We visited here for a meal one evening so this review is only in relation to the food and service side of things, we cannot comment on the hotel facilities or experience. As far as the dining experience goes it’s ok if you don’t mind several dogs running around the restaurant while you are eating. The food was just about...

We stayed overnight to celebrate my wife's birthday. It gave us the opportunity to properly appreciate the fine restaurant and range of real ales. We were fortunate enough to be upgraded to the room with the four poster, which is very large and plush, with all the luxury touches: bath robes & unguents, coffee maker and antique writing desk. We...

This old Victorian? pub is sited in lovely grounds in a beautiful part of Monmouthshire. There are great walks nearby. We had not visited for several years and decided to pop in for lunch. We were not disappointed. The welcome was warm and there was a huge choice of Real Ales for us to choose from. The bar has wooden...

We've stayed here a couple of times now and I've really enjoyed it. It's not luxury but they've put all the finishing touches in the room that a decent hotel has - dressing gowns, toiletries and an abundance of different teas! My only criticism was the bathroom door didn't close - I don't mind the fact it's not brand new...

My partner and I spent one night in the Clytha Arms on the 27th Dec, 2014. We booked room 3 which is the larger room but well worth paying the extra. The room was clean, tidy and very well presented in traditional style with plenty of space. We booked a table in the restaurant for the evening and enjoyed a...

A group of us had a birthday bash at the Clytha arms, 3 couples stayed at the pub and were very impressed with the rooms. Unfortunately there was disappointment with the food and the cleanliless of the pub and restaurant. I had a chicken minestrone soup to start which was no more than pasta strips small amount of chicken in...

My husband and I completely stumbled across this gem. We were on a road trip, it was late, we were lost and stopped at the first inn/bed and breakfast we could find and it ended up being the Clyntha Arms! Being a Friday night, the inn was completely packed with locals and we made our way to the bar to...

This pub has so much character, but as others have said, it could really do with a bit of a clean up. Me and my wife went for a meal on a Wednesday evening, and there were a few people eating. The locals and staff were friendly. We ate in the pub area, as the restaurant seemed quiet and we...

I had last been to the Clytha many years ago for a Sunday lunch at that time it was excellent and the place was lively, atmospheric and above all clean. But this time(one week ago) was a different story: Starter and puddings were okay only, but the roast beef dinner was very poor, and coffee cups were soiled first time...

We've been visiting the Clytha for at least ten years and even hired their 'back room' for my son's 18th birthday. O.K it does look a little tired here and there, but I would prefer that to the full on plastic experience of Weatherspoons. The beer, wine and food are always good and the staff welcome everybody - not just...
