and late night snacks at other resorts. They do NOT have staff that will come around and get you drinks so you have to walk to the bar yourself and get drinks. Since it is an all-inclusive, I am not sure why they do not restock your fridge with at least water each day. You get 2 bottles of water when you arrive and that is it. There was evening entertainment each night, it was not horrible. The staff really tries their best to put on a good show. There was really only one thing that bothered us the most and that was when the cruise ships came in and passengers were allowed to purchase day passes to the hotel. They come every other day and when they are there the beach gets crowded and lines at the bar and restaurant are super long. They are there from around 9:30-4pm. We hated cruise ship days. There really is not a lot to do on the island. We were there for 5 days and that was plenty of time to enjoy the beach and relax. Taxi's charge by the person, not the trip itself. So that was a bit of a surprise. It cost us $30 to get from the airport to the resort one way. With all of that said, do not expect to pay the price for a 3 1/2-star resort and want to get service of a 5-star resort. Set your expectations accordingly. I feel that we got what we paid for and what we expected. We were not disappointed. We went there for the beach and ocean and that far meet our expectations. I would go back again if the price was right.

I will start out by saying that I have stayed at this resort in January 2020 just after their hurricane and wasn't overly impressed with the resort but decided to give it another try since it has been 3 years. I'll start out saying getting the transfer from the airport to the resort was a crap show. They told us to leave our bags and guided us to another bus. Once we arrived to the resort, it took us some time to locate our luggage. Once we located our luggage we were instructed to go to the theater to drop our luggage and get our bracelets. We arrived early, and check-in was 3 so we were unable to check into our rooms. We grabbed a bite at the buffet and a drink and just puttered around the resort until 3pm.. Once we were able to check in we had to take our own luggage to our room. Every other resort I have stayed on someone brings your luggage to your room. I had requested when I booked to have a room with a king bed, we didn't get that we had 2 double beds. Our room was 1272, it was a renovated room close to the front of the resort. The room was ok the shower was a bit problematic as water would spray everywhere and make a slippery mess. The beds were moderately comfortable. There were 2 small bottles of water in the room and that's all that you go for the week. Not sure why they have a mini fridge as they do not stock it (unless you are a vip 🙄). The resort itself is clean, the pool was freezing cold almost unbearable, and you could never find a chair around the pool. The ocean was warm enough, and there were always chairs availible, just domt go into the vip section as you will get shooshed away. . The hot tub was closed for a few days of our stay. The pool tables were broken as well, which sucked when the weather was less than desirable. The washrooms around the resort were disgusting and the locks didn't work. The buffet was ok, you won't starve, but it's not that tasty either. We got the special dinner (lobster and steak) one night and had to wait an hour past our reservation for it. It was tasty, but I didn't understand why they had it in the buffet. The buffet is very cafeteria like, it could use some ambiance. Staff rarely came to clean off plates and never took a drink order, which is so usual compared to every other vacation I have been on. There are 3 Ala cartes, the Mexican was tasty, and the pizza place was ok. I was unimpressed that we ordered our food and waited 75 minutes to receive our orders, which was not acceptable on my mind, and the Cafe was fairly good. There are 2 bars, you would wait in line for drinks often, and the premium alcohol was only for VIP. They ran pit of beer 2 days of the 7 we were there. Considering I only really drink beer if I'm having drinks, that was unimpressive. The bar staff were awesome. Of course, you would come across one or two that were not very pleasant. The coffee at the lobby bar was good. So, one thing I was surprised by was that there was no real Bahamian feel to the resort. The majority of the music that was played on the resort and in the disco was Spanish music. I would have liked to hear some Bahamian music. Overall, it was better than the last time I stayed there. The thing is, if they just did a few things, they could make it a real great resort. But at the end of the day, I got what I paid for! Will I go back there again? Doubt it!

If you’re wanting a Sandals type chain then stop reading now. We have visited many resorts from high end to mid range. This is a mid range resort. And a 5 star within its class. Listen to me you aren’t going to get filet mignon on the beach. However, this resort offers much more for the price we paid. This is the Bahamas and for an all incl. resort you can’t go wrong. Here’s the pros: beach amazing! You’re rheee for the beach! Lots of chairs. Pool is fine nothing exceptional but it’s there and it’s close to the ocean. You should be at that beach not by the pool all the time. The buffet & 3 restaurants were good lots of variety. Staff all very friendly. Activities..LOTS! More than any other resort I have been too. Our last day was a cloudy day we booked our free 30 min catamaran, did some archery, paintball, bingo. Kids club I hear the kids all loved it we checked it out seems great but felt our kids were a tad too young to partake. evening shows were good. Mini disco my son loved it. We stayed in the garden room area R.3115 no issues. Rooms were fine, clean, we slept well. Again, not a sandals room but let’s face it. If you’re in your room that much stay home. Our neighbour had issues with her water temp but it was rectified and she got transferred to another room the next day it got fixed and another family moved in. Before going I read lots of reviews regarding timeshares. No one approached me. Not once. This is a laid back resort with good vibes. I didn’t feel like workers wanted tips but I tipped when I felt I wanted to. Everyone from staff to the guests were nice. Cons. The bus ride to the resort was packed. Pay 28$ and get a cab. Check in is 3 pm which is fine they need time to clean the rooms for the next batch of guests. On the bus I didn’t like the fact they promoted swimming with pigs. If you want to swim with wild pigs go to exuma. Not Freeport or Nassau you will get farmed pigs who don’t swim. I wasn’t supporting that. Go experience this at your local farm and save $100 usd plus. You just look silly as this is far from the real wild pig beach. Instead we paid $50 with sunwing rep and snorkeled with turtles and rays which was amazing and a must do!!! Save yourself the hassle rent a car and do the national park. Diving I hear nothing but positive feedback. A little bit of a line up at check in around 3 pm. Just go for 2:45 beach the rush. If youre travelling with someone one do the check in and one book on the opposite end for the à la cartes. Get it done. My only con was the line up at 3pm check in and not being able to get baileys or something similar to baileys on ice. But whatever that’s nothing to complain about. It didn’t affect my trip and we enjoyed everything! Thank you for this memorable vacation. Everyone loves to feel entitled and leave negative reviews. Take them with a grain of salt. Seriously. Book this. Go with a positive attitude be kind and you’ll be respected. I created an account to purposely write this review. Don’t listen to that man promoting pig beach on the ride in for sunwing as a must do that’s just easy money for them and people look like fools feeding farmed pigs and not actual wild pigs like the ones in exuma. If you do it you’ll get karma the pigs poop in the water.. just saying.

We stayed here in March 2017 and left a negative review based on our experience at that time. We loved the beach so we decided to give it another try and this time was an amazing experience all around!! We loved our ocean front room, we were the closest to the ocean you could be! The buffet food is always good and fresh, the a la carte restaurants need to be booked your first morning at the resort for the week if you want to try them. The pool is on the cooler side, lots of seats around it so you won’t need to be up at 5am to get a seat! The beach and pool area have lots of loungers all day available. You will always find somewhere to lounge and tan! There is coffee at the main bar to get an espresso or a latte if you want to change up from booze! There is a basketball court, beach volleyball, paddle boards, kayaks, and snorkelling equipment PLUS activities around the pool all day if you want to participate. The beach is incredible and you can walk for hours on it! If you are looking to be served all day at this resort this isn’t the resort for you. You have to get up off your bottom to get your own food and drinks….if you’re lazy or want to be lazy book elsewhere! Don’t waste your money on the excursion to go to Gold Rock beach (Pirates of the Caribbean filmed Dead man’s chest there) - total waste of money! Pay for a taxi to get there and back and save some money!! That beach is the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen! I do wonder if Johnny Depp left a buried treasure there after filming….I think he’s crazy enough to do something like that lol!! To sum up the best parts for us…we loved the beach, the animation staff (Amy, Blake, and the others - sorry forget all your names), the main bar staff (we were the ones who wanted “something fruity” ha ha), all the staff speak English, drinkable water, the buffet staff are polite and keep everything clean - these are the reasons our trip was outstanding!

My boyfriend and I took a couples trip here with our friends. After reading reviews, I was a bit wary. I agree it was not the cleanest and the drinks were mostly juice, BUT there were lots of awesome things. Also our A/C barely functioned and it barely went under 80 ever in our room. Mainly the food at the restaurants and the excursions booked through Tiffany and with Cesar (we did the city tour and the pigs/turtles) were fabulous. The beach was clean and beautiful and always had plenty of chairs. The shows at night were surprisingly good and the games the staff put on were fun! They definitely work super hard to make sure we are always entertained! It seemed to be mostly Canadians and we were some of the few Americans, but we didn’t mind and everyone is so friendly! Wish we were able to book more nights at the restaurant (we were only let known that when we got there). Over all 4/5 with room for improvement.

I will try to keep this short and try not to bore any of you but if you are thinking of going here and expecting a clean friendly resort, think again! Just got back last week. I was so upset as we had booked for two weeks. -no hot water to shower -staff was miserable -had to ask every single day to clean the tables we were sitting at - honey bees galore swarming you everywhere. at the beach, at the pool, outside on the patio...everywhere! -dirty rooms, our sink kept getting clogged, fridge was leaking, dirty, dirty, dirty place! - had to beg for a bottle of water in our rooms -woke up every morning with a rash -entertainment was below par -staff was not friendly at all there is so much potential at this resort but no one cares to do anything about it. -there was people selling drugs on the beach and security did absolutely nothing about it. we had one guy with an ankle bracelet who was on probation selling cocaine and people behind us snorting it. I did not feel safe at all on this resort whatso ever!! I have to say the woman who came to bring us towels and clean our room was amazing and if it wasn't for (Karen I would have been more upset. she was the sweetest person on the resort and made me smile everyday! The manager Omar was the best!! He did try to make our stay more comfortable when I brought up my concerns but when you have solar panels to heat the water and it was cloudy and rainy and cold there's really not much he could do with the water situation...but that was ok we could deal with that and He did try and send water to our room every other day but that was also a challenge as we had to remind them at front desk every single time and it was such a bother to them that we waiting for hours before we got any. I was there for two weeks and tried to get a flight back home after the fourth day there but it was so hard to deal with the reps at SunWing !! This is the worst experience and worst resort i have ever been to and I will never go back there again and will never recommend this place to anyone. the grounds were beautiful but kept dirty. .the guys who were there trying to clean up would throw the drinks right beside where people sat and that just made sitting outside impossible as you would get swarmed by bees. There was renovations going on so all you would here is drilling and sawing and hammering all day . I couldn't even sit on the balcony without getting sawdust in my coffee....and then there's the balconies with lattice that separated each room on one side and a block on the other side so every morning i would have to make sure that no one was on the balcony before I went out with my robe to have my coffee...or make sure I was dressed appropriately in case someone was sitting on the balcony....absolutely ridiculous!! No privacy at all!!!!! I heard all these concerns from so many people on the resort that its mind boggling how it is still running! they cover up mold with a coat of paint and off you go. Syringes on our floor, and dirt left behind from the workers.. Yellow tape all over the place that you didn't know which way to get out at times....just so upsetting .I have photos of every thing I have mentioned including the miserable staff!! i saved up for this vacation and i feel like I have been royally ripped off!!! there are 3 a la carts which serve the same food as the buffet so why bother!!!

We went to the Wyndham as part of a day trip excursion from our cruise. We were hoping to enjoy the beach and use some of the water equipment. Unfortunately the day was too windy and we were not able to use any of the kayaks or paddleboards. The sand on the beach was beautiful white sand. There were however quite a bit of cigarette butts in the sand which were unpleasant. We enjoyed some cocktails and the bartenders were very pleasant even when the line was long. We didn't enjoy the food in the buffet at all! The food was just not very good and was dry and flavorless. I even tried the Diet Coke which I am convinced wasn't Diet Coke but a substitute of some sort as I couldn't even drink it. The best option is to stick to the salad bar and water or another cocktail. We then thought we would try the pool and hot tub but the pool was not heated and was very cold. This explained why only children were in the pool. The hot tub wasn't hot and had no bubbles and was the temperature of bath water. If you are looking to just sit on the beach then this might be your place. We will not be returning to this resort.

I'm glad that we went with Viva Wyndham! We did the Margaritaville cruise and stayed there 12/25-26. The grounds were clean, and the beach was beautiful. I had hoped there would be more activities, but I think the cooler temperatures impacted those that had been planned. The rooms were very basic and could use some renovating, but who wants to stay in their room! I had opted for the birthday package when I booked my reservation, and it wasn't set up when we got into the room. But, Neishia was great and came to the rescue to help us surprise my son! I really appreciated that she stopped what she was doing to help us. It always makes a big difference when you have staff like her who care about guest experiences!
